I looked at it, but my biggest beef is taking up more space on the screen. I would really like something that flashes or scrolls notification and then goes away.

It's not just buffs/debuffs, I'm also looking for interrupts (kick, shield bash) since no one announces them and I end up wasting my counterspells. =( I know, I didn't mention the interrupts in my original post, sorry.

I will probably bite the bullet and try to figure out MSBT, but it looked terribly complicated when I was reading the comments other people were posting about setting up triggers.

I may give Elkano's Buff Bars a shot. Before I load it, can anyone tell me if it replaces the buffs/debuffs shown on my target or if I will still be able to see the normal display of buffs/debuffs and then Elkano's Buff Bar will show me the few that I'm interested in? I don't want to hide/lose the rest of the information, I'm just looking for a way to really call attention to the few that impact me the most.

I looked for Sorren's Timers and found a copy on WoWInterface, but it was released pre-Wrath and does not seem to be currently receiving any support.

    Thanks

Tried Elkano's Buff Bars, it's not quite what I want. It requires that I somehow come into contact with the debuff that I'm looking for to configure it. Working with my own debuffs, I couldn't get it to show just what I wanted. It also takes up space on the screen which is part of the reason I was looking for an alert.

In my original post I requested something that tells me when abilities or spells are used as I didn't want to limit it to buffs and debuffs. Some of the interrupts I'm also looking for don't have lasting effects.

I think it might do it, but it also completely replaces the built-in scrolling combat text which I use and like. I'm looking for something a little less invasive and a little less complicated (it would take me forever to get the triggers set up).

    Thanks

I wouldn't be surprised if this already exists somewhere, but I have no idea how to search for it. I'm looking for something that will announce on my screen (maybe in scrolling combat text or flashing text off to the side) when user-defined abilities are cast by party members.

I would like something that has a list of abilities (sorted by class would be nifty) that I can check off. If a checked ability is used by a party member (and preferably affects my target, not some other mob) I get a notification.

With the changes coming to Torment the Weak, it is important to me to know when certain abilities are used by others in my party. Many of these are instants so I can't catch them on the party cast bars, there are generally too many debuffs on a mob for me to quickly tell if what I need has been cast, and there is no way I can keep track of everything in the combat log as it happens.

Specific example: A paladin's Judgment of the Just will trigger a mage's Torment the Weak (next patch). If I could get a message when the paladin casts that specific judgment, I know that I'm getting my extra damage and don't have to cast Slow.

I'm also thinking it would be useful in arena... something like this has got to exist. Anyone know?

Alpha releases scare me. I can live with my focus-work around until something a little more stable is released. But thanks for letting us know there was an update!

How does this range check spell feature function? (I suppose I should really ask, "What does it look like or change in the interface/view?")

I've yet to play with it since I think RedRange does something like that for me on all my abilities. I've finally got XPerl doing just what I want it to for everything except vehicles and raids so I'm hesitant to start exploring new features for fear of messing something up, lol.

Now the buffs are showing on my drake... sometimes.
I've tried it with my toon having buffs, my toon having no buffs, but I just can't figure out what I'm doing to make it work sometimes.
If I can come up with anything definitive I'll be sure to post it here.

I just started running the Aces High daily out in Coldarra where you ride a red drake around and kill blues. The red drake has a self-buff that stacks and uses energy/combo points like a rogue. Here's what I found, if anyone knows of settings to change to resolve it would be greatly appreciated.

Issue 1: When riding the drake, the drake replaces my unit frame at the top and moves me down (expected behavior). But the drake displays my buffs, not his own. This means that I can's see how many stacks of the healing buff I have or if I have the other healing buff on.

Quick fix for that was to select the drake and set as my focus, then I can see the buffs. Not perfect, but workable.

Issue 2: I can't see the number of combo points my drake has on the target. If I target my drake, I can see the combo points above his portrait. They do not show when I set him as my focus. Edit: Issue fixed with newer version and I switched to showing the combo points below.

Separate issue relating to vehicle-type situations: This isn't specific to X-Perl, but I'm hoping someone has an idea... When running the dragon fights in Occulus I want to be able to use a macro to assist the tank. But it seems like the tank's drake is the one actually targeting, not the player. Using my normal macro targets the tank's drake instead of his target. Is there a way to assist the vehicle that a player is using?

    Thanks!

Just got the latest version and see that the Rune Bar can now be "undocked" and moved around, yay! But... all my buffs/debuffs moved with the runes. I didn't see anything else new to click so I'm not sure how to make the buffs stay up with the character portrait.

And my runic power is still black/clear.

    Thanks!

Got a problem with the display of the runic power on my DK - it seems that the bar is either black or invisible. I get a numeric update if I have the numbers turned on, but I do not see the nice frosty blue bar filling up. (I actually ran around half an instance wondering where the hell all my runic power was /facepalm).

It's been reported a few times over on Curse, but I didn't see it here yet.

I just grabbed the latest available at Curse so I should be up to date.

    Love the mod, thanks!

Edit: While I'm thinking about it... would it be possible to separate the rune bar from the player frame? I would love to be able to move that elsewhere to keep a closer eye on it.

I don't know of anything that will work in WotLK that also doesn't change the unit frame appearance... but if you can stand a new look for your frames: X-Perl allows you to see all the buffs and debuffs, as well as change the sizing on them.

I found something like this, several somethings, while trying to find Cooldown Count.
Just search over at Curse for "cooldown" and you will have several to choose from. It doesn't look like many have been updated recently though. =(

I'm having trouble right-clicking a buff to turn it off; a few other people have posted at Curse with the same issue.

Any fix or setting that I've missed?

    Thanks!
