So i left WoW for personal reasons. Am back and thinking of reviving this project. Going to start with a small scope and build from there.

one of the reasons i have been dragging my feet on this is because i am trying to decide how much "incorporating" i really want to do.

I would prefer not to replace any good addons out there. Ideally, if we could "plug" them in and just share a common data structure and comms standard.

That way, the authors can continue to work on their addons separately and just ensure that they continue to be compatible.

The problem with this approach is that:

    1. I am new to the community. It will be difficult for me to get buyin from established authors.
    2. Addons would have to be rewritten according to this new standard.

I have not spent much time on this recently since i have started playing alot more than i ad been. I am sure that will wear off again soon.

Is there a single place to find all data about all spells without having to search each individual spell?

I am trying to create a tool to evaluate gear for healing, casting & such.

So I have decided on some moduled releases. The first module will have little to do with the already stated features.

It will contain the "engine" to gather local user data to have available to send to other clients running the tools.

The base will also have some tools that may be desirous to an end user not really interested in guild management.

Some one the features i am looking at is:

    1. Advanced Friends List
    2. User rating system - i plan to integrate this with the overall blacklist system

So i plan to release these soon. I intend to release an alpha. Test these and perhaps a few other features and then release a beta with just these features.

This release will have a lot of underlying components critical to further development.

Re: Guild Craft, and please if you do this, can you make it compatible?

by compatible, do you mean test to make sure they work together? or something else?

so is there a way, in code, to get a users link that can be stored or sent to another client to disassemble?

i think the current methodology provides the most efficient, safest and developer oriented environment. i think asking for them to allow for every possible scenario is a little unreasonable

Once when I was a teenager I watched my dad (an electrical engineer) assemble a 486 PC from parts (the first of many computers I've since built or helped build from parts). While he was connecting the power supply I made a loud *BZZZT* noise and he jumped three feet into the air. He didn't live that one down for a while.
