Andreasg: You're welcome to fork it, just leave credit in there somewhere.
Obviously as I just posted, that was one of my major goals - Separation and trimming down, and the move to Ace3/config - some of which happened in the 1.0 branch. (It's on the svn too, might want to look at it for updates to various methods likely to still be in your fork)
I'll try it out a bit and post a update.

Edit: Works well. What are you planning to do with it? This it -more or less- or were you going to work more on it?

For myself, I don't really need my loot addon to do more than this, but I had no intention of making it "my own" addon, I just wanted to put it on the SVN to see what might happen from there, that's what community is about. That just meant I had to come up with a name. Depending on what you wish of course you could take it from here and name it XLoot again, because it is your addon, and add the options I haven't added, which should be really easy. Ideally it could be merged with the 1.0 branch.

Sorry for the hard to read sentences, but I'm a bit tired:)

No, I mean, if the DO provides OnTooltipShow, which means the display provides the tooltip, how would the DO know when the tooltip is getting hidden again?

Xuerian, I couldn't find anything about license or the like in Xloot, so I went ahead and created a fork and put it on the SVN. Basically it is just the core of Xloot, all the utility functions removed, all superfluous libraries removed, configuration moved to Ace3 config embedded in the blizzard addon dialog. I'd like to know how you feel about it, if you don't like it I can take it off the SVN again, just wanted to ask. You could take a look at it, maybe start your Ace3 port from it perhaps. It is at http://svn.wowace.com/wowace/trunk/PhatLoot/.

Use OnEnter/OnLeave and refresh the tip yourself while it's visible. What would be the point of OnTooltipHide?

The tooltip might not get hidden OnLeave... The data object doesn't know anything about that.

How would I have the display manage the tooltip, but have the display object update the tooltip text continuously while the tooltip is visible? Preferably using GameTooltip...

Edit: Would anything be wrong with having .OnTooltipHide ?

Hmm, I didn't have any problems using downranked spells, could you tell me what you do? You just create a mouse binding, write the spell name and the rank name?

The old version is still there and works through FuBar, and it always will. If you want to use the new version through FuBar I suggest you poke the author of FuBar to support Data Broker addons or maybe use StatBlockCore or Fortress instead...

I just added this, I'll fix the last bugs in the new version shortly. If this annoys you until then, use the old version linked above.

I agree that this change is a bit much on the user unfriendly side, maybe have an option to set up in "Classic" view or something, also does anyone know where the archive for the old versions are?

I also have a problem I can not bind My Function Keys(F1-F12) to anything, I used to use F1 spellsteal, just QQing now :(

oh and the fact I can't simply drag and drop spell names into the bindings with the interface menu open :(

Imo the older version seemed to be the sleek simple addon it was meant to be, this one seems to be turning into something I will have to find a simpler form to get away from lol.

I'll get the F-keys working. Not sure what to do about dragging but I'll think of something. IMO the new version is more simple because it doesn't include all the crap libraries such as FuBarPlugin/Dewdrop/ the list goes on... Yeah, that reason might not mean anything to some users, while it means a lot to other users (myself included). You can choose not to use the new version if you don't want to, the choice is there. The old version will *always* be available here: http://files.wowace.com/Click2Cast/Click2Cast-r74503.zip

All well and good "suddenly" updating the addon but to change it completely yet keep the same name seems a bit off. Had been using this for a looooong time as it did just what I needed - easy to set up AND had a tooltip (on mouseover) to show what keys had been set up. Playing a lot of different characters its sometimes necessary to get a quick refresh and having to bring up the interface options mid-combat isnt such a clever thing to do :P

The addon is entirely the same, 90% of the code remains the same, the only thing that was changed was that the interface was moved to the blizzard config panel.

The tooltip will be coming back however (if you use a LDB addon like Fortress or StatBlock).

New version works fine for me aside from dual modifier clicks.

    For example:

    Alt-Left Click works.
    Shift-Left Click works.
    Shift-Alt-Left Click does NOT work.

If I downgrade, it still works in the old version.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it.

besides tooltips sucking as you say, I don't think the data addon should handle positioning of the tooltip even if it wants to have control about showing/hiding it, at least as long as there is no common way to position the tooltip sicnce this can easily lead to inconsistent positioning in the same display addon.

Maybe the display could pass a callback to the OnEnter function that can be used to have it position the tooltip.
(I really should test how easy the evil TabletLib can be used together with LDB for clickable tooltips...)

TabletLib works with no problems with LDB, check FuBar2Broker.

yeah, it's fine. Like web browsers you can just render something in compatibility mode, if no doctype is given. I just think it is a good idea, esp. because LDB is so generic, it can be used for everything. Someone could out of the blue use it for something completely different, so type helps here.
