Nov 15, 2005Posted in: General ChatWorld of Warcraft Client Patch 1.8.3 (2005-11-08)
New Blizzard Launcher
A new launch utility has been created to enhance your entry into World of Warcraft! The Blizzard Launcher will provide up-to-date news and important event- and support-related updates. In some regions, the Blizzard Launcher also scans for Trojan viruses and third-party cheat programs and notifies you if it has located any on your machine. In addition to providing you with the benefits of additional anti-virus protection, the scan that the launcher conducts represents another security measure to protect your World of Warcraft account information and gameplay experience. For further details, please go to http://www.blizzard.com/support/wow/?id=aww01907p1.
The AddOn button should now properly show on the character selection screen for players using custom interfaces.
World of Warcraft Client Patch 1.8.2
Fixed a crash in the German client.
The new launcher looks interesting... I'm downloading now. Wonder if it'll be good or just another of blizzards lame attempts at something great...
Nov 12, 2005Personally I use AutoBuff only because my main is a Warrior(No buffs, well it has auto battle shout but that just wastes your rage sometimes.) and I often play my mage alt. Hard to remember to look at your buffs every 30 mins when your used to a 3 min buff.Posted in: Addon Ideas
Anyways ya auto buff Technically doesn't violate the rules since what you do requires user imput. When ever you click or hit an arrow key it buffs you.
Nov 11, 2005Posted in: Addon IdeasQuote from "Arxon Havenloft" »It doesn't show you the frame you're hovering over with your mouse. It can set that frame as the frame to be used, but it wont just plain tell you the name of the frame. It can't show you what the art looks like before you choose to use it... Whether it can do it or not I imagine It can since ya'll say it can, but it can't do it with any sort of style or efficiency.
Well you have to create a frame. (Not quite sure how to do this one. I guess you could just use a VisorActionButton or something, then resize it.) Then you select your art and put it in the location you've chosen. Load it up and move the frame to your pleasing.
Nov 11, 2005Posted in: Addon IdeasQuote from "Arxon Havenloft" »Right now I'm using SuperMacro... I have plenty of macro spots, I just don't have the buttons to put them on. I am not clear on the new macro thing after the patch, I assume it wont affect me all that much, I'm hoping for the best. However, without action buttons, it's rather hard to create additional macros.
Well if you ahve more than 18 macros right now, with SuperMacro, then they ones over 18 will go Bye Bye after 1.9. But you will get an additional 18 for each character. Hope this helps.
Nov 11, 2005Posted in: Addon IdeasQuote from "Arxon Havenloft" »Visor can do this? What DART does? Heh... I dunno, I'll take your word for it... But there isn't a better art addon out there than dart. Not that I wouldn't mind seeing one.
Check out the Visor usage manual. It will do anything you want. :)
Nov 11, 2005Posted in: Addon IdeasQuote from "Arxon Havenloft" »Pretty simple really.. Just five small buttons that msg the general channel in AB with Incoming messages. Why not make real macros you ask? Simple, I'm out of buttons, haha. Plus I've heard rumors of the total amount of macros being reduced and enforced.
So five buttons:
Farm: /general - Arathi Basin **Incoming Farm**
Stables: /general - Arathi Basin **Incoming Stables**
Blacksmith: /general - Arathi Basin **Incoming Blacksmith**
Mine: /general - Arathi Basin **Incoming Mine**
Lumber Mill: /general - Arathi Basin **Incoming Lumber Mill**
Sounds like a good idea to me anyways.
Actually they are just enforcing the 18 macro limit. In the next patch you will have 18 macros globallly and another 18 macros per character. This should help you.
Nov 3, 2005Posted in: Addon IdeasQuote from "Trimble Epic" »But, I won't be making it do anything automatic.
When you say automatic, what do you mean? AutoBuff buffs the player when they click or move with the arrow keys. Is this what you mean by automatic or just not an actual "bot" that does it without the users input?
Nov 3, 2005Posted in: Addon IdeasQuote from "shaolin113" »i have loadit and use it. i also check that loadit doing it right by verifying it with ace.
what i mean was a thing in the log in screen. not in game. the little button in bottom left corner says "addons". click that and i want a mod that puts profiles on that page.
wierd i know but theres method to my madness ;)
ty for the replies folks
I'm not sure how possible/legal, for that matter, it is to cahnge things outside of the In-Game UI. I know there used to be a few AddOns that allowed you to automatically login when WoW starts and such but I think Blizz got rid of that functionality. Anyways I think that would be a great addition and I, as well, would be interested in it.
