Elaborate on how this is "very bad" other than addon authors having to make 1 change.

It's bad for the UI forums.

The problem was that initialization of the bars wasn't complete, because SOME bars were created before PLAYER_LOGIN, while the rest were created after.

Are there news about the multiple tickets about Routes unable to importa data from GartherMate2 in some zones, throwing a lua error ?

Both add-ons are really great, but Routes is quite useless right now...

Will probably look at this some time this week.

Just edit the local Routes.toc, it works fine with 4.1

Or click the "Load out of Date addons" checkbox, you know. It's there so you don't actually have to edit the TOC, so you can actually know which addons are potentially broken/outdated.

posted a message on Git help please
The main workflow difference is that in SVN, you only have a working copy.

In Git, you have 2 working copies, the second one being the "staged area" where you can accumulate mini commits selectively by hunks (use "git gui" please), and then commit them as one commit.

Since all repos are clones of each other, you would only be committing to your own local repo, you would then need to "upload" your new commits by pushing it to another repo. You can selectively choose which branches to push.

If you made a mistake, and didn't push to a remote server, you have the opportunity to fix your commits by making new commits from an earlier commit". Say you have

    A-B-C-D-E

You make a new commits F and G

    A-B-C-D-E-F-G

Then realize E is a mistake. So you go reset your Master branch back to D, and reapply the changeset F and G on D

    A-B-C-D-E-F-G
           \-H-I
to create H and I commits. Since I is now the head, when you push to the remote repo, you only push A-B-C-D-H-I. Commits E, F and G are still in your local repo, but they are "dangling commits" and are not accessible directly since no HEAD of any branch points to them. In fact, they are only accessible if you know the SHA1 commit IDs for them, and they can be permanently removed with "git cleanup".

So to someone else that looks at your online repo, he will never know E, F and G ever happened.

posted a message on Getting in game mail sent time
    If you're wondering, I use

format("%s%s%s%s%d%d%d%d%d%d%d", packageIcon, stationeryIcon, sender, subject, money, CODAmount, hasItem, wasReturned, textCreated, canReply, isGM)

as an identifier for mails in Postal. It doesn't use daysLeft, so 2 mails that are not sent at the same time are considered identical if they were sent with the same headers.

daysLeft doesn't update because the server only updates your mailbox once every 60 seconds at best, so daysLeft only updates then, and the time it gives is only accurate to a minute.

If wowwiki/wowpedia/wowprogramming all have no comments on it, then the only location you can find help about it is the Lua source code of Blizzard itself (FrameXML). You need to realize that the content on both wowwiki/wowpedia/wowprogramming are all edited by people like you and me, from whatever tests that we have done manually, or deduced by reading code.

Blizzard does not provide support or help.

So yes, all our addons, we DO manually test for quirks, unless by some fluke, someone else has done the same!

Alright, I'll need more information. First, does the issue occur when all other addons are disabled? Secondly, do any of these addons toggle, show/hide or reparent Omen, or switch its profile? You're the 3rd person reporting this issue, the other 2 being on Curse.com's comments.

However, nobody else seems to have this problem.

You can look at the code of Fubar_RoutesFu. It's quite a small addon. Other than that, no, there isn't any API, since I'm accessing the database in Routes _directly_ in the code, like...

    zone_data = CR.db.global.routes[zone]

Routes' db format is in comments at the top of Routes.lua. A route is an array of coordinates, with a possible metadata table for clustered routes (where it stores what each clustered node original nodes are). Look in your SavedVariables.

Or am I missing something / just plain doing it wrong?

You're not doing it wrong. You're doing it the same way all of us, me included, is doing it.

    A) Update addon locally
    B) Update enUS locale strings on wowace/curseforge website (I usually just add the one or two new strings directly by importing in the new strings)
    C) Commit

In that order, so that the commit itself generates a new zip with the updated locale strings from the localization widget.

Some of my addons (such as Postal) silences all errors on unknown locale strings in my development copy. Some of my addons (such as Omen) defines the enUS strings hardcopy and let the packager generate the other 7 locales.

It means one of your addons is playing naughty and affecting the rest, which take blame usually dependent on the order that they are loaded in. Unfortunately, you will have to experiment with disabling addons one by one, or half by half, or try to remember what addons you installed recently.

Any changes to the TOC file requires a full WoW.exe restart. Logging out and back in is insufficient. If the problem still occurs, post the full contents of all your files (addon.toc, Core.lua and After_Core.lua) otherwise its impossible for us to guess the problem.
