As of version 28739 I can no longer alt-click an objective to collapse it

knew there was a reason I hadn't added that before

neuron * r28838 nQuestLog/QuestLogFrame.xml: nQuestLog : Removing alt+click = drag again, I'm using that hotkey for collapsing dammit

    - A way to really *not* show some quests/zones in the minion: there's already some drop-down menu where we can choose what quest/objectives to show, but it only reduce those under their zones in the minion... I want to be able to hide quests/zones/objectives that I don't care about at any given moment (to provide a living example: I'm leveling in Outland, but I can't hide the quests I still have in Azeroth ?!). That or some keybinding to hide/show reduced zones/quests;

Turn off "show empty zones" and hide all quests for that zone, it'll then be hidden completely in the minion.

    - When showing the quest details (by clicking on the quest name/objectives), show the coordinates of the quest giver, like QuestsFu does;

It already does this and has for some time, but it can't know the location of the quest giver if you've just installed it. It'll work on new quests (the exact same way as questsfu does).

    - Back to Quest-I-on look-alike contest: I really loved the way it lowered it's alpha when its minion was not hovered... it really adds to immersive gaming;

On my todo list now, but I haven't had much time to work on it lately.

And I switched to using FCT notifications locally, maybe I'll be able to spot the bug where the notifications turns to black, I completely forgot about that, sorry about that guys.

posted a message on Baggins - Official Thread
A tiny bug report, "Deathforge Key" = Actually a key, goes in keyring, it shows in quest items but if I move it to my bank I dont get any more inventory space so it defenatly is in the keyring.

Soulshards show in ammo and in other, even with "hide duplicate items" on, but only when I have more shards than max for my shardbag. It'd seem more logical to me if it only showed in ammo bag, and destroying one there always prioritized destroying one that wasn't in the shardbag. Right now destroying one in the ammo bag removes a bag from my shard bag, but leaves the ones outside of my shardbag.

(note, when your getting bugreports like this, and feature requests like this, pretty much everything else is perfect :P, no idea if anyone can understand my soulshard comment, but it's 5am and I wanted it posted before I went to bed :P )

Doing per faction should be relatively easy, doing anything memory efficient in wow is a tad bit tricky though :P

    Hi neuron,

I've made addon (currently it is hooks to nQuestLog's ShowQuestToolTip function). It does display comments from wowhead.com for quest. Would it be good to implement it as nQuestLog module ?

Yeah that'd be very cool actually, how big does that local cache of wowhead.com comments get though?

Feature Request!: Since the mod can track quest givers, perhaps hook it into Cartographer and be able to great a waypoint when you're searching to cash in the quest?

Edit: Oh, and loving all the hard work you're putting into this still! Finally replaced my MonkeyQuest =)

Planning to make clicking on quest giver in the details frame set it as a waypoint.

Per our quick Q/A on irc, the note I promised:

Add ability to sync the quest log and detail frame.

Second, sync the Hide() event for quest frame to also grab the detail frame? Or at least add that option?

Also, had a thought on right-justifying the quest frame: could you make it a Tablet, and use the alignment capabilities there?

First stuff on the todo, about the tablet, dont really know.. It'd be quite a bit of work to redesign it.

Sorry about the lack of updates lately people, been really busy with irl things :/

Oustanding mod, nice features! Here are a couple of things I noticed:

A typo and a spelling error in the tooltips:

    1. Settings -> SmartVisibility -> Auto fold zones (tooltip): "Auto fold zones your not in" should be "Auto fold zones you're not in"

    2. Settings -> SmartVisibility -> Auto unfold zones (tooltip): "Auto unfold zones your enter" should be "Auto unfold zones you enter

    Fixed, thanks :)

Also have a couple of questions and features suggestions:

    1. What does Minion header color and Minion border color do? I don't see a defined header or border for Minion, and those settings don't appear to affect the quest or tooltip window headers and borders.

    2. Could you add an option for Minion to have a title bar of some kind, perhaps with the total number of quests in it? Could be as simple as:
    nQuestLog 21/25

1 : Removed that now, it no longer exists :P
2 : That's what the header was, but it was so ugly I removed it :P, I should probably readd that though. It's practical for the people using the minimap icon.

Loving all the features added to this mod, just fantastic.

One small issue, the notification coloring doesn't stick. It defaults to black, I change it to a different color and a couple seconds later its back to black. It happens whether I set it to show in chat or on screen.

I haven't been able to reproduce this, could you give me a bit more info?
1 : How do you normally announce, through echo/fct/blizzard frame? If FCT do you use the blizzard floating combat text/SCT or MikSBT?
2 : Is the transparancy set for that color?
3 : if you do /rl to reload ui, does the color start working again?
4 : Is the color resetting based on time/does it reset for example after you've gotten an announce once?
5 : After it resets to black, does it show as black in the color setting, or does it look right there?

Ah, I'm gonna add that right now :), thanks a lot for your work so far, I know my locale stuff was quite bad ;)

I have a couple feature requests after my preliminary usage:

    1) Allow a different font size for the Zone Header. By nature, an outline is distinguishable at high levels by a larger font size. I realize the padding can do a little toward this, and I'll live with it if I have too! The defaults can certainly be the same, I don't mind doing some customization.

    2) On the zone levels, make it [low-high] instead of low-high. The convention across many places is to have some sort of bracket around a zone range, either with a [ or a (.

    3) A keybinding (or macro command of sorts would work, I suppose) that would allow me to open this instead of the built-in quest log.

    4) A way to hide the progress of the quest. I don't need to see 0/30 when I know that I have two types of mobs that I need to kill 15 each of. Seeing the 0/15 by each name is sufficient. I can sorta hack this with the alpha settings and playing with the background, but it isn't pretty.

    5) I'll second the motion to right-justify the objective progress. I'm not sure how to do that, but perhaps a second set of text frames with an anchor on the right?

    1 : will happen
    2 : will happen
3 : dont know, some people would still want the normal questlog as well. Would you ever end up setting a keybinding for this?
4 : You can, quest header -> show progress or something like that
5 : Yeah, it means an extra set of frames, which is complicated.

    Strange Bug, r27256:

After an undetermined amount of time has passed I find myself having trouble getting the "Escape" key to work when popping up the Game Menu and other functionality such as de-targeting does not work instantly and sometimes requires multiple hits of the Escape key. I had just chosen to try out nQuestLog today and discovered that disabling only this mod causes the problem to go away, so I assume something is acting wierd. My only possible hint is that I noticed it sort of begin to occur after the questlog automatically expanded a zone's quest list (which had previously been minimized) upon me entering that zone again.

aha, that's my mod huh :p, I've noticed that, I'm guessing it's some of the code kemayo put in the details frame. I'll talk to him about it and get it fixed tomorrow.

    Quote from Silverstorm »

One more thing I noticed. Locking the Details Frame, it wasn't clear at all how to unlock it. Eventually I discovered that Alt+DoubleRightClick worked. Is that behavior intended?

Hm, that's the tablet behavior, not entirely sure how to give hints to unlock that though. Maybe make it unlockable in settings?

svn -m "nQuestLog : putting Babble-Class in the toc instead of just having it in libs" commit

whops :P, also, dragging is now the entire frame yes, lock it and you'll be able to click on things again. Gonna make that more clear by only showing lock frame in rightclick.
(if you actually read the tooltip it does say to lock the frame :P )

Ah, I preferred how it used to behave, didn't realize it was changed. I move it around my screen as needed. It is alot more difficult to move around now, I guess you can't please everybody =)

I could make a hotkey to show a "unlock" thing, why move it around though? :P, place it somewhere, if it's in lower corner make it grow upwards, otherwise let it grow down :p

There's been a few quest mods out there but I've used Monkeyquest for its features even though its author has stopped regularly updating it.

nQuestLog has finally made me kick Monkeyquest to the curb. Keep up the great work!

looks great, but ya would be concerned about that invisible border and figuring out where to click and all... but still the color change is a nice choice.

yes it's part of my confusing the heck out of the new users campaign.

I'm thinking an anchor might be a good idea :P, but when I make that I kinda wanna make a resize grip as well, and I'm not entirely sure how to pull that one off :P.

Gonna go ahead and import it now, it's quite a lot of changes in my local tree right now, and I suggest anyone who wants to see the new default layout wipes their lua file.
