At the moment, when one admin pulls sync data from another, the person from whom the data is downloaded gets a message saying the data is being transferred and that it might take a few minutes, but the person initiating the sync gets no message at all.
It would be helpful if there were some message when you press the sync button that the sync is in progress and that it may take a few minutes. Otherwise one gets the feeling that the sync isn't working.
Also, is it possible to use the bidding panel if you don't have ML on? Sometimes we forget. :p
BTW I had one problem with the module. When I choose to disable it from the Grid menu, it doesn't actually disable. I looked at a couple different Grid modules and can't figure out what I'm missing.
I made a simple module for Grid that adds a status based on absolute HP. The threshold is adjustable, but I set the default to 8500 HP for the Naj'entus fight. This is my first addon and I don't know lua at all, so I copied a lot of the code from GridStatusStrings. I hope that's OK. I added a couple niceties, like it ignores pets and dead players. You can find it here:
The first line is a valid directory which contains:
Archive Mail
Convert Net
HeaderDoc Time
IO URI
MIME URI.pm
MLDBM auto
MLDBM.pm darwin-thread-multi-2level
Mac set-version.pl
The second directory listed (/Library/Perl/5.8.1) doesn't exist. Any ideas?
edit: BTW if I do a locate Diff it isn't found (and my locate database is current).
edit: I installed Algorithm::Diff, then got an error for LWP. I installed LWP but am now getting an error for SVN:Client.pm. I have a feeling my version of perl is just not right or something... maybe because I'm running OS X 10.4 instead of 10.5?
A question about keeping Omen compatible across our raid.
I have linked a "standard" version of Omen on our guild website that everyone is supposed to grab before each raid. I'd like to update this link as seldom as possible since inevitably not everyone will check it before the raid and so it's a bit of a time sink waiting around for people to download.
Omen gets updated rather often, and I would like to let my version slip behind the most current release. My concern though is that Omen is not a self-contained addon. It has dependencies, and these dependencies might be updated when people updated their other Ace addons. (I can't mandate how often people run WAU or whatever. Some will do it every day.) In particular I'm worried that even if everyone uses the Omen.zip that I link, there will be incompatibilities due to different versions of Threat-2.0.
Is this a valid concern? Do any other common addons use Threat-2.0 such that this might be updated outside of updating Omen?
Hexy, you are acting a bit belligerent. You're getting good advice but seem to be so anti-Rock you aren't really listening to it.
Right clicking random spots on your screen shouldn't bring up the Rock window. Clearly you have a transparent window up for some sort, probably FuBar. Change the transparency of your FuBar window so that you can see all your bars-- you may be surprised.
If that fails, there is a console command that will tell you the name of the frame you are currently moused-over. See this thread:
I have been wondering myself... is it possible to change settings via the command line for Rock mods? When I type, for example, /pitbull, the Rock screen comes up instead of giving me a list of command line options.
The reason I ask is there are a couple settings I commonly toggle on and off, and would love to be able to do this within a macro. I can easily do this with Dewdrop mods.
Oh that looks awesome - wonder why I never noticed it before...
You probably haven't noticed it since it's not on files.wowace.com, hasn't been mentioned in the forums, and isn't on the wiki. At least, I couldn't find any reference to it.
I have found that if I right click the bobber at 1s even if the bobber hasn't moved yet, I can get those end-of-the timer fish. The time at which you do this will depend on your latency; if you do it too early you'll get the "no fish are hooked" error.
BTW since Fishing Ace did not seem to be adjusting my sound volumes appropriately for fishing, I wrote a macro to do it:
/console SET MusicVolume "0"
/console SET AmbienceVolume "0"

As for the coming wowace changes, personally it's no big deal if addonpkg runs a bit slower. As long as it's automated I don't care how long it takes.

Thanks! I only need this for a couple things, so should work fine for me.

Thanks much for the download, I'll try it out!
