Hm but its possible or it isnt OR its tooo much work? i think pvpplayer will like this addon xD
It is possible and should not be complicated. Easily something you could tackle as a first project, you just need to copy code from BW and basic combat log event knowledge.
Hasn't Arrowmaster commit on WotLK branch solved the Ace2 issue ?
I'm *attempting to* maintain ag_UnitFrame on WoWI/WotLK and if it's confirmed as fixed I would upload a new version from work, otherwise I'll just wait until the evening.
The AceGUI-3.0 Scrollframe is just a wrapper around the built in Scrollframe api to make it fit in with the rest of the framework. A Scrollframe will property clip its contents when you scroll, and there are blizzard templates that will help with the scrollbar etc aspect of it.
Hmmm so if I understand correctly a Blizzard ScrollFrame is just the rectangle that crops everything that isn't in its "scope" and it has to be linked to a scrollbar in order to slide up / down correctly... I think I'll try and read the Ace3 ScrollFrame widget code to try and implement that with the relevant Blizz templates...
I'm attempting to create a mod which results in pretty complete and lengthy reports which I would like to show in a scrolling window. Am I correct in my understanding : there is no "simple" way to embed a frame in a "ScrollFrame" container that would behave "correctly" (ie : as a "normal" MS Window works) right off the bat ?
From what I understand the only way to proceed is to actually code myself all the show / hide stuff based on offset etc... Am I right ?
I think Ace-GUI-3.0 proposes such a magical container but I've coded all the content of the scrollframe without using Ace-GUI-3.0, would it be possible easily to attach all my framework-agnostic content elements inside an Ace-GUI-3.0 ScrollFrame ?
Oh, one important thing is, I don't know how to 'test' my Grid layout. (Sorry to come up with Pitbull once again, but:) In Pitbull there is something like a test setup, which simulates every element of Pitbull, so it can be setup accordingly. Is there something like this in Grid?
I'm too slow to tweak Grids settings in a raid situation, which I should, because else I wouldn't actually see what I'm setting and how it may look in the end.
Grid has indeed such a feature, it's called "Get your ass in Alterac Valley" :P
As for warlocks use specifically you should :
- decrease the overall size of the cells, you want to be able to tell at a glance how your raid is doing
- add mana indicators
- add range status for frame alpha indicator, there's nothing that annoys me more than ordering in RC for stragglers to be summoned and having warlocks ask for names... Use range indicator and speed up those processes whenever you can...
1/ Download GridDynamicZoneSwitch
In the following I will assume that you want two setups, one for 10 men groups, the other for 25-men groups
2/ Put your Grid frame where you want it for 10 men group
3/ Go to Grid / Profile / Other, type in PvE10 (for example) and press enter
4/ Put your Grid frame where you want it for 25 men group
5/ Go to Grid / Profile / Other, type in PvE25 (for example) and press enter
6/ Go to Grid / Dynamic Zone Switch and for each 25-men raid zones specify you want to load profile PvE25, for each 10-men zones specify you want to load PvE10.
Voil?... (<- Edit : that forum butchers my few french snobisms :( )
PS : it's actually more than your position that you can save in profile, with PvE10 and PvE25 all standard Grid settings can actually different, you could have entirely different setups (width / height of cells, status / indicators links etc...)
This seems very interesting indeed :) Once my spriest hits 70, I'll test it out properly (she's 50 now and doesn't have a ShadowFiend, so part of the addon wouldn't be used :P)
Despite the name of the mod there is none of its function whatsoever that is related to ShadowFiend :)
ShadowFriend attempts to provide meaningful information to shadow priests for post-fight analysis :
* Historize fights
* Choose fights to historize (default T4 to Sunwell database provided)
* Metrics :
o Mana return efficiency : ratio between the mana returned and the theoretical mana return based on total shadow damage
o MB/SW:D cooldown management efficiency : ratio between number of spell casts and theoretical max number of spell casts based on fight length
* Warnings :
o Hazardous SW:D casts : number of SW:D casts with health under a set threshold
o Death number in fight
I seem to remember making the screen shake is not possible when you display nameplates (world frame is then considered secured).
Other than that it seems like a pretty straightforward thing to do (but I won't do it :P )
