    Pitty it doesn't work with localizations (RU data for instance).

    I don't have any localised data, I'm afraid. But if you wanted to PM me some RU XML exports I might be able to get something to work.

    A couple of people have in the past asked me about parsing HeadCount offline for attendance and looting solutions that don't involve full DKP and/or web hosted solutions.

    So on the off chance that this sort of thing is still of interest to people i published my softare (inc. code) on CodePlex at http://headcounter.codeplex.com/

    There is a bug in the XML export if the raid includes Onyxia's Lair. The zone is converted to XML friendly form and then this is used to access INSTANCES[].

    Easiest fix is to change line 168 in exporter.lua from:

    if (difficultyString and HeadCount.INSTANCES[zone].hasMultiDifficulty) then
    to

    if (difficultyString and HeadCount.INSTANCES[raid:getZone()].hasMultiDifficulty) then
    Also need to update the definition for Onyxia's Lair in HeadCountConstants.lua I guess?

    HeadCount:addHashValue(HeadCount.INSTANCES, L["Onyxia's Lair"], { name = L["Onyxia's Lair"], hasMultiDifficulty = true, players = { 10, 25 } })

    My dkp tool turns headcount XML directly into static HTML that looks like this : http://www.deniedguild.org/dkp/index.html (although the attendance tracking is currently broken).

    Since it's static HTML you require no php, SQL or web skills beyond access to some cheap hosting from you ISP and ftp access. It uses weekly balanced zerosum (no inflation, rewards progression nights like farm nights), upgrade pricing and a number of methods of keeping the numbers working long term without problems like permanent wealth gaps (Cap & Floor or Decay basically). End of raid to published DKP results typically takes a couple of minutes.

    I keep thinking about maybe making it more wide available and might be interested in hearing from a one or two guilds to do some sort of beta test. A bit more info at
    http://www.mathematicallysafe.com/zerosum/

    Seppy,

    I am trying to integrate the wait list functionality into my DKP application. I do this by parsing the XML, but I am having difficulty understandin quite how its meant to work.

    So for example, here is the relevent XML snippet from someone who joined the wait list at 18:47, then the raid at 19:52 to 22:00.

          <raidDuration>7649</raidDuration>
          <waitDuration>0</waitDuration>
          <offlineDuration>0</offlineDuration>
          <attendance>
            <event>
              <note>No list</note>
              <start>2009-02-05T18:47:42Z</start>
              <end>2009-02-05T18:47:42Z</end>
            </event>
            <event>
              <note>Raid list</note>
              <start>2009-02-05T19:52:32Z</start>
              <end>2009-02-05T22:00:01Z</end>
            </event>
          </attendance>
    Now I can work this out in my code, but I wonder if its meant to be like this or is bugged? So can you confirm/explain please:

    • That "No List" is a join of the wait list?
    • That the end time and join time should be the same despite a subsequent join?
    • The the Raid Duration is wrong as it does not include the wait time.
    Here's another one for a player who joined the wait list at 19:58 and stayed till the end of the raid.

          <raidDuration>0</raidDuration>
          <waitDuration>0</waitDuration>
          <offlineDuration>0</offlineDuration>
          <attendance>
            <event>
              <note>No list</note>
              <start>2009-02-05T19:58:15Z</start>
              <end>2009-02-05T19:58:15Z</end>
            </event>
          </attendance>

    Like I say I can work all this out but it seems like this or probably not as intended so I'd appreciate a clarification before I fix my code. Can send you my saved vars if it helps?

    Thanks in advance.

    I have a small feature request. I would like to use the loot reporting option so I can adjust people's DKP numbers on the fly during raids when they win items (i.e. I parse the raid text in my mod). However, this currently happens before the loot management dialog so offspec and d/e items also get reported and there is no way for me to know that I should ignore the loot.

    So would it be possible to move this option to after the loot management window has done it's thing?

    Or posssibly raise some sort of loot awarded event I can subscribe to, although I guess that is more work/complicated.

    Thanks in advance.

    And Blizzard probably won't ever change it -- not allowing addons to write to the disk during gameplay is deliberate to stop various 3rd party tools/aids/exploits being developed.

    So either /console reloadui after each boss kill or always have 2 or 3 people running headcount so you still have the data if wow crashes.

    Easy to catch as it throws an exception in my code when I parse the XML :-)

    Thanks.

    I think there is small bug in the latest version, the xml output says version="""1.3.4" instead of version="1.3.4"

    Your new version arrived just before our first 25 man Naxx and it worked perfectly.

    Thanks for the little buttons on the loot dialog and thanks again for your continued efforts on this great mod.

    Yes please keep up the good work -- I use HeadCount to drive my DKP software (see http://www.deniedguild.org/uploads/zero1.JPG for example) and the XML export is a godsend compared to parsing lua saved variables as I did previously.

    I have two feature requests:

    1) Store the winner for offspec loot and export in the XML. Even though offspec loot is 0 dkp would still like to record who is getting what on the website.

    2) Make the selections for offspec, banked, d/e, etc. buttons not drop downs as it would be much quicker to process.

    Thanks again for this, it's excellent work.

    I used the GridFriendlyNames plugin someone had posted a while back, and changed his name to "Dead" to help me keep track of where he was in the raid group to not click on. :)

    LOL. I think I'll change everyone's name to either "heal" or "don't heal"

    Standard abbreviations D2D for Deserves to Die, EXP for Expendable, CoD for Collateral Damage, etc.

    I use the "GridFriendlyNames" plugin that was posted by someone a while back to alter the displayed names for certain people

    That would be me -- the code is still at http://www.deniedguild.org/uploads/GridFriendlyNames.zip (with names from my guild).

    It was only posted in the thread where somebody nice (Maia or Pastamancer I think) fixed my hacky code so I had no idea anyone else was using it or how popular/useful it might be. However, Grid users in my guild seem to like the idea a lot and although I guess it will probably be considered bloat and almost certainly not worth the time to add UI support (even non-coders seem happy editing the list, tbh) I would be very grateful it it were either directly supported or else possible to write a new version for Grid 2.0.

    (Plus it's fun to change the names of people who irritate me. :P)

    Heh :) We have a number of re-rolls who everyone still calls by their original character name so I use it for that as well.
