    I have disabled all addons except KC Items and Lib: Ace2 (which in turn enables the following libraries due to dependencies, I assume: Abacus-2.0, Abacus-3.0, Dewdrop-2.0, Tablet-2.0). The tooltip client fps drop / client freeze still occurs.

    I ran a scan today and luckily it happened to Primal Mana this time. Using wowhead's "item link" numbers to identify the corresponding line in the KC_Items.lua saved variables file, I deleted the line under the "KC_ItemsDB, namespaces, AuctionSpy" section and saved the file. I started the client, moused over the Primal Mana and the issue was gone as was the auction pricing data. This is the line I deleted:

    ["22457:0:0:0:0:0:0:0"] = "4,-2,1,1.05;159410,142641,20420,249500;169067,154117,29557,129200;0,-47038,0,196000;",

    I'm guessing that is saved auction pricing data and some value or character there is invalid.

    By item specific, I didn't mean it always happens to the same items any time the issue surfaces. I meant once the issue surfaces, you can logically assume something happened to that item's saved data this time, because you can mouse in and out over the affected item and experience the client temporarily freezing.

    I can delete the saved variables file, rename the backup so it gets used and everything's ok. I do a scan once maybe twice a week, and a week or two later after a scan, the issue happens to a different item(s).

    Has anything become of the data corruption or tooltip lag issues?

    I think I am experiencing a tooltip fps lag issue. Deleting the saved variables file and reinstating the back up file removes the lag, so the data corruption issues may be related.


    Here are the details:

    Everything seems fine. No tooltip lag. I scan the AH. After it completes, I mouse over some items in my bags to see if prices are updated. When mousing over certain items (It does not appear to be random. It seems to be item specific), the game freezes for a good 10+ seconds until the tooltip appears. I can mouse out, mouse over the same item and the issue happens again. I can revert to the last saved variables file and the issue no longer happens. Because of this, I assume the data for that item was corrupted, saved and is causing a tooltip display issue?

    I've done some troubleshooting with this "GetShortSpellIcon" error referring to AceLocale 2.2. It seems to be coming from AuldLangSyne.

    Disabling AuldLangSyne prevents the error. Going back to AuldLangSyne r12465 also prevents the error. (Nexus6 reports in that addon's thread http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=1668.40 r12465 is the last correcty working version)

    Enjoy and Beroll, can you confirm that AuldLangSyne is causing this error for you two, also?

    For the differing opinions on whether or not to display a cooldown because it's cooldown time may be a bit long. (5 minute Pally cooldowns). How about we go about making it functional in another way.

    Such as displaying all cooldowns (regardless of how long they are), but include some way to clear bars. Maybe a hot key to clear all Antagonist bars being displayed. Or maybe the ability to clear an individual bar at the user's choice by alt, ctrl or shift + clicking it.

    Hm, about the removable of individual bars, I wonder if you can keep them "ClickThrough" unless you're holding a key, like ctrl/alt/shift. I recall the HostileBar titles (Buffs, Durations, Cooldowns) being clickable and it got in the way of clicking world objects and right clicking to move the camera.

    Ha, I don't have a definite answer. Just brainstorming.

    I agree. When I was first looking at shardtracker type addons, I passed Necrosis because of the way it looks. ST ncs displays that same info in 4 small icons on the minimap. It looks much cleaner.

    I imagine an Aced ST could work well with Timex for things like the soulstone cooldown reminder.

    Nice gear, Sariash! Im trying to get into an organized raiding guild atm.
    About the memory use, 100k is the highest Ive ever seen it reach and Ive only seen that once. It can be around 15k when Im in a major city, but when I get out and start doing things, its typically around 50k-70k. I do use a lot of addons (addons are so fun!), but removing ST ncs alone, drops that increasing memory usage down to 15k-30k.

    Hmm. I wouldn't know how to close ST's OnUpdate frame. I don't know a lot about coding from scratch. I just learn syntax formats and edit things.

    I had a feeling the shard sorting was a problem. I've read how bag events can cause a lot of problems. I disabled auto-sorting in hopes of gaining some performance, because clicking the icon to sort them manually was good enough. But, that didnt seem to make an difference. I get the feeling it's another case where the addon is running that code, even though you "disable" it. Much like raid frames in Nymbia's Perl Unit Frames.

    I took a look at Rowne's Timex and his attitude behind creating that timer system is exactly what I dream to be done to ShardTracker NCS. Make this thing tiny and efficient.

    Hello Everyone

    First off and simply put. Ace and its main programmers are the future of wow addons. I've come to a point where I can't stand how inefficiently some addons are programmed and the consequences they bring to my client and my game experience. Garbage collection game pauses every few minutes are really bringing me down..

    Im hoping a memory efficient Ace programmer plays warlock, because I'd like to make a request. :-| The main addon for the warlock class, ShardTracker NCS, has huge memory problems. Using Titan Panel's Performance plugin, my "increasing memory usage" rate bounces anywhere between 60-100kbps which makes the client pause for garbage collection every few minutes. However, it's the defacto addon for the warlock class and it's utility is of great use. Would any of the memory/performance conscience programmers be up to the challenge of acing the functionality of this addon into an efficiently running addon? My main is warlock and I can volunteer as a guinea pig, as Im lvl 60 with every ability. I also raid and pvp (world and bg) a lot.

    A little history on ShardTracker. There is a ShardTracker and a ShardTracker NCS. ShardTracker is the original and was dependent on all the cosmos bloat. A user named Gottac removed all Cosmos dependencies and added further functionality and gave it the name ShardTracker NCS (NCS standing for No Cosmos, Sea, I think). The original suffered from being a memory hog and has not been touched since March. ST NCS is suffering from the same thing and it doesnt look like Gottac is able to pin point the problem either. So here I am, lying before the mercy of Ace efficiency asking if anyone (Preferably someone with Rowne's attention to optimization :D ) can write a new optimized Ace addon that provides the functionality of ShardTracker NCS.
