TinyTip v2 has been in beta for a while. I've lost time to do the one thing I hate -- making options GUIs. Unfortunately, I love making things complex enough for an options GUI. You can see where my priorities lack the options GUI now.

I've decided to continue developing TinyTip without an options GUI. Since I'm a bleeding heart, I'd rather give people what they want, and people like options GUIs. So if anyone wants to assist, just contact me and we can work something out.

    hello again,

sadly not, the menu aint working right.
for example when u select the "no border"-option the menu will display "blizzard default" or how it was called (dont remember atm the right menu name but u get the picture) and not all tooltip frames are set to "no border" , only the npc tooltips are set to no border and the pc/spell/etc tooltips display standard blizzard border.
another option , the "display target of target in tooltip" is also buggy , when u select it it will show on most tooltips, but on some it will show "skill not learnable" (this is a translation so not exatct words either since i play on a german client)

if u want u can say that the addon menu ist working "partially" but not really working.

    greetings
    Ayo~

TinyTip only affects Unit Tooltips right now.

As for "Skill not learnable" in German clients, WTF is up with that.

And the only way to do this update is by polling who everyone is targetting every second, consuming a lot of CPU time, and lowering FPS by a substantial amount. (No event fires for group/raid target changes hence there is no other way).

UNIT_TARGET fires for player, party, raid, and pet. Look at PerfectTargets v0.3 for usage of UNIT_TARGET.

But that's just a red herring. Right, you can't make dynamically clickable frames anymore with 2.0.

If you'd like to see this in TinyTip, go to http://code.google.com/p/thrae-wow/issues/list and add it as a feature request, and I'll look into it (hopefully this weekend).

The main thread for TinyTip is http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=11896.0.

Is what im getting for an error when i try /tinytip or /ttip

This is because you do not have TinyTipOptions installed. Get that from WAU or my SVN. I'll fix the bug where it gives an error dialog instead of TinyTip itself giving an error.

I'll work on hardcoding this in tinytip for myself but i tough it would be a good feature to suggest.

Have an option to make it show
"Targeted by[8]: Jhonni, Bobby, Priestitute, Coldfury,
    Luciius, Huffs, Opi, Ron."

instead of having 2 Targeted by, one for party /w 1 line per name and 1 for raid.

Well your party is in your raid, so you can disable Party while in Raid, or I can make an option to do so. You really want to show possibly up to 40 names?

I read through here and in game options....how do I turn off the health bar?

Not implemented yet. Feel free to post it on http://code.google.com/p/thrae-wow/issues/list

Is there an event or handler fired when you leave an npc/player from hovering?

No, not really. If the GameTooltip is hidden, OnHide is called -- however, that's -after- it's done fading. Problem is, you could quickly mouseover something else before it actually hides. If it's something in the game world (like a sign), then the tooltip could become corrupt if I don't handle it carefully.

I can't get this Tooltip Anchor-thingy to work.

    I've TinyTip & TinyTipOptions.
I've deleted the old wtf files before. In TinyTipOptions i've set both options to "cursor" (and nothing else changed!).After that i've restarted WoW...and also tried /console reloadui.
He saves the settings....but he doesn't take care of them.Any ideas?

Odd. Try checking out TinyTipPositioning to run alongside TinyTip and see if that works.

How can I turn off this Fading thing? It didn't do it in previous versions, but whenever I leave a unit with my cursor the tooltip takes like 10 seconds to fade out and is rather annoying. I looked in the options and could not find anytihng.

Disabling the fade-out effect is not simple, since there's no event or handler fired when the tooltip starts fading. I think I'm going to have to go back to my old way of using an OnUpdate script, which I hate.

I fixed the bigger bugs (ResetDatabase, Scaling not taking effect immediately, Interface Options popping up). Thanks for putting them on my GCode list. Need to look into why some people have trouble with anchors and offsets and others do not.

WoW 2.4 update. All reported bugs should be addressed, especially for TinyTipOptions, which has been recoded to use AceConfig-3.0.

Well I said I wouldn't read this thread, but I'm at work and multitasking...anyway, the options not committing is a known issue, found here:

    http://code.google.com/p/thrae-wow/issues/detail?id=28

Usually a /console reloadui will fix the problem until I have time to commit a hotfix. Unfortunately, I've been rather sick lately, bad time for me with 2.4 out now.

PS: why googlecode, opposed to the wowace versioning system thingy they have here?

I use WAU for "Stable" betas only, and the WoW community doesn't encompass just WoWAce. I thought it would be best to use something neutral.

Would it be possible for TinyTip to hook and display MRP's circular icon alongside the tooltip if the player being moused-over has MRP installed?

This way, a TinyTip user could quickly identify people who are using MRP, without having to sacrifice their personal TinyTip layout.

I could look into this, but honestly, I'd rather just recode the whole damn "Roleplayer's Tooltip" paradigm, or at least a well-coded framework to work off of (which I'm half-way there).

Edit: Oh, and since 2.4 came today, I'm going to be even busier, and may not read this forum for a while. Hence why I ask people to use GCode's Trac system ;)

There are very good development reasons to use a bug-tracking system. You are a lazy ass. I am going to find your character name and make TinyTip delete all your characters.

Aaaaanyway, I've been working on the issues as well as Buffs and Raid Icons. They should be done whenever I have time.

Now, being an occasional roleplayer myself, and hating all "MyRoleplay", etc. addons, here are some ideas to make WoW more RP-ish...

    - "RPLevel", which changes player level # into "Very Weak", "Weak", "Equal", "Strong", "Very Strong".
    - "RPVisible", which only shows the 2nd line (Level, Race, Classification) if the unit within visible range.

Other features I am considering off the top of my head:

    - Option for Talent info in the tooltip from inspection.
    - Option for Talent spec "nicknames" replace class (Holy Paladin --> Healadin, Shadow Priest --> DPS Priest, Feral Druid --> DRUID FOR FITE, Enhancement Shaman -> GIMPED SHAMAN, etc.)
    - Option to show "Low Mana" as text, or perhaps some type of icon instead of a full mana bar.

Hmm, as a Rogue, I really prefer the simple icon for debuffs/buffs, not filtered by "curable" or not. Also I'm not entirely sure what you mean by a text display for debuffs etc. Does that mean the tooltip would have a list of every debuff above it, like:

    Vile Beam
    Prismatic Aura: Holy
    Fatal Attraction
    ...... etc

Or did you mean it would have a single indicator like:

    MaPo

standing for the mob has at least 1 or more magic and poison debuffs? What about debuffs without a type, like Hamstring or Ressurection Sickness?

You would enter into the options text box for debuff text strings, "Expose Armor". TinyTipBuffs would then search for the string "Expose Armor" in the list of debuffs, add "Expose Armor", then the count of the number of this debuff. Example:

    _______
    Name
    Etc.
    Expose Armor (3)
    _______

You could also make your own abbreviation for "Expose Armor", like "EA".

    _______
    Name
    Etc.
    EA (3)
    _______

The other stuff, like "Po" for Poison, etc. was in the original TinyTip, but I guess not a lot of people used it. I'll re-implement it anyway, since it's painfully simple.

Anyway, as I said, I'm not entirely sure how the text buffs/debuffs would work, and while it may be preffered by some, I just want to add in my vote for the old icons, or at least an option to run those as a plugin or module.

They were going to be implemented vote or not, it was just a matter of priority. Now my priority is on icons first, then the text crap. TinyTip is suppose to be infinitely tiny with infinite simplicity while allowing an infinite number of features.

EDIT: I'll repost this on your google page thing, I just think forums offer a lot better "back and forth" conversation between users and developers, which is why I used this thread first.

You didn't really need to request "Buff Icons" officially since I already said I'd work on it here, but OK. Just don't discuss new features over there. List a feature request, if it's not already there, but feel free to also post here about it too. Just be sure to list it there first. Here is where you discuss the GCode posted requests for new features.
