Hey, just started using PitBull. Do the player Threat and Reputation bars function? I can't seem to get them to appear. Thanks!
They do function. Make sure the modules for reputation and threat are enabled. Then to display a faction first open your reputation panel, scroll to the faction you wish to watch, check the box to track that faction. The bar will automatically appear on your own unit frame at the bottom.
For the threat bar, again make sure the module is enabled. Then under your own frame layout or under Target frame layout go to the bars tab. Make sure the threat bar is enabled here as well. Manipulate options to place it where you want it. Myself, I simply have a % threat text displayed on my targets health bar.
I just downloaded WoW 2 days ago and pitbull today. This isn't my first time using either I am just returning to the game after 8 months gone. I was trying to setup party frames in preparation for building a UI that I can use to play any class in any role with minimal adjustments. However, I can't find a party frame to setup. I looked up the FAQ and the 4.0 guide to see if I was missing something. The guide said that pitbull is supposed to come with a party frame built in.
Should I re-download the mod and reinstall? Is there a way to create a new party frame in the mod using the "new group" entry box? The drop down menu for "Current Group" in the "Groups" tab is blank right now.
Phanx, since you seem to be the residing expert on this mod since the original author has suffered that evil curse of WoW Burnout, do you know of a means to make a bar fade out until I mouse over it? Or make a bar fade out until I use an ability on it with a CD and then have only that button appear?
I just found FlexBar2 and was reading through what it could do. This makes me wonder. Will Bartender ever let me edit a singly button and not an entire bar? I like what it can do now, and I like the ButtonFacade support, but I want to either have a bar that I can make vanish and then buttons show up when something goes on CD, or be able to make single buttons that might do that.
Also does anyone know of a mod that would let me do the first idea with Bartender?
With Bartender 4, can I have say an entire bar hidden except for specific buttons that have spells, abilities, or consumables in the process of actively cooling down? I am building a new UI and I envision something along the lines of this.
I have my main action bar of spells and abilities I wish to see at all times just below the my UF and that of my Target. Then off the the side would be a bar for all my consumables. Potions, gems, health stones, Flame Cap, and so on. I envision this bar normally being hidden except for when I config it to set it up and when I use something on it like a mana potion. Then the button for Mana potion would appear and a cooldown timer (I saw you won't support timers and I'd need OmniCC to provide that) would show up on the button as well. The rest of the bar would remain hidden.
Also with Bartender3 (what I am trying to work into my new UI now) I have noticed that each of the Bartender 3 bars mirror the Blizzard bars. In of itself wouldn't be an issue if not for the fact that I still have to use my old UI for raiding until I finish building full functionality into my new UI. The specific problem is that I am using two completely seperate sets of folders for each UI. I have an OLDAddons and OLDWTF folders for my old UI and a NEWAddons and NEWWTF folders for my new UI. Before I install the folder for the UI I want to use or work on atm, I cut out the others and move them to their seperate backup locations, Backup, and Project Backup. I then go into the other backup folder and cut the folders for the UI I wish to be using from its backup location and paste it into the WoW Directory. The problem with Bartender3 mirroring Blizzard bars comes to this. When I setup my spells for Bartender3 and then log out and swap UIs, all my spells and abilities for my other UI end up moved to mirror Bartender3 as well despite the fact that Bartender3 is NOT installed in my old UI. Is there a way to get around this? And if I switch to Bartender4 will I still see this issue?
So far the only information I have been able to find was from a guildy who told me that spell locations for buttons was saved server side and not client side.
I use to have have issues of that nature as a mage trying to make an evocation macro for in combat and out of combat. Fortunately for me channeled spells can still hide weapon swaps in their GCD. With 2.4.3 for shamans and paladins the only thing ya'll can really do now is change totem/libram, wait for the GCD (1.5 seconds unhasted going down to 1 second around 510-515 spell haste ~33%), then cast your spell. Since a weapon swap does proc a GCD during combat it also for interrupts (not sure if thats the right choice of words) the macro. You will have to hit the button again once you have swapped totems/librams to cast your heal.
Feature Request:
As it currently stands Bars 1, 3-6 are all assigned to mirror the built in Blizzard Bars. If there is not a way to unlink these bars to the Blizzard Bars I would like to see that added. This request stems from that I am currently building a brand new UI. I am pretty much overhauling the entire thing. Before I used a 95% default Blizz UI just scaled down (using the scaler under video options.) Because I also raid 5+ days a week, I am constantly swapping between Addon(old), WTF(old) and Addon(new), WTF(new) folders. Unfortunately even using two completely seperate folders for this the position of spells, macros, and abilities stays the same between both UI's. If I put Fireball on Button 1 Bar1 in the default Blizz UI it will be there on Button 1 Bartender3 Bar1 as well.
Questions about Bartender3:
Is there anything more to this so called "Dream Layout" than a border change on the buttons?
Capture Bar is for pvp objectives and the like, i.e. bone wastes and hellfire flags
I don't think it is. I went into both Terokkar with towers up for capture and Hellfire to test it out and those objectives all appeared in the World Goal(forget exact name) box instead. I still don't know what is meant with the Capture Bar.
Edit: Nvm I am an idiot. You are saying its a bar for when yer actually trying to capture a goal by camping your butt on it.
I found the option I was looking for. There is indeed an option letting a 5 man or smaller raid appear as like a party but vanish upon a 6th person or 2nd group forming in the raid. What I need now is to make it so Grid doesn't appear until that same 6th person or 2nd group joins the raid.. When I played around with it and tested it the party frames and Grid would overlap. For now I have disabled the 5 man raid like a party option in Pitbull. So as long as I am not in a raid the Pitbull party frames show up and as soon as it converts to a raid they vanish and Grid takes its place.
