Gotta say I would also love to be able to save the actual healers that are assigned. That way I can do out healing assignments for the entire run at the start and just load and broadcast them as needed.

Apart from that is that any Ace2 buffing mod.. not the automatic kind but for easy raid buffing

I push my DPS to the limit. I am #1 any time I can get a decently synched meter. I specced 15/31/5 for the sole purpose of raid DPS. I know how much I can push out, and I know when to scale back. Today was our first KTM mandatory run, and it actually caused me to draw aggro a few times before I started to ignore it. I was so busy watching those stupid little bars that I didn't notice the string of backstab crits that sent me rocketing above his threat.
And you know what else? The people who usually pull aggro on raids, they were still doing it. You know, the Hunters that go all out DPS and then feign after the Molten Giant sets its eyes on them, to leave the melee chasing the thing around while it beats down healers. Every raid has at least one, I'm convinced.
"Well what about the people that usually hold back?" you may ask, "surely they were able to DPS more, confident that they will not draw aggro". Wrong, most people that don't go all-out do it because they're skating through the instance. The slackers that never even place top 15, despite their constant attendance and steady accumulation of epics.
I'm sorry for the rant, I'm just not a fan of mandatory mods, the way I see it, if someone is incapable of handling their job in Molten Core, you stop taking them. It's really not a complex instance. Maybe there are a few fights in BWL where it could be useful, but from the way people talk, there haven't been any real aggro sensitive fights since BWL, and numerous guilds are clearing that without the crutch that is KTM.
Gotta keep in mind not all classes have instant threat reduction..
Mages locks in particular.
Rogue/Hunters can drop aggro if needs be.
However having said that I tend to notice that the threat monitor isnt always accurate so its a tough thing to rely on. Other times its been very accurate.
Then again Im a priest so I cant really comment :)

Would it be an idea to expand on this and have it track sunders on multiple targets? Maybe make the view it presents targetable? i.e. Little box with Target name, sunders and time since last sunder(or countdown ) Most applications are single target so it will still handle this no problem but it might be handy in certain cases
Anyway just my 2c

I have never used backdrops without a background file and a tilesize specified. Are you sure the edge will display if there is no background? Also, calling "Show" on this particular frame won't do anything. By specifying "hidden='false'", it should show up right on UI loading time.
Yeah thats what I thought. Ill add in the background information and see what happens though I would have thought that even though there isnt a visual clue that the Frame is there the button would still eb visible.

getglobal() is completely unnecessary in this instance. You can directly access your globals by just referencing their variables:
Yep I knew that it just didnt work so I tried adding the getglobal bit.
I am not getting any errors related to the xml. I am also nearly 100% sure that that function is getting called but Ill check again.
Is there any other reason why I would not be able to see what I have defined in the xml file? I know there is a something like the parent needs to be visible in order to see the child but since UIParent is the main wow interface frame I would have assumed that that is visible.
Ill check on the function to ensure it is running though wouldnt defining hidden="false" in the frame and button attributes have made it visisble anyway? I though that Show() would be just flagging this
Edit: As to Ace / Ace2 Im using neither at the moment. I just want to get something to display. Once I know I can handle that I can move onto the actual coding part.

I al new to the whole WoW addons thing and I wanted to plug about with designing a UI before getting into anything heavy. But for the life of me I cant figure out what I am doing wrong.
I am calling HealAssist.xml from HealAssist.toc
The contents of HealAssist.xml are as follows:

In my HealAssist.lua file I just have

I dont see anything when the mod is loaded. I was expecting a frame with a button in it but I am missing something.
Any help would be appreciated as this is annoying the hell outta me

HealCom is the one I was looking at for reference. Also there is an EU Azjol-Nerub HealSync mod which also does a similar sort of thing. The AN one is better but doesnt look as good. Both use a comm channel between healers to make things accurate. Also they both use a latency check when sending info.
Ill have a look into this one as well but as I said its unlikely Ill get the time to produce a finished Ace2 version.
