Since there's no readme file in the php folder of the dkpmon_eqdkp I am assuming the php file to export into game is put into the eqdkp root directory?

I'm having issues with standby not working, even with people that have the same version. It's just not working on my end.

Ok, now that the forums are up, is it just me or did the Rolling Restarts this morning disable some functionality of the UI's? Anytime someone /bid query's me or when I go to open bids, I crash, and everyone crashs's.

It's almost like they turned off something. It was working fine last night.

Edit. I guess I shouldn't say crash. It sends me back to the login screen, no error messages at all.

    Quote from Dahn »

As soon as the patch is live I'll merge my eqDKP changes in my branch.  I've tested on the Beta and it seems okay.  Unfortunately without a willing group of my normal raid members, I wasn't able to fully test it.  Eraslin, when you get a chance to review the DKPmonInit changes for rollback into trunk, I'd appreciate it.  Now that I'm back from travels, I can get moving again on the other changes I've made and get them posted as well.

I have a reasonable understanding of eqDKP and I'm not aware of any direct CSV support, import or export.  I wrote the CSV export as part of the support I added to DKPmonInit.  The most complete and robust import is currently for XML data generated with the modded eqDKP CT_RaidTracker.  There is a link for it earlier in the thread.

The benefit of eqDKP is that the database gets saved in an external site and is reviewable/managed there.  While I like the in game redundancy built into DKPmon, as other have noted, the guild overall trusts the open access to reviewing DKP values on a web site.  This helps flag issues very quickly, usually in the form of polite but firm PM's to me <grin>.

The nice thing about the current design is that it is standalone and doesn't require the web site.  Everything is in-game.

I like the bidding UI mechanism and that all loot is announced at once.  This is the most used feature for our team.  The accounting I don't use except during the raid since we use eqDKP after the raid.  During the raid, we deduct winner's points as we go but do not award any points.  The database syncing we're not currently using and it is likely that will be a precautionary measure only to avoid crashes wiping in raid data.  CSV import we're not using at all.

I've not yet written an item value dump for eqDKP but that is coming.  This would take the last non-zero value for each item from the database and export it.

The best site for eqDKP info is forums.eqdkp.com.  There isn't much in the way of architecture description anywhere that I've found, I've learned it directly from the PHP code and browsing the mySQL database.

Curious, what eqDKP changes did you do to it? Also, the bad thing about using CT Raid Tracker on top of this is that it's now a 2 step process of doing loot and making sure that each person was added to CTRT properly if they are on the wait list.

Ideally, what would benifit the most I think to everyone that uses this program is to have an output exactly like CTRT does to eqDKP otherwise the people taking care of the points are now micromanaging again.

This is just my suggestion. I love this program you have worked so hard on and now that I have my guild using it they love it as well. Dahn's point about visually seeing the points on a website is also my guild's biggest problem with it, no matter how fast we've started to get loot done and continue on clearing, hence the suggestion of making the export to an eqdkp plugin. CTRT just takes too many steps to export. After your raid is full, you need to make sure that you manually add each person on the wait list by hand, then delete the 2nd occurance of them in the raid once they join, remove them if they are no longer on the waitlist, manually add points to items that are already in a database, adding items by hand if 2 people loot at the same time etc etc etc. Now we're talking about using time again instead of getting mobs dead. Again I am just pointing out suggestions and I wish I could help with code development but alas I can't.
If there's anyway I can help out with testing let me know and I will gladly do so.

    Couple of simple things.

How do I delete someone from the DB? How do I edit people's points? I must not be doing something right because even saving the LUA it just re writes it.

    Eraslin,

I really couldn't get screenshots of this, but anything that has to do with using bidder to check points by /bid query or trying to change if you're looting your on your main or your alt causes the person using DKPmon to crash.

I'm still trying to time it right to get screenshots but you don't get any errors in game just a fatal exception out of game.

I told my guys on pain of death not to use the /bid menu while im handing out loot lol.

I deleted everything and started from scratch, I had a borked file somewhere. It works fine now, I walked through the entire process step by step 10 times jsut to make sure.

However, I did find a nasty crash bug, a raid member went to /bid query, at the same time I hit open bidding on a new set of items.

Other then that, great mod. This will cut down on loot to raid resume dramaticaly.

Another bug with the newest version.

Award\actions.lua:341: bad argument #3 to `format' (string expected, got nil)
    <in C code>: in function `format'
    Award\actions.lua:341: in function `AwardZeroSumPnts'
    Award\gui.lua:219: in function <Interface\AddOns\DKPmon\Award\gui.lua:219>

And it's missing the Metrognome 2.0 Lib.

I apologize in advance if this isn't where I should posting bugs for you, kinda new at this.

Bug's fixed. Just grab the latest from DKPmon from wowace.com/files/DKPmon for now.

As for adding "Yoursister", it's actually very easy to do. You need to edit your <WoW>\WTF\<Accountname>\SavedVariables\DKPmon.lua file. So, just exit WoW and open that file up in a text editor. In that file you'll see the line:
    ["points"] = {

Just add this right after the very first instance of that line:
    ["Yoursister"] = { ["info"] = { ["class"] = "UNKNOWN }, ["points"] = {} },

Then, whenever you're awarding points you have to be sure to select "Yoursister" from the database pulldown in the awards frame and check the "DB" checkbox.

Thanks for the bug fix, I'm starting to really love this thing. About the Yoursister question, I think I didn't explain it properly what I was asking about. What I want to do is be able to right click the "Winner" and have Yoursister always there as an option to choose from. What we do is on loot that is not bid on we award it to "yoursister" and remove the points from her, give them to the guild. So basically I want her to auto bid on every item.

Thanks for the help in advance. I can see this mod going places.

I'm getting a Interface\Addons\DKPMon\Award\actions.lua:378:attempt to perform arthimatic on global 'standby' (a nil value)

every time I try to award points with people on the Standby list using the ZeroSum ruleset. Otherwise it seems to be running smoothly.

One question. How hard would it be to add a static name to the bidders list, for example, we use an imaginary character named Yoursister who we use to keep the relative points at zero and who we also use for items that are sharded. I'm not an LUA writer so I have no clue how that could be handled.
