i dont wany anything to modify the strings since i still want the log function to work so that I can create a log each night of the raid, custom strings and of the such that hitsmode uses would not fullfill that criteria. I want the combat log to stay the way it is, just disable the strings i dont want.
no, has nothing to do w/ HitsMode, that is a combat log modifier for the PLAYERS damage, i want a log FILTER that is tagertable, i dont care about my damage, i want to see the MAIN TANKS damage and ONLY HIS damage, no one elses show up in the COMBAT LOG. Sorry for caps, trying to make a point you obviously missed.
Addendum: one thing I have been trying to work out as well in my half-assed attempts to get this to work is that anytime there is a Health change as AceHeal tracks, to print this in the Combat Log so that it would look like this or abouts
Mob01 casts Fireball on MainTank01 for 231 Fire damage
MainTank01 current HP 7830
Priest01 heals MainTank01 for 3400
MainTank01 current HP 11300
etc.
this would be the ideal, as you notice, nothing in there but events that relate to the MAIN TANK or whoever i want to be targeted.
really simple, make a combat log filter so that you can filter out all damage not done to a SPECIFIC target other than yourself.
example: as a priest when raiding such as in BWL there are several mobs that do very high spikey damage such as Incinerate/Corrosive Chromaggus or FlameGor, I want my Combat Log to display only combat messages for our MAIN TANK, not me or anyone else, just the MAIN TANK.
reason why? In all of these events, the main way to diagnose why a raid is working or not on the healing ability is to see when spells land, time between spells, etc. It is tedious to do this manually through the combat log text file. If it would do it in real time in the combat log so i can visually see what is going on during a raid, it would be of tremendous help.
I have tried hacking up PVPNoSpam by Grayhoof, the maker of Scrolling Combat Text, but not too successfully, i am not a very good programmer nor care to spend the time at it frankly.
What I think would be good to have in it?
1 - the filter obviously so that you only see the messages for a certain indvidual
2 - the ability to set who the filter target is ie. /acecombattargetfilter set BOBtheTANK
3 - the ability to set which frame it is active in via slash command (low priority)
4 - the ability to turn it on and off
Lastly, thanks for all the great mods that have been made on this forum :)
