I have the problem in that disabling/enabling the foglight makes no difference at all. I have the background set to transparent and only have the map overlay visible. Running the latest version with mining, herbalism and quests modules. Running with standalone libs (which appears to make little if any difference to load times).
This is also in the Terrokar area, haven't checked anywhere else.
Just installed this and absolutely love it. Very lightweight and the ability to turn off the buttons means I only have 4-5 buttons showing. It has freed up a whole load of wasted action buttons for me and I now actually have enough buttons to go round.
I also concur with Kal, it would be nice if you could up the strata so the menu overlays most other addons.
I think if you look further back in the thread this has been answered, and basically thes are the only buttons Blizzard allow to work this way. I could be wrong but I'm not checking back over 40 odd pages to find it again. Just did that this weekend trying to find a macro to clear all icons from the buttons.
Quick disclaimer, I have no knowledge of lua whatsoever apart from reading a couple of tutorials that left me more confused than ever. So if I make any daft comments or thoughts be gentle with me :P
Ok, I decided to have a go at customising the ABF layout and created testABF. Basically all I wanted to do was move the cast bars to the top of the unit frames. This I can do quite successfully however I am having difficulty with the frame. ABF grows the frame downwards with what I assume is the HeightAdd command. I'm assuming to make it grow up I need to add an offset:
This is the code I'm using at the moment. Now I tried adding 'y = 10' between 'HeightAdd = 11' and 'Visibility =' hoping that would offset the frame but all that happens is that testABF no longer shows up in the Frame Layout options. I can comment out the HeightAdd line totally and set Cast_BG hidden to 'True' thereby getting rid of the background, but then the castbar doesn't show up at all. I would like to retain the original look and feel by having the frame extend upwards, is there any way of doing this? Then of course on the target cast bar, with my auras set to top, they overlay my castbar and I haven't been able to find how I set the auras 'RelativeTo' the castbar.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated, although I don't necessarily want the code itself, just some pointers in the right direction as I would like to expand my very limited knowledge.
Okay, so in case anyone was curious, I got it all working.
Yeah thanks for the info, might try something like that for my warlock. Did you try using it in combat, and if so, did it work? Could see it being useful for changing curse and dot sequences?
Well I was reasonably pleased with my UI up until the last 2 pages and now realise not only do I have some streamlining to do but I won't be happy until I modify some more stuff. Level 62 will have to wait until my UI is satisfactory again :P
Nice. Still using Gmail atm. Unfortunately, my huge lack of knowledge in lua means I won't use it until it gets further developed, but I'm looking forward to it.
You have no idea how much "memory" it saves you, but you have to waste time on testing and thinking whether you need all 5 just 3 or maybe 1 of those addons. So far so good.
No you're quite right I have no idea exactly how much it saves me, but lets look at some more examples then. I use cartographer and cartographer mining, I don't use any other plugins for cartographer, why? Because I only need the mining plugin. I used to use Grid, which probably has the most modules out of all the addons. My main is a warlock, all I need to know is who is dead and who is alive, so I don't use any of the other plugins. Closetgnome has a few plugins, I use mount and switcher, I don't need any of the others.
I could go on and on, but the point is, by all of these being modular I can save memory and load time. What is so difficult about thinking about which plugin I need to use other than the fact I need to engage my brain very, very slightly?

And I think people like you are the reason that OneForgotthename still defaults to 4 columns for bank bags.
Your logic here totally amuses me, what has me not using onebank got to do with how it defaults? Find a better argument because that smacks of total desperation.
I think that posts like this are why addon authors get fed up and go elsewhere. They do it in their free time for no pay and then have to put up with arrogant people like kartu whose only interest is slating an addon.
It was designed that way for a reason, and hey, guess what, I use Onebag but don't use Onebank, I use Onekey but have recently removed Oneview because I never used it. Hmmm, thats saved me some memory usage and some load time, so to quote Blizz 'working as intended'.
Well in that case, you might wanna exit the game and try deleting any savevariable files associated with clearfont and prat from your character's WTF folder.
Then delete the chat-cache.txt file and login to the game.
Toggle off the Fontsize module in prat and try changing the fonts using clearfont.
You might need to do a reload of the UI to see some the changes (i had to on my end).
As usual, do a backup of the files you are gonna delete first just in case.
Followed this to the letter and it worked perfectly, thanks very much.

Thought I was going mad then, I knew I had enabled it recently.
