A guildie and me are both having the same issue. All viewport mods are having issues. Sunnart is the only mod I can get that is "semi" working. It puts a texture over the desired area rather than just "shrinking" the screen and leaving a portion blank.
We're both using Nvidia cards, FYI.
Is no one else having viewport mod issues at all?

I had used ct_viewport since way back in CT mod days. Worked fine until 2.4. Now I receive "tearing" of the frame or rapid blinking/garbled image where there should be a black background.
I have diligently went out and attempted to find new mods. I've tried: Aperture, nefport, and cr_viewport. In total I've tried four viewport mods, all of them have identical behavior.
Any thoughts or ideas?

I just wanted to throw in my vote that I agree with you (Parnic). That HUD he has is pretty busy, and there are already addons to take care of what he wants. I use Quartz for castbar information, including GCD and swing timers. There's really no reason to bloat ICEHud.

I've been using Closetgnome for awhile now, and I like it for the most part (picked it up since Itemrack really wasn't supported anymore.)
The only thing that's killing me lately is occasionally I get a bug where in an arena I'll switch to defensive stance if I'm getting focused. Of course I have an auto switch set to go to my 1h/shield in defensive stance. This works great. However, occasionally when I come back *out* of my stance to battle/zerker (usually zerker) it should switch back to my 2h'er. However, approximately ~10-20% of the time, it just takes OFF my 1h weapon and leaves my shield on. So I'm running around punching people in an arena. I've learned to live with it by dragging an icon of my weapon to a bar I can click quickly, but it's very troublesome, to say the least. We were 12 points away from 2k and I ran into this bug, that very well may have cost us the match. :\

Actually, it was me being an idiot and it's all fixed now. :)
Can you tell us what happened then? I was having the same issue this cat reported (my timers would report "%d m" instead of the time on the buffbar. I "fixed" it by setting the timer option to "full" instead of default, which is the minutes:seconds instead of just the shortened summary of "x minutes."
I eventually deleted my .lua files, which didn't fix anything. I later deleted my .lua *and* the entire elkbuffbar directory and that seemed to fix it. So my resolution is just to ensure you delete everything before you use this version.
I'm wanting to ensure that this guy had the same issue though, for other people.
Sep 20, 2007I am having the same issue as the poster directly above me. All nodes show up on Cartographer (mining, herbing, etc) but they do not show on my Simpleminimap. I am using the "lower right" minimap shape for my simpleminimap, if that matters. Other than that, both Cartographer and Simpleminimap are somewhat "default" settings.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns

Well I guess this explains your blind jabs at everyone who did like it.
Also, if dewdrop menus weren't that great, why are they still being used to select what instance or zone cartographer is currently showing? To illustrate my point regarding ease-of-use with the filtering with the dewdrop menus, imagine if you had to select what instance you are currently seeing via the Rock configurator UI, rather than the dropdown menu? How convenient would it be then?
they closed at all the wrong times.. if the particular author didn't understand all the dewdrop code to a good degree the menu glitch'ed and you had to reload your you if closing the menu and opening didn't work.
If the author didn't understand it then the mod was generally crappy anyway. I can't remember ever having to reload my UI due to a dewdrop menu problem... ever.
i guess im one of those users that configure something and then leave it alone.
If it's one point you've definitely made clear in this thread, it's this one. WE KNOW.
However, like I and the other posters mentioned, try having 200 mining nodes marked in the same zone and try to see where your party is, where particular types of nodes are, etc. It's impossible without filters.
So what you're essentially saying is you don't really know how to use this mod to its full potential, or that you like making certain tasks harder for yourself for no apparent reason.

Well if you had comprehended my OP, you'd see that I was making specific suggestions not bitching rampantly for no reason.
your centric arround "ACE-MODS" is rahter distrubing... as this classicly discouraged. i would aggree having many addon authors do configureation all the same way is rather nice.

One suggestion I have is that it would be nice if you could set a threshold for a reminder/blinker when someone in the party or raid has 'x' amount of time left on a buff. For example, if I'm a mage and I put intellect on a 10 man Karazhan, I would like for my fubar Nbuffbar icon to blink or flash, which would indicate someone (who can actually use intellect) is under 5 minutes remaining on the buff. Maybe an option to show how much time before you want to be reminded by blinks and how often it blinks. Maybe even set a custom message up in scrolling combat text or something of that nature.

oh ffs people how often do you touch a addon's config menu? if you find yourself touching it often then you have other problems ... like OCD that you might want to see a shrink about.

Ok to answer your mostly rhetorical questions:
1) Monitor size: 24" widescreen
2) Zoom: I have scaled it right where I want it, the rock configurator has tiny options where if you scale it down you won't be able to see the text selections on the left while still seeing the bars/buttons on right.
3) How often do you touch the config menu: Nearly every day. I use cartographer how it was meant to be used, to filter out particular resources, mobs, nodes, etc. Perhaps as an armchair psychologist that diagnosed me with OCD, you can understand why I'm diagnosing you with ADD. Learn to use mod features.
4) Ace-like and friendly: Means that I don't have giant cumbersome GUIs all over the place. I can right click on my Fubar and get small, simple and text based options for each of my mods. Most ACE authors only seem to employ an additional GUI if the nature of the mod requires it. As far as I know Cartographer hasn't expanded its functionality, and it got by superbly before now without a GUI, so why the change? In case you weren't aware, ACE is supposed to bring *consistency* to mod making, ergo I don't have to navigate through 25 different mod UIs, I can use many mods that share the same framework. This GUI breaks that trend a bit.
5) Jira: No real comment. I'm sure it's convenient for the author, but as an ACE user I come to the ACE forums and posted on the "Cartographer" sub-forum. Judging by how other ACE mods and authors work, I wasn't way off base. I saw the "report file" button in Cartographer and followed the URL, only to find that I would have to create another account for another web site for a single mod that I use. I'll let the devs discuss issues on Jira, as they probably have a use for it. I, on the other hand, do not.

Sep 18, 2007I read ck's intro to Cartographer 2.0, but I have to say that when I open my map and click on "Cartographer" I used to get the drop down menu, and now get the "Rock Configurator." I'll trust ck (author) that he knows what he's doing with the new framework, but I have to say that having a "configuration" gui that covers up my entire Cartographer map isn't exactly convenient.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
Before the upgrade I could click on the config menu, click a change and see it instantly, and then close my map/menu at the same time. Now you must make the change in Rock, slide the giant GUI out of the way, see if the change was what you wanted. If not, slide GUI back and make more changes (or close and reopen); lather, rinse, repeat.
If we can't have the really clean and simple drop down menu back, will you consider altering the GUI a bit to be more "Ace-like" and friendly?
For what it's worth, I love most of your mods, I hope to see this one get back to where it was with the improved framework.

Well, I never saw why people have to know all the CC around them. If some CC breaks, usually you cannot do much about it. Interesting but useless information.
Useless? You must play a healer.
Seeing the CC of mobs or players around you that you don't have have targeted is one of the single most useful pieces of information one can have. Let me know if you can't figure out why on your own.
