Unfortunately I have looked for a log file in vain. If I had a log file then that might help to explain why it is failing to start. Where might I find a log file for this app on a Windows XP system.
Please Note: It is not even creating the temp folders for the app or the XML files, at least that I can find.
OK, this makes no sense to me whatsoever. I have installed WAU on two systems. One was Windows Vista Ultimate and that worked PERFECTLY. Went smoother then silk.... The other? Oh lord what a frustration. I spent over 4 hours trying to get WAU to work on a Windows XP Pro system, with no luck. The only thing I can figure is that WAU is not compatible with Norton 360, but I have not made that determination for sure.
I went through every tech note and recommendation I could find. I even removed the .NET frameworks, all of them, from the effected system and re-installed them. All to no avail.
All that happens on this system is that a window flashes VERY briefly and if you have the task manager open, you can see the program load for about 10 seconds then disappear again.
I am at my wits end with this one, and I am no standard end user. But, my partner really wants this, so I want to know how to fix it.
I would LOVE to see someone who knows this app, respond with a solution or a link to the older version at least for now so that I can get him working with something.
I support the use of the .NET framework, and from what I have seen on Vista, this is one of the more useful tools for WoW I have downloaded. I just have to make this work on XP.
