Hi all,i'm having some serious issues with Ebb lately. In raid mostly i sometimes get a huge fps loss, with ebb spamming errors like this:

After that,i can't use any skill, ebb bars and timers aren't working, and even pitbull isn't showing any value.Hope u can help, never had problems with Ebb and i don't want to change it.Thx in advance

I had the same sort of problems a while back and changed to SBF, assuming the problem was caused by EBB. However, this still happens (without the EBB error messages obviously) so I'm not sure it's EBB.

I use Bartender and what happens is ALL macro based buttons stop working and the others appear to be working but things like cooldowncount stops showing the numbers and Cutup's rupture bar doesn't display and so and so on with weird errors (also notice in bugsack there are memory allocation errors and lots saying ace event but it's not clear what's happening).

Basically I have to reload my ui and about a quarter or the time WoW then just crashes out...

Really think this updater is getting there. But I have a question about how well it spots updates need doing.

I use a lot of addons and every day there is the odd thing to update and it works fine. However if I download the list of addons I regularly find addons which have been updated and the CC hasn't flagged them.

I have it set to Beta and it doesn't matter whether they are Beta or Release it just doesn't flag them for update - even if I click "check for updates".

Any ideas why this would be happening?

The two addons screwing it all up for me were IgnoreMore and WebDKP - go figure!

Still have some other issue but all Prat functionality seems OK.

Well as you know I'm first to complain when something doesn't work as you would expect it to. That being said, the Curse Client is finally starting to look like something proper.

It now properly recognises my addons - has done a couple of weird things but nothing shocking and it's certainly not the Frankenstein monster it was to start with.

A bit more tweaking and a bit more making it more user friendly and you will have something decent.

So, thanks for what you have done so far - keep at it and just try to make sure you deliver a solid and polished product so that all us poor addon junkies can get our fixes!

I can't seem to find "Underspore Pod" (item id 28112), which is conjured from the quest reward item "Everlasting Underspore Frond." Is this added?

That appears on my bar - although I cannot remember if I added it manually - probably not though it's on a button called Food Combo...

I used Tortoise to export it from the SVN which seemed to work. Not sure if there is an easier way though.

I like the way it's working and can be skinned to match everything else.

... did you bother to read any of the posts from Kaelten and/or Kolie? It's been clearly explained many times already that the Curse Client does not yet update from wowace.com, and will not do so until the new software is installed on wowace.com sometime in September or October. This thread exists so that people who currently use WAU or another program to update from wowace.com can offer feedback on the Curse Client before it becomes the only option for updating from wowace.com.

Yes I did bother to read them thanks - I'm not complaining about it not doing WowAce addons I'm complaining about it being such a crappy looking product and currently not working properly.

It's hardly a beta product for us WAU users is it if it doesn't do any of the functionality we have at the moment. It's like me downloading addons for Conan and then trying to offer some insight why things for a game I don't have don't work.

When it finally starts doing WAU work I will comment properly on it's functionality. All I want to comment on at the moment is it's completely crappy look and clunky feel...

OK I cannot find the version with bleeder in it - I was hoping it would appear soon as part of the normal addon (as it's been a few months since it came out) but no joy.

Can anyone give me an idea where it is please - I'm doing something wrong somewhere I'm sure because just when I think I've found it I find myself with the normal version.

    Is this still being developed?

OK - all this talk of ways to pay for it is marvellous - but first you need a product.

The new Curse client is, at the moment, only slightly more tangible than vapourware (ah the good old days).

Why not concentrate on getting a product out there and sort the finances out afterwards - say let it run for a month or two with the strict understanding that it will have chargeable options / features later, or will even become a pay or don't use it product.

That will give you plenty of time to work out how people can pay for it and also to gauge what sort of paying user base you can expect to have. If the product is crap (and so far it's not looking good) then your beancounters will soon realise that there's no point in ploughing money in to working on a wonderful payment system for something that isn't going to sell.

Two words to consider - Cart and Horse...

OK - I've decided it's not just me...

The Curse Client is obviously not for updating WowAce addons it's for some entirely different purpose, possibly designing knitting patterns.

It also has the added feature of being able to hide all the WowAce addons from anyone who wants to use them, drive the poor addon developers to drink and finally annoy the players so much that they delete their interface folders and just run WoW in plain old vanilla out of the box style.

I can't, after all these days of reading the tripe posted about this, understand what the hell is going on. It's an updater for god's sake - make it update stuff. WAU works - tart it up, make it read curse files for those people who like to run WoW in 2007 mode, slap a few logos on it and leave it at that.

If this is the sort of thing Curse does (when it's not giving you keyloggers and corrupted files) then I'm surprised they last through the day, never mind the week.

I've been involved in internet start-ups where we've re-invented the wheel for plenty of stuff that's previously available (as is their way) but not once have I seen anyone make something that wasn't better than what was previously available.

Can someone give me an idea what year the new Curse client will actually work so I can come back to the forum with a few months to go and start looking at what it CAN actually do and not what it fails to deliver...

TBH if you have to be able to see the icon to know what spell is on what button you are going to last 5 seconds in PvP and be a nightmare in PvE.

I love the whole button thing because it's obvious to me from the relative position it is on the bar (I'm a rogue button masher, using a N52e pad, so autobar is only displayed on screen purely for range, energy and cooldown purposes and to allow me to map the keys in the same layout as the pad).

I too get the error - however I ignore the message and then just use it as normal - no problems at all - when I'm finished I acknowledge the message with Don't Send and it shuts down nicely.
