Not to hijack anyone or hijack the thread, just trying to be helpful... There's tekticles and there is http://www.wowace.com/projects/mini-type/ which works with SharedMedia.
I was wondering if you could please make libDBicon optional.
it requires adding a simple "true" argument to the libstub function when you get the local reference for libDBicon, so it it will be silent if libDBicon is not available. Last a few lines needs to be encased in "if icon then" ... "end".
It's very simple and would be extremely helpful for us who uses a LDB display and do not want to use a minimap button.
It simply looks way too hard and complicated to do, as it works around the fact that blizzards raid code don't support sorting by spec. I suggest you simply create the custom raid groups yourself in aguf and use the name list to group people by spec together. I mean if you raid with your guild you know the spec and names of everyone.
You can only sort by the things blizzard made raid groups able to sort by, and spec isn't one of them. You can however manually enter the names of the people you want in each group.
I have no idea how to fix that stuff when you die in an instance and you show up as dead, when you are actually alive. I think I register for all the correct events. Anyone have an idea?
I think it would be best to have a clearly defined standard spec for displays, like there's html and css for browsers, etc... You can download any textfile or xml-file through your browser, like ldb can be used for anything, but if you add a doctype and follow the standards, you know your page will be displayed correctly in any browser.
I tried to suggest this months ago when I noticed some plugins using label and some not, but got flamed/stonewalled :P
The error at line 511 in SecureHandlers.lua is the blizzard problem, and it seems like that was what happened for you.
The error you received when trying to show the blizzard party frames is unrelated and happens simply because I haven't updated the hide/show blizzard code to 3.0.
There is a problem where party members won't be created correctly if they join while you're in combat. This is a bug in the Blizzard interface code and won't be fixed until they release a new patch. This affects all unit frame addons.

Thanks a lot. A really great addon, btw. I'll be keeping my eyes on it (while using it too, of course!). Keep it up. :)

Make LibDBIcon optional, ie. check if it exists or not, so the addon can be used without.
Add modules to toc file, so the addon can be used without moving all the modules into the addon dir.

What problems are you specifically referring to as the most important, ie. affecting raids etc?
