Apr 10, 2008Tiany, How did you get the black border around your fonts in pitbull? I've been trying to find that for a while but I'm having no luck. Your help would be greatly appreciated.Posted in: General Chat

Hildy, I cant understand how you can live with Unit Frames in such a strange place, let alone its just text and not a bar to easily Identify.
Rest of the UI is nice and seems to be made extremely easy to use.
I can't speak for Hildy, but that's really reminicent of FFXI. I like it because it stays out of the way. Visual cues are helpful, but when I play sometimes I just watch my health percent vs. the target's.
Apr 7, 2008Very impressive work Hildy. It's kind of similar to the setup I posted a while back but with far better execution lol.Posted in: General Chat
Here's my previous UIs followed by the current. Click for larger images
Kuro UI 1.0
This is just a demo of the health bars, etc. I used all transparent backgrounds with deficit bars.
Kuro UI 2.0
The new one is a lottle off balance, but I still like it. After all, I don't think I've ever seen a human face that was perfectly symmetrical either.
Kuro UI 3.0
Apr 1, 2008How is it that people are getting these nice shadows on their pitbull fonts?Posted in: General Chat
I'm curious, I've looked around but cant seem to find any setting for that.
Many advance thanks for any information.

It's actually 1920x1200. I just resized the screen to make it easier on people w/o 24"+ monitors

I managed to find a solution to those tweaks on my own. Just so happens there's an addon called MoveAnything. Guess what it does!
So yeah, thanks for your suggestions but this single addon fits the bill greatly.
Mar 17, 2008Yeah, sorry about the size. That's the actual pixels. I'll get a thumbnail up with link instead when i get home from work.Posted in: General Chat
I'm using bongos3 right now. I'd rather not go backwards since I think the addon has made major strides since even bongos 2. I'm really enjoying it.
I would, if at all possible, like to use the most minimalistic addons I can find for these tweaks. Looks like I'll head over to the oUF methods thread and see what they have to say lol.
Mar 17, 2008Hi Everyone.Posted in: General Chat
I started to build myself a custom UI from pseudo-scratch the other day and i've got myself to a point where I'm satisfied with it... for the most part.
This is what I've built so far:
(i removed the giant screen from the post so it would load quicker. sorry about that. The screen is 1920x1200 so be prepared)
Just in case you're curious. I'm using a deficit/reverse setup for the health bars. The way it's set up is so the bar will grow the closer any unit is to death. It will also gradually change from gray to a bright red. I wanted to have less moving nonsense on the screen but still have a non-verbal warning of impending doom. Here's an example
There are two main issues I need to work out. I'm pretty sure These things can be edited in LUA files much like the oUF stuff, but I would just like to confirm that.
I would like to move my player buffs down below the long eePanel on the top. I would also like to move my questlog down about 60 pixels. Can it be done without having to add another fairly large Addon? I'm inclined to believe so, but I'd like to make sure.
Please leave your feedback here. I would like to know what you think (though I may not follow all of your suggestions since it is MY UI lol).
PS: Pet and Pet Target frames are also included on that top bar. They're centered since most people who have pets tend to use them as tanks while soloing. I figured centering those units would make sense. Also, I'll include party and raid frames when I can find an elegant enough solution for them. Thank you for your time.

Is there a noticable link between what UF you use and your frame rate? I would assume yes, but I haven't tried testing it yet.
I ask this because I'm trying to squeeze every last frame out of my x1900xt @ 1920x1200. I can get 60FPS with 2xAA in all of the original areas but TBC kills that right away.
Right now I am using
Those are pretty much the only things that appear on screen.
My feeling is that maybe a lighter weight UF might positively affect my FPS.
Now, I plan on testing it out myself, but I wanted to see if anyone had valuable input on the subject. I'm relatively new to the custom UI community so I'm not too sure on how to tweak that oUF stuff like in other posts.
As always, thanks in advance for your input and a big thanks to those of you developing these impressive addons!
Mar 4, 2008Hello Everyone.Posted in: Unit Frames
As always I'd like to start by thanking the hard working addon writers for their continued effort.
I have a question about dogtags.
Is there a way to show how many people are targeting a given unit at any time? X-perl currently does it by default and, though it's uncommon, I actually find it useful at times.
If anyone knows whether there's a tag for that and, if so, what that is, I would appreciate your post very much.
