Jun 6, 2008Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from Tuller »The real question is if they belong in Mangos core or not.
Cast bar: This is something I want precisely because it does not include the things you specify. Actually, I always think about doing mirror bars, but solely to unify the look of the casting and mirror bars.
My suggestion would be: Make cast and rollbar a seperate addon, or at least a plugin, since these don't belong into a barmod imho. Bag and menubar are already part of the standard actionbars and should definitely included.
If you want to make Magos as simple as possible I'd even suggest to avoid a plugin-system.

You need to upload another smaller image and link to the original, or use the thumbnail feature most imagehosts provide.

..and will probably end up with the following:
* A movable casting bar
* A movable roll bar
...and will definitely not end up with the following:
* A bag bar
* A menu bar
Doesn't bag/menubar fit better into a barmod then casting/roll stuff. I think most people use seperate addons for the latter.

Get OmniCC, that makes it show i think.
I already use OmniCC but I don't like the way the cooldwon model and text cover the tiny buff icons, making them even harder to recognize :)
I'd like to have standard duration text below the icons.
With my very limited lua abilities I added the following to the aura.lua:
local updateIcon = function(self, unit, icons, index, offset, filter, isDebuff) if(isDebuff) then name, rank, texture, count, dtype, duration, timeLeft = UnitDebuff(unit, index, filter) else name, rank, texture, count, duration, timeLeft = UnitBuff(unit, index, filter) end icon = icons[index + offset] if(name) then if(not icon) then icon = (self.CreateAuraIcon and self:CreateAuraIcon(icons, index, isDebuff)) or createAuraIcon(self, icons, index, isDebuff) end + if(duration and duration > 0) then + icon.duration:SetText(((duration-timeLeft) / 60)) + icon.duration:Show() + else + icon.duration:Hide() + end
Now I have at least some text below my bufficons like "20,000666667" and the text is only updated when a new buff/stack is added :)
Could you point me to a working code/layout?

Quote from Aezay »Because I would hate to see Examiner die, I am looking for someone interested in taking over the project, and any other of my projects really. As I've not really been playing WoW for quite a while now, and I doubt I will get back to it again. Due to this, I cannot reliably keep this addon up to date anymore.
If you are interested, give me a PM here on WoWInterface.
At the moment there're no incompatibilities but it would be a shame if those addons become abandoned. Maybe someone around here likes to take them over.
Head over to WoW:I if you're interested.
