posted a message on When to use . and :
So I've been reading through the Ace3 tutorial, and I'm wondering if somebody can elaborate a bit on when I should be using a . (period) versus a : (colon) to call functions. I can't see anything different in the function definition itself, so I'm wondering if it has to do with the parameters that the functions actually take in.

I've included the snippet from the tutorial below.

    function WelcomeHome:ChatCommand(input)
if not input or input:trim() == "" then
        LibStub("AceConfigDialog-3.0"):Open("WelcomeHome")
      else
        LibStub("AceConfigCmd-3.0").HandleCommand(WelcomeHome, "wh", "WelcomeHome", input)
      end
    end

posted a message on Detecting Currently Engaged Boss
    Hello everybody,

I'm trying to write a raid assistance plugin for personal use, and I'm having some trouble wrapping my head around the logic required to detect a currently engaged boss. What I'd like to see is a way to automatically select which boss mob is currently engaged as the player enters combat. Unfortunately, from what I looked at, you can tell that the player has entered combat by way of the PLAYER_REGEN_DISABLED event, and then grab the name of the target. However, what if the player is a healer?

Is there no way to tell which mob engaged combat?

I cannot figure out how to get rid of the location bar completely. From what I have seen, the Hide/Show module Location Bar (and Location Text) settings don't actually hide it.

Am I doing something wrong, or are other people having problems.

Also, is it possible to completely hide the durability doll and quest tracking, etc?

    Thanks.
