Ok, tried this for the first time yesterday but keep getting the following error:
[2007/07/30 11:46:27-15-x1]: Hourglass\core.lua:1: unexpected symbol near '{'
---
Basically, I've downloaded Hourglass using WAU, gone to Mist's link on the SVN, opened core.lua, copied and pasted into a new Wordpad document and saved under RTF as 'core.lua'. The file correctly shows as an lua file and I then copy into the Hourglass folder in the addons section. But, as soon as I login Bugsack catches that error and Hourglass won't load.
Anyone got any thoughts on where I might be going wrong?
with WAU i just tell it to update with externals, so it never removed the lib folders?
Updating with externals will still mean you have the embedded libs. You need to update without externals. If you do as Seerah suggested and change Revision check to false and Delete to true this should delete all existing addons and download them without libs.
Some Ace addons still have a libs folder in them but you should find that it doesn't include any of the ACe2 libs.
PitBull is very much alpha state and things change on a daily basis. It can horribly break and eat your babies. Clear bug reports are welcome ofcourse, but whining about alpha software and not working is very much ignored.

I hope you're not refering to my post as it certainly wasn't supposed to come across as whining. I quoted the error message because that was the same error I received, I then told you the only way I was able to get a working unit frame, hoping that it might help you narrow down the problem. Admittedly, I didn't need to add about Kara, but the very last sentence was supposed to show I wasn't particularly bothered about it. So apologies if it came across in a negative way.
[2007/04/12 20:58:38-457-x1]: PitBull-r32507\PitBull.lua:286: attempt to index local 'unit' (a nil value)

AceEvent-2.0-30806 (Ace2):997: in function <Interface\AddOns\Ace2\AceEvent-2.0\AceEvent-2.0.lua:990>
I have no unitframes at all upon game load since updating.
Yeah I had a similar error and absolutely no unit frames showing. I tried a couple of other early releases which still had the same problem but ended up using the last one released on the 11th to get back my unit frames.
In fact it was bloody annoying as whilst reinstalling the mod I missed the invites to Kara and missed out on the staff of infinite mysteries that I've been after since I started Kara! But hey ho, time to grind some more.
I had a quick look at this last night although I didn't have the time to properly set things up. So far it looks absolutely amazing, some of the settings are a tad confusing but nothing a nights configuring wouldn't sort.
A configure all or per bar setting would be awesome.
Slight problem I discovered last night. Wearing Shattrah Jumpers (exact spelling unknown) and changing to Netherwave Boots with Mithril Spurs using the 'Mount' option. Changes to the Netherweave fine, but on dismounting it comes up 'Unable to find Shattrah Jumpers in your inventory'. The only thing that changed was adding gems into the slot/slots, I've updated my default 'Normal' set with the socketed boots but still getting the error. It is random, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
Are settings retained from session to session? It doesn't seem that they are, and that would be nice. It seems to kick-start itself if I click the "V" again, and then tell it when to print.
From the first post describing the addon.
Data
Violation saves no data between sessions, and it probably never will. It's a simple counter display of damage done. The data is stored internally in a player = damage table where other players in your group who have Violation will be stored as well, as their data becomes available in the addon channel.
Also: the Bar 4 appears to be vertical, is there any way I can turn it 90 degrees? Also despite the fact that it is saying that the style is Dreamlayout it is actually NOT! It's more like a rectangular rather than circle style... http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/6151/bartenderstyleke5.jpg
Screenshot included!
For starters can I suggest you read up some more on Bartender 3 as well as trying some of the options out, as changing the horizontal/vertical layout is one of the easiest things to do. In fact BT3 is so simple to configure I'm wondering if you have even looked at the options.
With regards to Dreamlayout, the style is Dreamlayout. Dreamlayout is not circular nor has it ever been circular.
I'm not sorry if my reply is abrupt as it doesn't seem that you have even tried to configure anything yourself.
I finally got off my lazy ass and finished that feature, check out the latest revision ( 28093 ).
It should have a new option "FadeOut" in every bars option list. just toggle it.

Would just like to give another request for positioning of the cast bar, either above or below and with the possibility of turning off the background.
And I'm looking forward to seeing what Industrial does with his layout and the castbar, absolutely love the way they stack so nicely atm.

I would have thought there is something else causing the problem. So time for you all to start disabling add-ons to find the culprit.

Nope.
