posted a message on ERROR: Memory allocation error: Block too big. Count: Infinite
After rewriting my whole tooltip i started crashing again around ~100mb, disabled cowtip, no problem, so i think there's something wrong with dogtags. the default settings cowtip worked for me, no crashes.

I started disabling addons while raiding to see where this stacking data came from.

For me it was CowTip, so I did a raid w/o CowTip (had recount / auctioneer enabled) and the data still went high, but never above ~90-100mb, and when I resetted my recount it went nicely back to my initial memory useage.

I had a highly customized CowTip code which I think was the problem here. Because when I resetted CowTip (delete the SavedVariables from CowTip) started it up, did a raid with the default settings and everything was fine. Now I did a total rewrite of my tooltip and will have my raid tonight and see how it goes.

been using this for a while now and really like it, it's smooth and bt only seems to get better with time. However, this version doesn't seem to work with OmniCC. Is there any way that it can be enabled with ease?

    Thanks :)

CooldownCount does work with bt4 which I use, does the same job as OmniCC (even with nice flashes! :p).

While nobody really knows what is causing the game to crash yet, what is clear is that ArkInventory needs a rewrite to stop that crazy rate of increasing memory usage.

It is somewhat clear that allocating memory in WoW is what is causing the crashes and addons that have a high rate of memory usage increase tends to be the ones that causes the crash, and that AI isn't the only such addon, but just one of the many possible ones. AI seems to be a common culprit only because it has the highest rate of memory use compared to every other addon.

I think this is the thing thats happening, while you cannot pinpoint the error to 1 addon or library used by an addon, its among 1 of the 'heavier' addons that is being used, names like Cowtip / Auctioneer (which is not an ace addon) / Recount / AI / etc

Myself get this error quite some alot while raiding, i've about 40mb initial addon load, and rapidly increased while in combat, my guess is because of recount collecting damage/healing incoming and outgoing for players and mobs, this is some huge data amount, 1 try on Kil'jaeden is sometimes 30mb. So after 5-8 tries while in combat I get this error, and most of the addons stop working, or only work 50%. Even though Recount has its reset data function it does never go back to my 40mb initial addon usage. Also not after performanceFu manual garbage collection, only thing is to /rl and go for another 5-8 tries :) Even so if I delete recount data after each try, I will at some point (although after 10+ tries) get the error.

I also use Cowtip & Auctioneer, while those shouldn't do so much while in combat (i disabled all tooltips while in combat cept for UI tooltips) they might still produce garbage and stuff like that and I don't use embedded libs.

    hope this helped :)

posted a message on CowTip 2.0
a repost of http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=14488.0 in the HELP! forum, but no response there so I'm trying here.

    Heya,

I've this thing with the [Guild] tag. I'm using this with CowTip.
When I'm doing checks with the [Guild] tag, lets say I want to know the [GuildRank] and [Guild] if he's not in my own guild only

    [IsPlayer ? Guild('player') ~= Guild ? [GuildRank] "of" [Guild]]
    would do wouldn't it?
It does work, but only when the guy who I mouseover(using this with cowtip) is in 'range' of me.
I believe its default client view range of the game like 80 yards orsomething.

What i want to say is if I'm in a party with people not near me, i cannot see their guild in the tooltip, neither their ranks cause its build on the check if they're in a guild which only works if you're actually 'in range'.

The weird thing is you can always get somebody's [GuildNote] (you can only read people's guildnotes if they're in your own guild) depending on the range they are.

I hope this all makes sense, if so what can be done to go around this 'bug' or w/e it is to make fetch guild names and ranks when people aren't near you. Further I've no idea how the fetching is actually working and if this is simple matter or not.
