I know about the minimap display. But, to my knowledge, it is not possible to see in the minimap if the herbs/mines are available. We need to walk to the place and see if the resource is really there or has been collected by some other player.

The gatherer is able to tell you, at distance, if the herb/mine is indeed there.

In the #383 post we can see some circles on the minimap that look exactly like the kind of info we can see in gatherer (which, by the way, is only plus I see on that addon in comparison with cartographer).

As far as I know, gatherer can only tell you what you can already see on the minimap. (ie. you would have to be in range to get the "yellow dot" to know if the item is there or not. This isn't the mod, but your "find x" ability that everyone who gathers something has.) Mods can't scan the area to see whats there ahead of you. You get an icon of the item until closer, which then turns into a empty circle as you approach. If the dots in the circle, its there atm, else the circle stays empty if its gone.

    Cartographer does the same thing.

    Thx a lot for clarifying.

So, I'm missing something very obvious because I get the icons on the minimap but I never get the "yellow dot" for an existing/spawned herb/mine. Any ideas what it might be ?

    Hi Sariash,

On post #383 I see that your minimap shows some circles very similar to the ones we see on gatherer for "non-available" (or not yet spawned) herbs/mines.

Am I missing something obvious (since I thought cartographer didn't have that kind of minimap support) or have you been able to put cartographer and gatherer working together ?

    Thx in advance,
    JCF

1 - Congratulations for this addon.

2 - Since its beginning to be very stable and I see very few bugs reported let me add my voice to one feature request already mentioned: Although we can see all the herbs in the minimap a feature that would allow us to see if they are "available" at distance (I little like what gatherer does) would be perfect for us casual players.
