May 24, 2010Posted in: Unit FramesQuote from SeajewelTwo questions:
1. Is it possible to have the cast bar on top of the portrait? I put my portrait in the center horizontal between Health and Power bars, and would love to have the option of having it be replaced by the cast bar when there is a cast going off.
2. Is there any option to hide frames unless health or mana is not 100%, or if you're targeting someone, or in combat, etc.? If not, does anyone know the name of an external mod that could do this?
I've been a long time user of Pitbull, and I keep trying out pre-made OuF frames, but I just keep coming back to Pitbull because it is easy for me to configure and make look exactly the way I want. Those two features are the ones I miss the most from OuF tho. My apologies if these questions have been answered before or the answers are obvious. Thank you for your work in providing this unit frame mod, it is still my standby and I think it will remain that way.
Well number 2 is easy as Pitbull 4 comes with extensive options when it comes to fading. On the left of the config screen make sure combat fader is enabled under Modules section. Then go to the Layout editor section and directly under where you select the layouts there is a Faders tab which has the options you seek.
Mar 27, 2010Yes its Filger, looks like the Shestak UI author has changed it, his contains Filger.lua and Settings.lua and afaik everything is usually done with just Filger.lua also looks like his changed it to use spell ids. Apart from the preceding stuff the fact that some of it is in Russian probably didnt help matters when you tried to use the addon in your own UI. If you look through here you're bound to find some UIs with Filger set up, 95% certain if you take Filger from here it should work without any form of Tukui. That author has it setup for mages to show certain important raid debuffs and PVP stuff in specific areas of the UI, similar to the Shestak screenshot.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
Assuming you know how to mess with lua files (open with something like SciTE or notepad+ for best results) it should be fairly easy to learn how Filger works by looking at what other people have done. Just when u set config mode to true and you first log on to a char all the groups you've set up for that class while be in the center of your screen. Mouse over the square/bar with the group name and hold shift-ctrl-alt and drag the group to where u want it.
If you're looking for similar addons both sfilter and rfilter are configured with lua too. While Auracle and SBF have beefier in game options and prob more features, Auracle certainly does and SBF can track every frame (apart from raid ones I think) be careful not to creat too many groups and filters with SBF or u might run into performance issues.
Mar 13, 2010Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from xbeepsYes, there is a small gap. What exactly do you want to customize? I don't want to add a lot of customization just because "i can".
Well I'd mainly like to able to put a border around the icon, doesn't look very good to have the castbar with a sexy custom border and just leave the icon naked imo. Finally, hoping to not sound too demanding, any chance that the gap between the border and sides of the castbars can be removed? ;D
Mar 5, 2010Is it just me or is there a gap between the border and the castbar's top, bottom and right side? Also might be nice if you could customise the icon, size, pos, border all that jazz ;p Still enjoying this addon ofcPosted in: General AddOns
Jan 16, 2010Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from kagarohrmm did you have stuf configured with SavedPerChar variables?
No the Save Per Char checkbox is un-ticked (which I think is correct???). Emulated addon profiles seems for me to be VERY delicate with the copy command. Installing new addons seems to break it too even without switching charactors. Anyway I have since given up trying to get Stuf and Reflux to play nice and have switched to Pitbull.
Jan 14, 2010Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from kagaroill investigate
Hope u didnt investigate too hard. Tried again tonight and worked it perfectly likely cos I actually went to sleep last night. Addon is working great I have a feeling I didnt /reflux save after the reload following /reflux copy when i tried first. Sorry again
EDIT; LOL I'm waaaay too hasty. Im now 'pretty sure' the problem is switching charactors and then not using /reflux save. Log on CharactorX. Create reflux base0, which includes an emulated Stuf, setup ure addons and go /reflux save, backup this WTF ofc. Now /reflux create base1 then /reflex copy base0, Stuf is configured correctly and everything is fine. You can keep doing this I went to base5, copying from base0 each time and not using /reflux save for each.
Now wipe the WTF and install the backup WTF from earlier. Log CharactorY (all the addons will be at default ofc); /reflux switch base0, so far so good. Now /reflux create base1 and /reflux copy base0; Stuf has lost its settings from base0 and is in its default settings. Log CharactorX and again Stuf is in its default state (remember as far as this WTF folder is concerned CharX was saved to base0 and has never used base1) the Stuf settings from base0 have seemingly been wiped from existance. Ive managed to get the bug twice in a row by doing this. I then tried using /reflux save after going /reflux switch base0 (I noticed a message in chat 'saved StufDB'). Followed the usual procedure /create base1, /copy base0 and it worked correctly it copied over STufs setting from base0 to base1. I only did this once, hopefully this is the correct solution.
Apologies if you mentioned somewhere that u have to save when switchin profiles on different charactors before using the copy command. Still it doesnt seem like ideal behaviour, losing settings by just using the copy command.
Jan 11, 2010Edit2; I r dumb the following post is irrelevent and was a product of a sleep deprived brain.Posted in: General AddOns
Erm Bump? ;p
I finally got off my arse and decided to make a new UI which I thought would be a good time to give Reflux a go. Now there's no way in hell I can configure my unit frames in 1 sitting nevermind a whole UI which is what reflux seems to be best suited for. I was thinking I could use the /reflux copy [profile] command to work on my UI bit by bit, by copying older, less configured profiles and then updating them.
Soooo I installed some addons, created a reflux profile and emulated my Stuf addon. Then configured half my unit frames and maybe a third of my addons before developing an headache and going /reflux save. After a nap I log a diff char and load my reflux profile, huzzah it worked! Now to test my theory from the previous paragraph I create a new profile and go /reflux copy [my1stprofile] all addon settings are carried over, all except for Stuf that is :<
I take it the copy command doesnt work on emulated addons? Is there a way to carry over my work with Stuf from my 1st profile? I guess the easiest option would be to swap Stuf with Pitbull or some other unit frames with a profile system...
EDIT: It seems my Stuf emulataion may not have been as successful as I thought. When I go back to my original reflux profile (called base0), Stuf is in it original config despite the changes I had made (and thought Id saved to that profile). I made a backup of my WTF folder after I first did /reflux save, reverting to this gets me back my edited Stuf.
Typing /reflux show with the old WTF folder active yields...
Active Profile is base0
base0 is an available profile.
StufDB is being emulated.
Addon state for the the active profile
which looks correct to me and yet the /reflux copy command seems to wipe my Stuf changes, any ideas? Sorry for the long-winded post but Id like to get this addon working for me.
Dec 8, 2009Try this it, havent tried it personally but it supports Maelstrom and Serendipity (priests) charges. Im pretty sure newer versions of TotemTimers includes a bar display for maelstom charges, however I had to disable it as it didnt play nice with rActionButtonStyler. 10min of fiddling around with Power Auras should have easily covered your needs though : /Posted in: AddOn HELP!
Edit; Whoops I guess Nug responded to your request very fast, oh well enjoy!
Nov 4, 2009The time has come where I get the urge to attempt to make my own UI. Im trying to get my Pitbull player frame to look something like this....Posted in: Unit Frames.......100/100[ ](The skewed [ ]'s represent vertical power/health bars)
What's the best way to arrange my power/health text like that? There's an option to switch x2 texts in the same position from left to right, dont see an option for switch from top to bottom. In older versions of Pitbull I could do it by creating 1 text and just squish x2 dogtags for power and health together, my attempts to do the same with Lua texts have not gone well.
local max = MaxPower(unit)
if max > 0 then
local s = Status(unit)
if s then
local cur, max = HP(unit), MaxHP(unit)
return "%s/%s || %s%%",Short(cur,true),Short(max,true),Percent(cur,max)
Just shows my power, removing the end in the middle returns an error. So knowledgeable UI types how would u do it? Just going back to using dogtags (if thats still possible) would be an option too I guess
Aug 23, 2009After a break from using the addon for a few months I'm finding the new additions pretty impressive, nice job. What are the chances of adding more units that can be watched?, namely party members (which would be awesome for arenas).Posted in: General AddOns
Mar 22, 2009Possible silly question, how do you edit the tags for text frames? I can switch between the catergories and styles but despite repeated clicking the text editing box remains greyed out so no custom tags for me :<Posted in: General AddOns
Mar 14, 2009Just like the majority of UIs shown here I like having my unit frames near the centre of my screen. What I dont like is having my character's unit frame present when I have nothing targeted it looks asymmetrical (I have no idea how to spell that) and not look very good. Im currently using pitbull and its combat fader module to fade out my unit frames when Ive nothing targeted / not in combat. Unfortunately for the last 2 years if you have pitbull's fader and either party or raid frames activated once you enter a battleground pitbull starts to glitch and spew out error messages.Posted in: General Chat
So does oUF, xperl (ewwwww) or any other unit frame addon sport a decent fader? Apologies for posting such a question in here, I promise to post some screen shots of my UI (for what its worth) once Im happy with it.
Mar 12, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from StormFXRequest: Option to show/hide windows/trackers based on stance. IE, I play a Druid and I've love to have separate windows appear for Bear and Cat but not show up otherwise. :)
Im another feral druid requesting this feature please!
Also requesting the ablity to set the behaviour when a buff is missing for individual trackers. So I want the Savage Roar icon to be greyed out when the buff isnt present but Id like to have the icons for things like mongoose procs and Beserk to dissappear entirely rather then take up screen space. Apologies if this is already possible.
