In case anyone else is using this method of redirecting error text to their combat log... an FYI:
Rabbit's fix there did the trick. However, unlike previous updates where I'd edit the LUA and be all set, I had to type "/errormonster output CombatLog" again once back in game. Once that was done, all was well again.
Thank you Rabbit!

You need to register a new output sink in Sink-1.0, like
local s = AceLibrary("Sink-1.0") s:RegisterSink("CombatLog", "Combat Log", nil, function(addon, text, r, g, b) ChatFrameX:AddMessage(text, r, g, b) end)
Where "ChatFrameX" is obviously the chat frame where you want it, usually ChatFrame2, I guess.
And then do /errormonster output CombatLog to route output to your new sink.
This worked great until 2.4.2. Now with the latest versions the error text isn't showing in my Combat Log any more. Backing up to the last version that worked for me (r67589) still works no problem though, but I have to be careful with the Ace Updater now.
Is there a way to make the error text output to my Combat Log again?
Apr 13, 2008Pet nameplate coloring bug:Posted in: General AddOns
I notice this in PvP / Arena (and I believe it's intentionally exploited by players that name their pet with the same name as their character, or their team's healer): If a pet has the same name as a player, the pet's name plate is colored by the player's class.
The result can be confusing, especially in a crowd, as there will be two green (for Hunter) "Joehunter" nameplates to pick from.
Are there some settings I should change to eliminate this, or is it a known bug, or maybe there's nothing Aloft can do about it due to game limitations?
Mar 26, 2008After initially fighting to figure out DogTags3, I quickly decided I like them better and am happy with the results.Posted in: Unit Frames
- Target Frame shows cast bar and spell icon, but no spell name or cast time.
- Target of Target Frame shows everything, but the cast time is UGLY as sin. It's showing numbers like 1.6999999997.
Any suggestions for possible problems on my end, or just wait for updates? Thanks!
Feb 16, 2008Hey guys! I'm having trouble creating a single key that does this:Posted in: General AddOns
Healthstones if I have them (and not on CD - largest first)
BG potions (Major Combat Healing Potion) if I'm in a BG
Loose potions next (Super, SSC, TK, the ones from Alerian Stronghold)
I thought the built in button "Heal" would do this, but it's not switching to my BG potions when I'm in a BG. It seems to have them grouped with regular healing potions.
I tried creating some custom stuff. I created a category "My BG Pots" and put my WSG and AB Major Combat Healing Potions in it. I created a category "My Healing Pots" and put Super Healing Potion and Healing Potion Injector in it.
I then created a custom button that had Healthstones first, My BG Pots second, and My Healing Pots last. It works in that it uses HSes first, but it doesn't work in that even though I have the "Battlegrounds Only" checkbox checked, My BG Pots show up after HSes instead of My Healing Pots.
Also, what does the "Location" checkbox do?

That worked like a charm.
I put the code at the end of the Initialization block in ErrorMonster. Is there a better place? My only concern now is that every time ErrorMonster is updated I'll need to add it again.
