I've searched both the WoWAce forums as well as the general Internet for info on the bar fading/smoothing functionality that was present in earlier versions of Pitbull. I couldn't find this feature in the Pitbull4 settings, and if it's not implemented, is there any word on when it'll be added?

    Any thoughts on this?

EDIT - It seems using classes OTHER than a warrior result in fading working. When I log onto my warrior, fading DOES NOT work.

I deleted my Inifnibar-2.0.lua config file, and logged onto a paladin. I made a test bar, and changed opacity to 1% - it WORKED.

I logged off my paladin, onto a warrior, and tried the same thing. This time, the buttons did NOT fade.

The state fading option doesn't seem to work anymore, the "Fade When Empty" checkbox works correctly, but when I drag the slider above it down to 1% (what I used before to have invisible bars I could still modify) all my buttons remain at 100% opacity.

Is there a fix to this? I've tried older versions out, including ones where state fading used to work, to no avail. Please help!

I did indeed search before posting this, no other threads were current as of 2.4, nor did they describe the problem in as much detail.

Well, this problem is resolved. Installing the external lib for talent inspection allows for cross-realm inspection. I, however, have removed all talent tags from my unitframes and tooltips, as in 2.4 talent inspection for hostile units was removed.

Confirmed, this functionality is not available. Blizz's default bars are not able to do this.

In further testing, players from other realms never show talent info in Cowtip, and thus not in Pitbull either. I have found other threads that pertain to this issue, but not in such depth. One does, however, cover the cross-realm problem. I will try their "fix" out, which is to revert to an old version. Someone, I believe and author, came in and said he fixed the problem of cross-realm talents...not so at all.

Thanks for the response, but there's no fix because querying talents results in a delay? The delay seems fine to me, it's the problem of not being able to get talents from PitBull alone and the problem of not geting able to get talents if a target is already selected. If I select "Bob" I can't get his talents whatsoever until I deselect him, then mouseover. If Cowtip isn't installed, I will never get his talents. Do these problems spring from Blizz's API implementation?

I've noticed a very annoying bug with the method talents are pulled from your targets by CowTip and Pitbull. When both are enabled, you may only "get" talents from a character if you mouseover them, without selecting them. For example, if I click on "Char A," Char A's talents will NOT show up. If I try to mouseover him, his talents will STILL not show up (I've tested this, having a target selected and mouseovering him for 30 seconds to no avail). It is only when I deselect Char A and mouseover for 2-3 seconds, am I finally able to see talents. Needless to say, this is both annoying, and problematic in PvP.

Is this phenomenon well-known? I find it very annoying, and hopefully there is, or will be, a fix.

    EDIT:

In further testing, disabling CowTip completely disables Pitbull showing talents. It seems Pitbull can't pull talents, but rather depends on CowTip to do so.

When Pitbull is disabled, CowTip can pull talents and display them, but still CANNOT do so if the character has been targeted. Basically, if you want to see talents on a new character approaching you (in PvP for example) you cannot target him without mouseovering him for 2-3 seconds first. This, as stated before many times, is very annoying.

    Simpler Version:
-Pitbull seems to not be able to pull talents without CowTip running.
-CowTip can only pull talents when mouseovered a target for 2-3 sec (normal) WITHOUT the target being selected (should not be normal).

    Extra Info:
I'm using [TalentSpec] as my DogTag command, very simple, and it returns a simple XX/XX/XX.
I'm using embedded libs in my Addons (downloaded in .zips from files.wowace.com) so disabling CowTip and Pitbull not being able to pull talents should be a valid concern...
