    posted a message on Quartz: Modular Casting Bar
    I made a small picture to allow me to shamelssly re-post my request for a heal/overheal guage in Quartz and to say thanks for adding the option to turn of enemy/focus bars for friendly units. Currently for overheal/ spell cancelling I am using Quartz with VisualHeal which looks like this and which is hopefully self-explanatory:

    Obviously VisualHeal works for now but AFAICT it's no longer supported and an integrated mod with all the Ace and Nymbia goodness has obvious advantages :-)

    I appreciate this is likely more work than your average simple request but I think it would be useful for many people, especially Grid users (there is no equivalent in Grid as there is in PitBull) and/or those who do lots of spell cancelling. Watching the cast bar and the overheal guage together really does help with the cancelling "window" being typically so narrow.

    Thanks once again for a great mod. Your hard work is very much appreciated.

    Bleh, can't find VisualHeal on curse, could you give me a rough overview of how it displays (or just toss up a link)? I had an easy enough time making a display that made sense on PitBull, but this feels trickier

    Sorry VisualHeal is out of date (but still works). Screenshot here http://tinyurl.com/24ddfj

    Thinking about it more I guess it could get confusing trying to fit that into a cast bar. Form a healer POV though the main thing is to know if I should let it land or cancel it so it could be quite simple. It could even be as simple as changing the cast portion of the bar (of the background) to red if it the heal would overheal by more than the configured percentage. Or maybe just have a something like the latency indicator that grows out of the right hand edge in proportion to the amount of predicted overheal.

    Thanks again.

    I have a couple of feature requests for your consideration:

    1) An an overheal/healestimator similar to PitBull. Currently I use VisualHeal (off Curse-Gaming) placed below the cast bar to show this but the logical place is in the cast bar itself and it would save me an extra mod. I also think this makes more sense than having it on the unit frames as during big spells I look at the cast bar so i can leave and spell cancel as late as passible.

    2) An option to disable the enemy cast bar when a friendly unit is targetted would be great. i.e. it shows when i target a hostile but hides when i target a friendly.

    Thanks for a great mod.

    posted a message on [Old] PitBull - official topic
    This is slightly off-topic but I couldn't find a thread for DogTag.

    What I would like to be able to do is put a tag like, say, [cc] which returns a short marker if the unit has a CC debuff and is blank if nothing. My main use for this is that I use my focus frame for CC targets but, for space reasons, do not show buffs/debuffs so I wanted someway to see if my shackle broke; especially if there are two shackles on top of each other as there often are in Karazhan. i.e. I set the focus name text to [cc][name] and get "!!mobname" when it's shackled and just "mobname" when it breaks.

    So I added the following code to my local DogTag. Not sure if anyone else would find it useful and I don't know how to do spell name translations but if it is a reasonable thing to do and someone could merge this or something similar in the SVN so I don't have to add it locally I would be very grateful.

    	cc = { function()
    		local i = 1
    		local debuff
    		while (UnitDebuff(unit, i)) do
    			debuff = UnitDebuff(unit, i)
    			if (string.find(debuff, "Ploymorph") or
    				string.find(debuff, "Shackle Undead") or
    				string.find(debuff, "Banish") or
    				string.find(debuff, "Sap") or
    				string.find(debuff, "Entangling Root")) then
    					return "!!"
    			end
    			i = i + 1
    		end
    		return nil
    	end, "UNIT_AURA"}

    Becuase usually MT sets the targets and indicates which mobs should be shackled, sheeped, etc by choosing teh apporpriate symbols whcih we agree at the start.

    So if ORA2 allowed everyone ot set target or focus when "thier" symbol gets set, then setting up pulls will be realyl fast and error free. This would be especially useful when chain pulling trash.

    I have a feature request for oRA2.

    Is it possibly to hook an event when a raid target is set and allow that event to set a target/focus. Specifically what I want to do is to be able to see when a target gets set as circle, say, and have that target automatically become my focus. Typically this would allow me to always have my CC target even when we are chain pulling and I am not left frantically tabbing to find the mob i am meant to CC.

    Alternatively if there is a way to do this in macro (i.e. set focus == mob with circle) I would be most grateful if someone could tell me how.

    Thanks in advance.

    posted a message on Need Help : CT_RaidTracker Data
    Hi,

    This might not be the most appropriate place to ask as its not stricly Ace related, but I know lots of you use CT_RaidTracker.

    I am currently writing some custom software to process and publish DKP which is driven by data captured by CT_RaidTracker (seeing as the much discussed Ace version never got written). In order to test my software it would help tremendously if I had some data to test it with; specifically CT_RaidTracker.lua saved variables files ideally going back over several months.

    Importantly I need data from the Freddy modded version of CTRT from curse (which is why i need help -- I have data for our guild but it is in the original format from the ctmod.net version).

    So if someone could mail their CT_RaidTracker.lua saved variables to deniedguild a-t gmail d-o-t com I would be very grateful. FWIW my DKP software will be publically available when it's finished.

    Thanks in advance.

    posted a message on Questions about Nudge - a range addon.
    I use Nudge since I got rid of most of my buttons I previsouly used for range checking. It's easy to change to work for other spells and I changed it to show Mind Blast as I play a priest.

    I also made a separate version -- NudgeNudge -- which is the same code hacked to work for friendly targets and specifically for Dwarven Priests by showing OOR -> Healing -> Fear Ward. This is very useful on Nefarian and Magdamar.

    So if you do develop it further this functionality in a snigle add-on would be great.

    posted a message on Pope
    Pope is a simple healing rotation mana monitor I wrote to solve a specific problem I was having on fights like the BWL Drakes. It allows you to divide the healers into two groups and then view an averaged mana bar for each group so you can tell when to swap groups without having to remember who is in which group and try to find them in your unit frames. It's obviously only of use for healing leaders.

    The groups are set up via the FuBar menu much like setting priorities in Detox (from where i knicked the code). The window looks like this:

    For each group this shows, from Left to right:

    -- %mana of the person with the least mana in that group
    -- Average %mana of the entire group
    -- Number of people in that group below the mana "floor" (default 40%)
    -- Number of people in that group above the mana "ceiling" (default 80%)
    -- Number of people in each group and how many are still alive (e.g. 4/5 = 4 alive out of 5 assigned healers).

    In addition each group has a button for spamming "group A heal" type messages into your healer channel (settable via FuBar). if you shift click that button it will also spam the names of the assigned healers into the channel.

    This is my first mod and was written partly as means to learn about lua, Ace and mods so feedback is welcome. The mod is named after the Pope as he is a top healer who never runs out of mana and if he did he could always order all of Brazil to heal for him :-)

    It should be on wowinterface shortly or can be downloaded at http://www.mathematicallysafe.com/uploads/Pope.zip

    "I'm thinking of making the mana bars smaller in height, and the health bars larger - you don't really need the mana bars to be that huge, a simple line is enough as it's only used as an indicator"

    A good idea definitely. I'd also bump the health numbers up to GameFontLarge from GameFontSmall (although this might by a function of my having teh UI scale set really low).

    I changed the layout to horizontal by changing the Setpoint call to:

    f:SetPoint(a1, groupframe, a2, yMod*(counter[frameAssignee]*(f:GetWidth()+self.opt.Spacing)), 0)

    which looks like this: http://www.mathematicallysafe.com/uploads/srf.jpg (I also made the health font a bit bigger).

    I have no idea how much work it is to make such a layout an option but if you could sneak it in i would be very grateful :-)

    posted a message on ag_UnitFrames (Release 7/19/2006) alpha version
    Sirow,

    I took your layout and tweaked the sizes as you suggested (nice idea). I also changed a couple of lines of the .lua to make the frames grow horizontally and to change the smart style to just show decifict.

    I ended up with this:

    This leaves me with two main problems:

    1. The "Group 1" bit of the frame needs to be 20 pixels wide as it takes up too much space as it currently it. (The text can just be "1" here since "Group" is kind of redundant. Also I don't need "Warrior", "Priest" etc in class sort mode either so it might as well be omitted as well).

    I tried to change the .lua and XML to make it do this but couldn't work out how it worked. if anyone can point me in the right direction i would be v. grateful.

    2. The frames have some weird gray overlay on them when they are selected (it think) which reduces contrast and makes them kind of illegible. I would like to know how to get rid of this or switch it off. I am not realyl sure what it's for to be honest.

    I would also like to move the buffs / debuffs to the top right corner of the frame (i.e. overlapping the health bar like CTRA) and in an ideal world then out of combat I would see raid buffs castable by me (PW:F, DS, etc.) and when in combat I see my own list of buffs (renew, druid HoT, fear ward) and debuffs. Alhtough I guess this is somewhat more difficut.

    Thanks.
    Rach.

    posted a message on CT_RaidTracker equivalent?
    My software needs some tidying up if i were to be released as it does some slightly odd things where I basically added somethign to fix a problem for our raid. It also only supports fixed price zero sum and the raw version of CTRT not the modded one with extra information.
