Carnage :) It will create an infinite loop causing some kind of buffer error.
Disabling those is on my todo list... (the one in my head)...
If I do manage to create multiple wraps, theoretically you could nest one in the other...

Nov 3, 2008Well to be honest. A screenshot seems inappropriate for what is essentially a datafeed. It would only show a display addon like Fortress or StatBlockCore at work...Posted in: Data Broker AddOns
EDIT: But what the heck :)
This is Broker_Wraps wrapping the blocks from Broker_CasterStats in one block for Fortress. If the left 'Control' block is clicked, the wrap-block will jump to the Spellpower block...

Something in between a datafeed and a display addon for LibDataBroker.
It's an adaptation of Astromech's Carousel Display addon and therefore he deserves all the credits. Instead of displaying multiple datafeeds in a single frame, this wraps those datafeeds in one new datafeed for any display addon to use. It also creates a second 'control' feed for cycling through your selected feeds...
It's in beta at the moment. I'm trying figure out the last details and a way to create multiple wraps. It's mostly functional though.
- Tooltips provided by fuBar plugins misbehave...
- First tooltip remains in StatBlockCore...
Nov 3, 2008Posted in: Data Broker AddOnsQuote from sayntavariceI see the tooltip with all schools, but the highest school is not displayed as the main feed.
Bleh, hard to test for me, all my schools of magic are the same :)
I'll look in to it...
EDIT: Should be fixed with next packaging. Keep me posted please...

Yes, it's a lot like Carousel. It even uses a lot of Astromech's code (with his permission of course). But instead of displaying the selected feeds, mine simply creates a new feed for wichever display addon used.

Creates five datafeeds for LDB-display addons like StatBlockCore, Carousel, ButtonBin, Fortress and more...
If you would rather have all these stats displayed in a single switchable block. I'm working on that in the form of another addon called Broker_Wraps, which might be available soon...
Main feed: Displays current mp5 and a dot-based five-second-rule-bar.
Tooltip: Current Mp5 in- and outside of fsr.
Main feed: Displays current spellpower. Automatically selects highest school of magic.
Tooltip: Shows spellpower for all schools.
Main feed: Displays current spellcrit. Automatically selects highest school of magic.
Tooltip: Shows spellcrit for all schools.
Main feed: Displays current SpellHaste.
Tooltip: No Tooltip
Main feed: Displays current SpellHit.
Tooltip: No Tooltip
Oct 28, 2008Well I may not be a coder, I can copy/paste just fine :)Posted in: Addon Ideas
I made a little Alpha of what I had in mind. All credit goes to Astromech, who's Carousel-code I shamelessly copied and altered to fit my needs.
Tooltips are behaving badly, I'm trying to figure that one out still...
The rest seems to be ok at first glance...
I thought maybe there would be someone who would want to try it out to see exactly what I was talking about...
I attached it.
Oct 27, 2008Mmm... If I understand you correctly (which I'm not quite sure of :) ), that would mean:Posted in: Addon Ideas
* The rotation part would be restricted to data fed by the addon this Lib would be used in (I think)...
* Only addons that include the Lib are rotatable (is that even a word?)...
'That way the source can still provide a normal feed, but at the same time it can do rotating data.'
This is also the case in 'my' idea...
Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding you :)
Anyway, writing a Lib would be way beyond my coding skillset, which peaked at:
10 PRINT"I'm a programmer!" 20 GOTO 10
Oct 26, 2008Yeah I got what you said in the other thread. Like I said: I'm sure a lots of folks would love it.Posted in: Addon Ideas
But taking CasterStats as an example: I personally don't see the multiple blocks as clutter, simply because I want them all to be shown all the time :) I'm not hiding any of the blocks I create with CasterStats (wait... I hide SpellHit since I added it, simply because it's a useless stat for me). If I would want my healer stats just one button away, I would just open my paper doll window...
Like I said: It's purely a matter of how much value someone attaches to the direct availability of certain information...
That's where this idea comes in: The user can choose the availability of information by either leaving a feed as it is or combining it with other less important stuff. Carousel does this too yes, but it's a display addon. I think it would be easier if there was an addon like Carousel that didn't display it but simply passed the information along as a new feed. That way the newly created feed can be treated as just another block by whatever display addon the user prefers...
To be clear: I'm not actually looking for this kind of addon, I just think others might. I just had the idea and I thought I would share it :)
Oct 25, 2008Seerah:Posted in: Addon Ideas
No, I'm familiar with Carousel. Carousel is a display addon, my idea creates datafeeds. I'm also not actuall looking for this myself. I probably wouldn't use it myself even :) It just came to me in another thread, where Tristanian suggested a kind of all-in-one version of my Broker_CasterStats addon... I thought: what if the user could simply choose which feeds it would want to throw together...
I used those Blocks purely as an example, using the term 'I' in the example part may have been confusing (Like I said to Seerah: I wouldn't actuall do that myself, since I have plenty of room). The idea is that someone could take any feeds from any addon author and mix and match however he/she would want. (You probably already knew that, but just to be sure :) )
ps. I know the Dev tool you are talking about: It's a few lines of code Tekkub put on his Gith page to act as an example for using his LDB-callbacks (At least: I think you are referring to this)
Oct 25, 2008Because of the Broker_CasterStats thread, I came up with an idea for an addon. I actually started trying to code it myself, but I soon found out that I was in way, way, way over my head.Posted in: Addon Ideas
I thought I'd put the idea out here, so maybe some actual coder would pick it up.
The Idea: An LDB-wrapper... (Broker_Wraps?)
It isn't a datafeed or launcher, nor is it a display addon. It recieves data from LDB on a number of user-selected datafeeds and passes on all the attributes of only one of them (user-selected) as a new LDB-datafeed, complete with tooltips and OnClick behaviors of the 'original'.
Besides this 'cloned' datafeed it provides a second 'controller' LDB feed. This block shows the name of the datafeed that's being cloned and has a tooltip that shows all the selected 'wrappable' original datafeeds. It has an OnClick behavior that lets the user 'cycle' through the selected original datafeeds showed in the first feed by jumping to the next in line.
I'm using StatBlockCore with 4 LDB-feeds: Broker_Clock, Statblock_FPS, Statblock_Memory and Statblock_Latency. However, I don't want all 4 to be on screen all the time.
I deselect the four mentioned feeds in the StatBlockCore config and select the Broker_Wraps_Display and Broker_Wraps_Control feeds in that same config.
In the Broker_Wraps config I select Broker_Clock, Statblock_FPS, Statblock_Memory and Statblock_Latency.
I now have 2 StatBlocks on my screen: The first is a clone of Broker_Clock. If I click the second one the first one turns into a clone of StatBlock_FPS... And so on...
I hope I made some sense, it feels hard to make my idea clear :)
Now that I think of it: It would be kind of a datafeed-version of Carousel...
Anyway: Maybe some brave coder thinks this is a nice idea, like I said: It's way out of my league (Actually I don't think there is a league that would have me ;) )
Oct 23, 2008I understand completely. There's no right or wrong here. Just a matter of priorities and how much screen real estate someone wants to waste on a certain stat.Posted in: Data Broker AddOns
On a similar not: I checked out Carousel to see if it could do what you described Tristanian. It can, but it would be brilliant if that add-on could make 'multiple carousels', like Buttonbin has 'multiple Bins'. That would solve it right there :) (and for some reason it wouldn't show my tooltips either)
