I run Leopard and am trying to use WUU
Today I installed version 1.7.567 and ran it. My WoW install was detected and I chose 'Yes.' WUU closed without notice.
I deleted WUU, the folder out of Application Support and the folder out of Preferences, and then installed version 1.6.446.
I then ran WUU. I found my WoW folder when prompted and again WUU simply closed without without notice.

try going back further... i had the same problem (half the time it wouldnt even run) and if i remember correctly, it was a 1.5.x some vers that worked, and after that i upgraded it and they all work now. :S hope that helps...

Also, all of the old Blizzard games are cross-OS, however many of them are PowerPC apps. That could pose a problem in a year or so, because (it's rumored that) Apple is going to fully drop support for PowerPC in the next iteration of OSX...altho now that I think of it I'm sure they won't disable Rosetta all together, just stop updating/supporting it.

I think its s***y that they do that. i was kind of mad when i had to upgrade my OS just to TRY and use boot camp. im still trying to get my hands on a cheap set of XP disks.

But what happens to the people with PPC? are they going to be forced to upgrade their machines or just sit in the dust with the old OSes... bleh. this is something for a rant thread right here lol.

But yes, bliz has always been multi OS, and as far as WINE goes.... its sketchy sometimes. I have played a couple games ported with cider/wine, and 2 of them kept crashing... but that was when i was on tiger (a while ago) so im not sure what the leopard compatibility is. i would assume better, but meh. Im not getting my hopes up. :D

I really need to buy a laptop soon, but I'm not sure what to get. I will mainly be running WoW on it, but despite the fact that my girlfriend's mac laptop seems to run WoW better than my desktop, I'm leaning towards a PC laptop so that I can play older games on it as well (examples: Baldur's Gate, Deus Ex, Morrowind, Diablo II, Starcraft).

you can do bootcamp if you get a mac with leopard. it just needs a hard drive partition and winxp. :D

running on mac book pro? I been running for about 3 months on my mac book pro some times 7 hours a day and haven't had any heat/ visual tearing issues. The fan every now and then hit 6k rpms in raid but out side of raids and in town i dont' have this problem. I have full screen glow off. Every thing else is on. I get around peak 60 frames and drops to around 25 frames in raid.(btw running at 1680x1050)

mine is a year old. And i put leopard on it, which for some reason, runs wow better. But more fps means more processing power (or whatever) and more heat. Hence the fps cap. i dunno about you, but i dont like my core running at 175?

oh man i forgot about this thread lol.

Recently i upgraded to leopard, and had major heat issues (tearing and strange graphics issues)

what i did was get the program smcFancontrol (macupdate.com or iusethis.com) and run the fans all out, and cap the FPS at 28.
keeps the temp down, but unfortunately it might also break your fans.

what i recommend if running this app:
    • do not put it in your startup list
    • only run it when you are running wow
    • make sure it is closed if you put your mac to sleep (close the clamshell) or turning off/logging out.

when running my fans at 6k rpm, it dramatically decreased my visual tearing.
i believe there is also a thread for this in the official forums.

uhm. and to further decrease heat issues, i got a cooler. :D

I'm sorry to hear that since that's probably what will keep me from switching from SLDT to Statblocks. Since i'm a guildmaster i like the functionality of these tooltips. the diffrent click functions, the way i can browse all my online members in 5 sec, see notes, lvls, zones, classes etc.

Whenever i invite for a raid i simply just mouseover the text and hold ALT, then i just start clicking those whom i want to invite for a group.

I see your problem with it.. it's big.. huge.. no.. MONUMENTAL! ....

but.. this could be fixed by allowing the user to decide what he wants to have shown in the tooltip for him self.. some poeple might not want the class column as the name text is colored by raid colors. some might not want to see the lvl column etc.

There are several ways to make a well working out come of this which will suit everyone :)

the only problem i see with this idea is that (as far as i have seen) this family of mods is meant to be minimalist. While each author has a different idea of what minimalism is, it's reflected in their mods. If the tooltip is what you want, then i would go with sldt.

Personally, i'm not going to use either friend or guild blocks, i just use AuldLangSine (or whatever it is) and auto hide my fubar with whatever else that i use for raiding.

BUT, i agree. minimal stats for minimal adds, imo

so, in trying a roundabout way of dis-imbedding my libs, i have reinstalled my entire lib folder about 3 times....

could you put a stop button anywhere on the WUU?

and i thought that "scan directory" was only supposed to do a bounce on your local addon folder? when i empty my folder and do a scan, it tries to re-download all my addons that im trying to install without libs... >.< lol this sure is awkward.

No, you don't understand. The lib files are there, in the StatBlocks_DogTag/Libs folder, but there's something wrong in the .toc, .lua or embeds.xml files so the addon doesn't recognize it has the proper dependencies inside its folder.

    >.< oh lol. i had them for pitbull anyway.

love the idea, is it possible to add Fubar_GroupFu functionality?

Cruising the backlog of posts, found this one. I like this idea. something that will /roll 100 on click, and track the highest roll. Thats all the functionality that i would prefer.

Is there any word on the mail and tracking blocks? im very eager to rid my UI of dual text display mods.

The StatBlocks_DogTag externals are not properly set. Once I installed LibDogTag-3.0 and LibDogTag-Unit-3.0 into the main addon directory it works fine.

AFAIK that is a requirement to run said block. so it wouldnt work without having them installed.

oh. jsut thought of somehting. would deleting the library that made the blocks sticky, UNstick them?

I just wanted to make sure you knew how it worked currently, so you could disable if you wanted to. I'll consider this for the advanced options interface for conQuest (I intend to have a simple and advanced view, to address both types of users, with simple being the default). Thanks.

OK lol. thanks. I'm really looking forward to conQuest!

Change your output to either none or the error frame, or scrolling combat text frame or something instead of the chat frame then.

no no, this is a different message. i have it set to MSBT and that part works fine "1/10 so and so found" but the exact message is "Found Sunblade Summoner for Crush the dawnblade, adding to quest tracker"

thats the message that shows up in frame one regardless of what i have the output set to
