Apr 12, 2010I just got Mimiron's head and Squire does not seem to be treating it as a 310% mount. I've tried to set the mount selection to just the Head + one of my 310% drakes and the head never comes up in the mount selection. When I change the sort logic to allow 310 and 280 mounts to be called the same then it will come up.Posted in: General AddOns
Aug 5, 2009I had a new bug crop up last night which was really annoying. Whenever I swap spec I would have the Blizzard default action bar + reputation bar pop up and cover the bottom of my screen (where I have bartender set up). The only way I could get this default bar to disappear was to relog or reload my ui but the bar would return if I change my spec again.Posted in: General AddOns
Aug 5, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from cohuAny news about Quartz?
It seems as the author of AzCastBar is now also gone from WoW...
I didn't find any viable replacement so far.
I've been trying out CastBars but it seem to be a poor man's replacement. I'd love to be able to return to an Ace3 version of Quartz.
Aug 5, 2009Last night Headcount was not working properly for raid attendance. It was not recording the raid at all as far as I could tell and I was not getting the pop up dialog for entering the DKP value on loot upon handing out the item.Posted in: Raid AddOns
Unfortunately, with all of the other errors I was having I did not see anything specific to headcount to help debug the problem and I am currently at work so I cannot list the other mods I have loaded up. Since the mod appeared to be dead for the other people using it within the raid I felt that this might be something related to the patch that needs an update.
Jun 16, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from AdirelleI'm wondering if this kind of thing could be handled by keybindings. E.g. Squire provides, say, 3 keybindings and let the user select a mount for each binding.
That would work for me. I was thinking about this more last night as I was running around with my mounts trying to figure out the "ideal" features I would want out of a mount mod. These are the things I was considering:
- I'm collecting a lot of mounts which makes it a pain to navigate through the default Blizzard UI to find a specific mount.
- As a cow I need to use specific smaller mounts to fit through doorways in Dalaran, Undercity or in a battleground like Warsong Gultch.
- I need to be able to access my Traveler's Tundra Mammoth for the vendors but do not want to use it any other time
- I have a 310% flying mount that I use in the majority of situations
- When I get a Sea Turtle I'll want to be able to access it quickly in swimming situations
- It would be nice to have a separate keybind for pulling out a random mount when I am not looking for one of my specific ones listed above.
Having multiple keybinds like you suggested would allow me to have most, if not all, of that functionality with a single mod. Ideally for me, I would want to bind all of my different mount keybinds to the X key using the modifiers.
I also think that the notion of "I would rather use my fast ground mount (100%) over my slow flying mount (60%)" is going to disappear with the next content patch that changes the slow flying mount from 60% to 150%.
Jun 15, 2009I just loaded up Squire in an attempt to move away from other mods and I wanted to give some feedback. I like that the UI is really simple to just turn on and off whichever mounts you want to include and as I have been working on the 100 mount achievement, being able to manage long lists of mounts is valuable.Posted in: General AddOns
I like the modifier option but I was wondering if this could be expanded upon? As a tauren raider there are two things that stand out for me when it comes to mounts: The first is that there are times we want to use specific "short" mounts to be able to get through doorways (like going down to the sewers in Dalaran) and the second is that I purchased the vendor mount and would like to be able to access it specifically when people need to buy reagents or repair during a raid.
Right now I have my mount bound to my X key. What I would ideally like to happen is have the default action of the mount macro occur when I hit X (randomly select from my lists a flyable mount in flyable areas and ground mount in non-flyable areas). If I hit Shift+X I need to pick a specific mount, my "short" mount to be able to go through doorways and when I hit Ctrl+X I would like to get my Traveler's Tundra Mammoth. When I get the Sea Turtle it would be nice to either have the default macro be smart enough to use the turtle when in water or bind the third key modifier, Alt+X, to the turtle.

I would call it a nice tool to have, especially since it is a whisper I would have to send manually and manually retyping the same thing over and over to multiple people simply sucks. I was going to suggest the cooldown idea as well. My suggestion would be more along the lines of 2 hours since I often do my version check at the start of the raid and then tell people to update during trash. By the half way (2 hour) mark of the raid I would re-check to see that people actually did what was asked of them.
I would also be find with replacing the whispers with a raid message listing the names of all of the people who need to install or upgrade oRA2. Its really no different than say RBS doing a consumable / buff check.

Honestly, if your raid leaders are such a nightmare then why do you keep running with them? I run my own raids and at most I do one version check to see if anyone was missing their addon. I know there are times where raiders will disable addons and forget to turn them on when raid time comes so at most I will run the version check to see if anyone is missing the addon and then tell them to go update. The few times I have joined someone else's raid the 'version check nazi' has never been an issue so I would really think that your experience is the exception more than the rule.
From my point of view as a mentally stable raid leader, I would like a simplified version check feature that minimizes the effort I have to put in to checking that 24 other people have their stuff in order. Lets be honest, raid leaders have a million other things to do and taking the time to scroll through a list of fluff to find one or two (or zero) people who need to go find the latest version of a mod is a chore and I figure the whole idea around mods is to do those chores for us.
Right now the version check process involves calling the function and getting the version check window. Then you have to either scroll through the list and or use the column sorting to find who is out of date or doesn't have the mod installed/enabled. Finally we then have to take the time to communicate the version check results to the raid.
If the version check window could filter out everyone who is up to date with the mod, that saves time searching the list. Nothing wrong with that, right? So now when I hit the version check button and get the message "Raider 9 needs to install" or "No one needs to update" then I would be a happy camper and I can relay the message from the version check to Raider 9.
If the addon can message Raider 9 directly, then it saves me one more task. I wouldn't view that as a crucial step to eliminate but for me personally it would be nice because it would streamline my time spent administrating the raid and leave me with more time for playing.
The suggestion for making a macro to call each version check is a great one, I'll have to go make such a macro. Thankfully my list of "required" mods for my group is down to oRA2 and BigWigs so it would be a pretty simple macro.

That suggestion works well enough for me. I honestly do not need to see a list of people who have an up-to-date version of the mod, I only need a list of people who are lagging behind, especially if they are missing significant updates to the mod, or do not have the mod installed.
That way a good version check would list 0 names and maybe show the message "Everyone is running the latest oRA2" to confirm that the version check code ran properly.
Mar 9, 2009Posted in: Data Broker AddOnsQuote from yessI could not reproduce your problem. I made a new character and copying the profile did work just fine.
Please try it with r19 and tell me what steps will reproduce the problem, thanks.
I'll try again with the new build and try to copy profiles so that I can get all of my buttons in the same places with the same label settings for each of my characters.

You being able to see who has a lower revision is enough. If you notice that someone hasn't updated in a month, or you know there was an important update, or if someone is causing issues by having an older version, then ask them to update. It's not Threat-1.0. If a French player doesn't have the latest revision of the Korean translations, it doesn't screw up the addon for everyone. It's not critical. Let people handle their own files on their own computer.
I am not looking for some spambot feature that nails people every 5 minutes if they do not have the most up to date version of the mod or even want it to occur every time I do a version check. I simply thought that adding a button to the version check window that can be pressed once in a while to automate the process of "asking them to update" would be a nice alternative to having to scroll through a list of 25 names to find the tardy players and single them out manually.
If the version check window breaks (again) an automated message such as this could compensate for the fact that I am unable to see who has the lower version and need to update. That was my original motivation for making that request.
Either way, I'm much more interested in finding out why the shaman ankh cooldowns disappeared from my oRA2 cooldown monitor list.
Mar 6, 2009_ForgeUser1186529 posted a message on SexyMap - A tiny bundle of minimap awesomeificationGreat mod, love the look and feel of it so far. I've noticed two issues.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
The first is that when I set up my buttons (specifically the show settings) on my main character, those settings are not carrying over to my other characters, even when I try to copy the profile from the main character to the others.
The second problem I am having is with using the button menus with the fade option turned on. Once I try to move my mouse down the menu (and thus out of the minimap area) the button and connecting menu will disappear, thus making the menu unusable.

I will make a official forum thread about chocolate bar once multiple bar support is finished, its almost done but I have very little time at the moment-.-
I'd go ahead and start your forum post now to get feedback. I think a lot of people would like to use it even with it being only a single bar simply because you added the center alignment. I for one am very happy with how simple it is to set up.
I've noticed that after setting up my chocolate bar for my main, the settings are not carrying over to my other characters, even when I try to copy the profile from the 'finished' character to the others.
