it was said before, just go back to the working version.

I am using external ace libs which has a problem with this series, but I think if you don't use ace external, you should be ok.
take out the following from the file sanity.lua:
    "SetMerchantCompareItem",
(complete with quotes and comma) and u should be good2go

Thanks for this. I assume that line removes the onload error. I do miss many things that worked in an earlier version but are broken now so I'm going to give this a shot. Thanks for the tip!

Edit: Unfortunately, this version gives me the following error when I open the bank:

[2007/06/02 09:08:22-190-x2]: Sanity2\Sanity.lua:926: bad argument #1 to 'tinsert' (table expected, got nil)

    ---

No items display although the Bank button is checked.

no way? And your not using the external libs? If you were using external libs at the Interface/Addons level you would have Ac2, Babble-2.2 etc...?
I'm sure it worked for me before I went with the external libs. Maybe try an earlier version.

**EDIT: sry, should have included where to get it.
go to http://files.wowace.com/Sanity2/ I would pick Sanity2-r33714.1019.zip, which is the last in the r33714 series.

The author said he was rewriting the guts. You know, when you use wowaceupdater you are getting the latest checked in version of source. If it's a work in progress, you stand a chance of not getting a working version of code. The developer checks in the code so he won't lose it in case something happens.

That being said, I wish there was a work-in-progress branch and a working branch but I guess wowupdater doesn't support that...

(unless I'm totally wrong, in which case ignore)

Can someone explain shortly to me why "Sanity2" now has become dependent on "SanityItemCache"?

    Seems like I missed that...

The author has two (or more?) addons that depend on looking up your items in a cache.

wow. I don't get this. I went back to an old version, restored my saved vars file but keep getting:
Error: bad argument #1 to 'tinsert' (table expected, got nil)
    File: Interface\AddOns\Sanity2\Sanity.lua
    Line: 925
    Count: 1

    anyone know what's going on?

edit: humm, I switched to ace externals somewhere in the last few days, so it's not taking the imbedded ace libs

Under the ACE subcategory "S" page sanity2 shows unclaimed and there is no sanitybags under the ACE subcategory "S" page. Not that this is more important than your work on the sanity line. Just in case u didn't know.

    Disabling GonffBar removes this crash?

    what am I doing wrong?

I have two statments (if memory serves):
    self:db:set("spell", 1, "Heal")
    self:db:set("spell", 2, "Regrowth")

I do 2 /console reloadui to make sure it gets out to the savedvariables. What I see in the saved var file is just "spell" and a 2, with no text.
