Yes, it is possible.
No, I won't put this in.
In the future, please direct feature requests and bug reports to my WoWI portal, as very rarely read this thread, even when posting version update replies.
Sep 11, 2006I think that we, as developers, need to move away from the "dedicated forum thread" paradigm for releasing addons. It, frankly, sucks. Georgely, even.Posted in: General AddOns
Perhaps a singe forum for annoucements, locked so that new posts cannot be made. In that forum, have one thread for each X-Category where authors can post a reply with an announcement, link to download, link to a wiki page (or WOWI page or Curse page or whatever).
When people post replies to these threads like "zomg great addon" or "I found a bug", someone with power needs to go in and delete these posts; no warning, no moving, no mercy.
Oh, and stop with the dedicated FuBar threads. FuBar is not a category, it is a dependancy.

please get rid of all those stupid sub forums or at least reduce their number dramatically. like: raid, class specific, fubar, other.
Out of curiosity, why do FuBar plugins get a catagory of their own?
"Duh, Theo, because you need FuBar to use them."
Right... but so what? FuBar is a required dependancy, not a pointer towards what an addon is good for.
Sep 9, 2006:) I run at 8x6 while I code... gets nasty in raids. (Yes, raiding is that boring for me. Yay paladins.)Posted in: Libraries
If the slider comes from an AceConsole table, though, we can set stuff from the command line, can't we? (Though I guess only if it's registered there... hrm.)
Sep 9, 2006How is the SVN any better than uploading it to WoWInterface for the people here?Posted in: General AddOns
As it stands now, SVN hosting benefits two classes of people: Authors and Developers.
For the masses, going to svn.wowace.com/files is just as easy (or difficult) as surfing wowinterface.com and tacking stuff up on their favourites list. Harder, actually, as scrolling through the /files/ list is a bit of a pain to figure out what's been updated recently.
Sep 2, 2006Presumably the client knows how much damage both you and your pet have done. Just hook in and suck up all those numbers. Then you can stick a thing on screen that gives you a simple ratio. Just don't let the ratio go over 1.1 while your pet has agro. try to get the number under .9 if you have agro.Posted in: Addon Ideas
Only useful while soloing, unless you want an assload of communication spam. In that case, just use klhtm
Aug 30, 2006That's a bad reason to shun him.Posted in: Addon Ideas
Without getting into a big "capitalism vs. communism" argument, let me just comment that there's a big "capitalism vs. communism" argument that could be entered into around this. (I will also refrain from pointing out the irony of using methods of capitalism (i.e., boycott) to bring about communist ideals.)
Again, I think the better reason to shun this type of information farming is the creation of competitions and blame-games.
Lag isn't the reason raid leaders (that I know) dislike addons like DamageMeters and SWStats.
I *do* use Recap (with Parserlib, of course) so that I can test specs and monitor my overhealing. I don't feel any need to run the communication stuff to sync random numbers with other people.
