posted a message on Dungeon Finder "Type" List
    Quote from mrthornhill
Hi, I'm trying to get the list of options found in the Type: combo box in the Dungeon Finder frame. I've looked through the LFG/LFD api calls listed on wowpedia, and I've coded up a few of them, but none of them provide me that list specifically.
    ie:
    Random Lich King Heroic
    Random Lich King Dungeon
    Specific Dungeon

    Any ideas?

    Thank you in advance.

I answered my own question by looking at the blizzard code for the LFD frame.

You can get the count of random dungeon options from "GetNumRandomDungeons()... and then call GetLFGRandomDungeonInfo to return id,name.

Thanks for anyone that read this and thought about it.

posted a message on AdiBags - a bag addon
I'm wondering if I am missing some configuration setting somewhere...

On the project page for AdiBags it says:

    two bag layout modes:
anchored: unlock and move the anchor,
manual: move the bags by dragging their title.

I can't seem to find a way to switch to Manual mode so that I can drag by their title.

Also, a suggestion. I think it would be a cool feature if you could drag a section title for a section from your bank<->bag and have it transfer all of it's contents in one move. Like if I want to move all of a particular equipment set from my bags to my bank.

Thanks for the great addon, I'm a baggins convert and loving it so far.

** looks like maybe in the 1.1 build the manual mode is selectable? I got it from Curse last night and probably only have the 1.0 release build... **

How is that so different from having a bunch of custom categories in an all-in-one bag? All of those extra bag frames just take up more space; why not integrate them?

Here are my bags on my shaman:

In your adibags screenshot there, I noticed you had a number of Set:XXX sections in your bags. I managed to create similar sections in my bags by using the built in blizzard equipment manager, however it has a limit of 10 sets. I count at least 15 different sets in your image, how is that possible?

    ***Edit**
Nevermind, I figured this out on my own, I found the adibags_Outfitter addon.

posted a message on This item begins a quest.. How to know?
Hi. I'm looking for some guidance on a little addon idea I have.
Many times I've found an item in my bags that begins a quest, with the "This item begins a quest" text on it, but I didn't realize it until much later. Sometimes you just get into a grind-loot-grind-loot frame of mind and don't notice that item you picked up.
What would be awesome is something simple that would just bring to my attention that I looted such an item. Like a big fat block of text in the center of the screen that says "Hey dummy, look what you got".

Using the "ITEM_PUSH" event, I should be able to 'examine' items I pick up. But I can't figure out how to know if an item contains that text, or can be used in that way.

Any suggestions? Am I going at it the wrong way?

    Thanks!

posted a message on MagicMarker - Raid Icon Marking made simple
Hiya. Thanks for the awesome addon, it makes marking in instances/raids just ridiculously easy.

Just a couple issues i've run into.

I initially got the addon through wau, without externals, and when I would start wow, i could see it was loaded using the /ace3 list enabled command, but the /mm /magic commands did not bring it up at all. Downloading the zip with the /libs/ folder included, and dropping that into my interface folder resulted in it working fine. So it seems like there is an issue with getting it without externals.

Second, my friends and I can't seem to get the database sharing functions to work at all. I have my settings set to replace my database with the incoming database, my friend shares it, and even after several minutes, I get nothing. Is this feature just broken at the moment? Or is there some requirement that we're missing. (we're in a raid group, and he's the leader sharing his data with me)

posted a message on PitBull 2.0
Hi, did some searching in Jira and this thread but didn't find anything quite like this. So apologies if this has been asked previously.

Using pitbull, I have set up my player unit frame, looks great.
I go into the target unit frame, and want it to look similar, so i use the "copy from: player" option in the Other/Profile menu item.
Make some other changes, play for a bit, logout.

When i log back in, most of the changes that were carried over from the player frame to the target frame, as well as the custom changes i made to the target frame, are gone.

I tried locking the frames, didn't help.

Is this feature just broke? or am I doing it wrong?

    Thanks

    ***edit/update**
So after much dicking around, i figured out that what was going on is that the blank space setting of "enabled" was not being properly set/saved between sessions when using the copy from other frame function. So when i would copy from a different frame , it would be fine for that session, but on re-logging it was gone, I have my name/level/etc text in that bar, so it left me with just health and mana bars.

The work around was to copy from the other bar, but then go in and manually check and uncheck the blank space enabled checkbox.

    Thanks..
