    Question about whisper functionality:

If a player whispers for a buff, for example,
    /w Uberpallydude !buff -bol +bow

...is this considered an "exception buff" (10 minute blessing) and will ZOMGBuffs treat it as such so that I will be told when that 10 minute blessing is expiring/expired?

Should it be enabled when you are dismounted? I find that it's a bit annoying as I do most of my navigation with mouselook on the right button. Of course I'm assuming all bombing quests require you to be mounted. I haven't done any dailies on the Isle yet. Maybe not.

Perhaps the ability to configure the dblclk speed would be helpful. Even while navigating in flight it tends to get in the way. Or maybe if there was a configurable modifier that would "arm" it?

    Cheers

It's just a display. It doesn't handle any of the data communication between the mods. PitBull is not X-Perl. X-Perl is a unit frame mod that *also* handles CTRA, etc. compatablility, and deals with more than just MT frames. PitBull is just unit frames. It allows you to view the MT list in PitBull frames (so that they match the rest of your UI). That's all.

Indeed, that would be a perfect explanation to go into the FAQ. ;)

it really needs to detect the CT/oRA MTs without having to have those apps installed as well...

Wait...having CTRA installed by the person wishing to use PitBull, even though they aren't the RL, is required to have MT functionality in PitBull?

If so, sure could have used that nifty piece of advice when I posted almost two months ago.

Yeah, yeah, I know, screenshot links in my posts are no longer valid. (As of the first week of this year)

Feature Request: How 'bout an FAQ entry on this or a little text in the Config UI that lists or explains this "requirement".

I have skipped over this issue when going through the Jira tickets for a few reasons - one, it's quite possibly user error (raid leader is not setting the MTs, or is using the wrong system - Blizz or oRA/CTRA); two, the linked screenshots in that ticket no longer exist, so I wasn't able to see exactly what the issue was. Can you provide screenshots or a better explanation of exactly what's happening?

Here is a link to my original posts in the forums.

    http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=8435.msg156901#msg156901

There are several messages in sequence that attempt to explain the issue.

Unfortunately, I didn't receive any troubleshooting feedback and the screenshots there, of course, are retired with the site that went down at the beginning of the year. It was after awaiting feedback that I decided to log it as a bug. As I stated in the JIRA, I will re-up the screenshots and provide valid links on my new server.

When you say "or is using the wrong system - Blizz or oRA/CTRA", are you stating that these are the "wrong systems"? It was my understanding that those three were compatible with PitBull.

My assumptions are that the Raid Leader is indeed setting the MT "properly" since the MT bar in X-Perl is loading with no apparent issues. I have also confirmed that he is using CTRA. The version of which, I'm not sure as of this posting but I can get that info and supplement the JIRA along with the updated screenshots.

I wish the Pitbull thread was easier to find information.
I did look and there is some talk of my issue but i cannot resolve it.

I currently use Pitbull for my priest.
During raids I would like to see the Main Tank window, MT target and MT targets target
I was not able to get it working via Pitbull so I loaded oRa2.
I read this could assist Pitbull in obtaining MT info.

I created a group, assigned MT and my bars did not show.

Is there a good way to get MT windows to work in Pitbull ?

I am having this exact same issue. I logged a JIRA on it (http://jira.wowace.com/browse/PB-159) but it doesn't appear to have been researched by the assignee. Although PB-77 describes a similar if not the same issue and it was resolved by updating the listener to something oRa2 specific.

Really wish this would get resolved as I prefer Pitbull over X-Perl. I would prefer not to have to run a hybrid configuration of the two simply to have my MT group displayed.

Would really appreciate any feedback as to why my Main Tanks and Main Tank's Targets are not showing up in raid. I posted descriptions and screenshots of my raid UI as well as the configuration screens on page 30 of this thread.

    http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=8435.msg156901#msg156901

Again, to restate, Main Tanks and Main Tank's Targets are enabled in my Pitbull configuration but they are not showing up while I'm raiding.

Would also like to see screenshots of relevant configurations where this IS working for users of this addon.

    Thanks,

And here is a screen snippet of my Pitbull config while in raid configuration where by all appearances, "Main Tanks" are enabled, but as you can see in my first screenshot, the Main Tanks (and Main Tank's Targets) are not showing up.

If it is a conclusion that this is indeed a bug, I'll be more than happy to post a JIRA but I wanted to rule out user error before assuming it's a bug.

And here is a screenshot of my configuration. Based on everything I know about this mod, the main tanks and the main tank's targets "should" be showing up in my raid (see previous screenshot).

Something is amiss with version-54194.4. As I have reported previously, once I disable (i.e. Main Tanks) and never figuring out how to get it back, I decided to post a screenshot to see if that won't help visualize what I'm trying to describe. When I say "disable" and then "can't get it back", I assume I go to "Extra Units" and click on the items that I had previously disabled. Doing so, places these items back in the configuration tree in the left pane however the frames do not show up when I'm in a raid. I won't embed it in this post as it is rather large, so here is a link to it (You'll notice, that according to the configuration, Main Tanks and Main Tank's Targets are "enabled", but they do not appear in my raid frames):

Profiles do not carry over between toons well with Pitbull. I set a profile on one toon, and copied it using another and tons of features were wrong/missing. Kind of frustrating as I have to go through the process for each one.

I'm guessing this will not be fixed as people have been talking about this for a while it seems.

Is there any documentation or a tutorial somewhere that explains how these profiles are saved? I've spent a decent amount of time with this mod and it seems every time I log in, everything is reset.

    Just a simple tutorial like.

    1) Login
    2) Change configuration mode to "Raid" (or "Party" or whatever)
    3) Move all frames into position, disable, enable, size, scale, icons, portraits, etc. etc.

What I'm looking for is the next step as it seems to be crucial. I've tried the following

-- with everything set the way I want, I go to the Global settings, lock it down, close the config window then logout.
--- result? I log in, change mode to "Raid", everything is reset

-- with everything set the way I want, I go to the profile node, it's already set to my Character (i.e not default), I then close the config window and log out.
--- result? I log in, change mode to "Raid", everything is reset

What am I missing such that my configuration persists between sessions? I'm befuddled and am unable to figure this out. So am I asking if anyone knowledgeable can provide a simple step-by-step tutorial or link to some pre-existing documentation. All I've seen is the wiki which briefly explains the features, not how to configure it.

A SAVE button would go a long way with this mod. Simply a save dialog sequence that gives the user confidence that they have committed the changes to the disk. As it is now, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to determine how and when it is saved. Immediately? upon logout?

And I'm still having the problem of not "getting back" configuration options or frames for items I had previously disabled. For instance, last night during Khara, I wanted to setup the main tanks and their targets. I see them in the config tree, they are currently "enabled", as evidenced by the "disabled" box being unchecked however they are nowhere to be found in my interface.

I'm hoping this is just user error on my part and I'm simply not looking in the right place. A nudge in the right direction would be huge as I'm excited about this mod. It immediately had an impact on my overhealing due to the visual aid of estimating the current cast. Again, great, great mod. Just wished I knew how to save configurations and bring back frames I had previously disabled.

Trying like mad to get this get the layouts to save. A couple of issues with the version I'm working with: version-53016.44

    1) Whenever I disable a frame group (i.e. Player, Pet, Pet's Target, Target, etc.), the "node" for that frame disappears from the Pitbull config tree (left hand pane of config interface). I read somewhere that disabled frames will end up in a "Disabled" branch of the config. I cannot find this (given that it still functions in this manner). How do you get these disabled items back into the config. Is this a bug? And if it is disabled and it's the intention of the design to remove the node from the selection tree, that's a bit awkward. Why not just leave it there and let the user simply toggle the "Enable" switch?

    2) How do you SAVE what you have? I spent about 30 minutes getting my raid layout the way I wanted it, then switched to the Solo configuration, then went back to raid and everything was reset? Lost all of the frame positions, size, scales etc. Furthermore, several of the frames I disabled "Main Assist", "Main Assist's Target" appear again...but then there is no corresponding node in the left pane (tree control).

I'm new to this so it's very likely I'm missing something somewhere and my intuition is spent. Any pointers or advice for what I have described?

    Thanks.

If anybody has any problems with UAC and WAU, the following will fix your problems:
    1. Right click the World of Warcraft folder in C:/Program Files
    2. Security tab
    3. First "Edit" button
    4. Add
    5. In the textarea, write your windows logon name and hit the Check Names button
    6. In the Groups or User Names area, find your windows logon name and click it
    7. In the checkboxes below, hit Full Control
    8. Hit Apply
    9. Hit OK
    10. Wait
    11. ???
    12. Profit!

Unfortunately, that didn't do the trick for me (assuming your post was in response to mine).

The "Wow Install Directory" variable still bounces back to the "Documents" directory under my user/account folder structure.

Turning off UAC, as suggested by the developer, isn't an option. Are there other possible workarounds or a non-dotNET version of the updater that's still functioning?

EDIT: My noob question has been answered in another thread. Please disregard the question. I'll have a go at one of the other updaters.

I have a strange problem with Wowaceupdater 1.9.44 on my laptop. No matter what i do i can't get it to save my "WoW Install Directory" in preferences. It defaults to C:\Users\Arsenal\Documents every time i open the Preferences panel. I can use the browse button to select my wow directory ok, but clicking "Ok" never saves it. In fact i can choose any directory and it doesn't save it, so its not just my WoW directory.

All other options in the Preferences panel save correctly.

Its probably worth noting that i'm using an Apple Macbook Pro and running Vista under bootcamp, but this is the first program i've come across any issues with... and even then i can't see why it would be related.

Ditto here. I came searching in the forums to see if anyone else had come across this. Also, I noticed the version number on the update page is incorrect or the binary hasn't been updated. The app says ".654", the install page says ".656".

Oops..forgot to add that I'm running Vista Business (32 bit)
