Small issue with Threat-1.0 r52299 and Omen r51502 on Reliquary of Souls.
Reliquary of Souls has three phases. When each phase ends, there should be a complete threat reset. This is properly being handled after the first phase ends, but not the second.
Currently you'll go into phase 3 with healers still showing global threat from phase 2. Manually clearing Omen after killing the last ghost at the end of phase 2 corrects this.
This is not a major issue by any means, just a small display problem.
still having this problem
Dec 5, 2007With the upcoming changes to the combat log in 2.4, and the recently added ability to see other players spec in game, would it be possible to create a stand alone version of Threat which doesn't require any syncing?Posted in: Addon Ideas
Nov 12, 2007with 2.3 introducing the ability to track innkeepers, flightmasters, etc all selectable from a dropdown on the minimap button, it would be nice to have this feature implemented as a fubar addon for those who like to keep their minimap button free.Posted in: Addon Ideas
maybe there's something out there already which can be used for this?
edit: ok i see there's fubar_trackerfu which seems like what i was thinking of, hasn't been updated in a while so hopefully it works/can be made to work after 2.3
Nov 4, 2007Is there anything that users can do to help make the code for threat removal on bosses such as Void Reaver and Bloodboil more accurate? If there was some way for users to submit logs with information on target changes and accumulated threat then statistical analysis should be able to come up with something better. As I understand it the current method is just a bit of a guess.Posted in: Raid AddOns

Well if I for one should go back to that method of communication then I would have to remove loads of addons as I have more than 4-5 syncing addons. And I would like to be able to be in some normal chat windows aswell.
I'm not suggesting all addons go back to this method, just Recount.
I've created a small patch with the option to enable and disable syncing. I've done some basic testing and it seems to work as intended.
With syncing enabled the messages are sent as "BULK" priority (the lowest) instead of "ALERT" priority (the highest, and current setting). I'm not sure what sort of impact this will have on performance.
Just the patched files

That is the flaw or whatever you want to call it of the sendaddonmessage. if you target raid wich is natural for a damage meter then it sends to everyone who is in the raid no matter if they are running the addon or not.
You cannot 'subscribe' to addons you want to listen on. This is by design from blizzard as they dont want to have a million different channels on each server as i imagine it would generate quite a lot of work for the servers.
I would love to see that you could subscribe to what prefixes you want to see.
There's a limit of 10 chat channels a user can be in at any time. Back before the party/raid/guild hidden channels were added a lot of addons used custom channels, there's no reason Recount couldn't go back to this model.
Oct 1, 2007Actually what that patch attempts to do is disable syncing, which is enabled by default with no way to turn it off. The fact that recount sends sync info to everyone in the raid even those not running recount is the problem it's trying to address. Quite a large amount of bandwidth can be used.Posted in: General AddOns
I had a go at changing the code to use a custom channel instead. Uses one of your 10 chat channels, but with most addons these days using guild/party/raid channels etc to exchange info this isn't much of a problem. That way those with bandwidth problems don't have to deal with the recount sync traffic. I got it working pretty easily, but my coding-fu isn't very strong and I couldn't work out how to unregister a channel when setting a new sync channel. Some sort of autonegotiation between members in a raid/party as to which channel to use would be quite cool too, and I don't know where to start with that.
