Interesting. I'll have to re-install DoubleWide and see what happens :)

There are a couple that do, and yes - Doublewide is the original, more popular one. http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info6887-DoubleWide.html#info

DoubleWide works great, unless you're using TourGuide. Then, it renders TourGuide useless - most likely due to prepending the quest level to its name.

Is there any particular reason that FuBar is listed as a Dependency in the TOC? IIRC, having FuBarPlugin as the dependency and having FuBar as an OptDep is the way to go. I'm mainly asking because I completely removed FuBar in favor of LDB plugins, so the way you have it now precludes my using FuBar2LDB. I can manually edit the TOC, but I thought you might want to address the issue yourself. :)

30 days (give or take) later.. no Mac version available (at least, not off the beta project page). Would it be safe to assume, at this time, that the much promised cross platform functionality is not going to happen? Even your later post stating you've 'seen' a build doesn't actually provide any useful information on the functionality of that build.

edit: from looking at beta.wowace.com, I see the transition is now no more then 48 hours away (as scheduled).. guess you didn't feel the client needed to be tested before converting the site?

    1) You're already assuming, and being snide about it. Then, you're insinuating that Kaelten lied about seeing a build.

    2) There are several people working on the transition. If the person working on the client has fallen behind on the Mac support, that doesn't mean the whole site should be put on hold. It has been repeatedly stated that there will be a Mac build and I see no reason to doubt that it will indeed happen. Being petulant and insulting isn't going to get your version working any sooner.

Has anyone noticed that this function isn't using absolute values?

I'm working on a user configuration for nanoTalk, and have a slider bar that works with minutes (internally translated into seconds). Basically, if the user slides to 20 minutes it should be 1200 seconds. However, looking at the savedvars shows that it's actually saving as 1209.000091552743. That in itself isn't _too_ worrisome, but I'm thinking with smaller values it can make an addon do unintended things. I tested with a min of 1 and a max of 5 (nontranslated) and it saved as 4.977000236511231.

If this is a known issue (and I've searched, only found a client crash issue in 2.3), does anyone know of a workaround?

What do you mean by "doesn't play nice"?

I think he means it stole 3g from FuBar_MoneyFu and broke FuBar_DurabilityFu's gear. For some reason, I'm expecting someone to say "That's what you get for thinking."

Just started using OneBag, and I'm liking it so far.

One request: I know this may go against the primary concept of OB, but would it be possible to separate bags by a thin space (ie: have a slightly larger space between the rows of one bag and the next)?

This isn't _exactly_ what you're looking for, but it's as close as you're going to get at the moment: Click the Menu button. From the menu, select Frame, then select Bag Break.

Add ons are pretty cool.. I have only been playing WOW for 2 months now and like the enhanced maps, cartographer, and gather mate. I am glad to have found these forums also, because I will probably have a gazillion more questions soon,

    Thanks again for your help

I've personally replaced Cartographer with Mapster because it's smaller memory-wise, does pretty much the same thing, and doesn't have a bunch of features I don't want or need. Your mileage may vary, of course. :)

I was confused too after sleeping some lol. I now use Dominos, which I love. But I know by the time I hit 70, I'll have so many damn skills, pots, items, foods I'll be stuck with 36 buttons showing at the least. And I'd like to move away from that.

I have my Dominos set up to only show one bar, period. If I hit ALT or CTRL, however, different bars with different buttons replace the default bar. I find it much nicer to hit CTRL-1 or ALT-7 to cast a certain spell than to find-and-click in a UI nightmare of bars. Another way I've cut down on screen clutter is to use oPie (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info9094-OPie.html) for certain things like DoTs, tradeskills, Paladin seals, etc. Combat has become much more interactive when using it with seals. :D

    Anywho, back on topic...

As I said, it's his own damn fault if he doesn't give people some other way to contact him about his abandoned work. At least an in-game mail is less obtrusive than a whisper.

    Yup.

I guess it depends on the intended extent of the changes. Many people currently check in small fixes to other people's addons (something that, sadly, is probably going to go away with the Curse software), which I don't think is overstepping bounds if the addon is broken to the point of not being usable anyways.

Exactly. If you're going to update/fix it to work, by all means keep the name since it's the same addon. Otherwise, it's become your own beast and would be (in my opinion, without the original author's consent) disrespectful to simply hijack it.

As for the Curse side of things, I think this is where we run into the "NiftySuperAddon! (fan update)" slew of redundant pages. Yay.

If you're really concerned, I'd send him an in-game e-mail on his server anyways. It's not your fault that it's the only way you have to contact him.

...except for the fact that on the addon's wiki, he says to NOT contact him in game...

My opinion, though, is that if an author disappears and cannot be contacted via any of the major addon sites, then his/her work should be absorbed by the community (i.e., be picked up by other authors and the ideas and/or code integrated into newer projects).

I agree, though preferably as a renamed fork in case the author resurfaces with gleaming "UPDATE ADDON NOW" eyes. :D

tbh if your load times are 5 minutes then you might want to upgrade your computer i myself am using 77 mods (thats not including their libraries or additional plugins for them ie Titan and DBM or the blizzard "mods"), and my load times only varied (yes i did test with both embedded and non-embedded) by about 30secs if that.

Believe me, a machine upgrade is on the agenda. However, it isn't _required_ if I run dis-embedded - and that method of reasoning fits perfectly well with today's mentality of "They have more RAM and faster processors...so why optimize or even code well at all?"

In my case, it's an optimization thing even with a faster machine. The time it takes to load the UI can make a difference depending upon the circumstances of the login. :D

    BTW: You're only using 77 addons? :D

I don't like using embedded libraries, as I feel it's inefficient and pointless (if everything is held to some standard).

I agree. I highly dislike having the load screen still be present after pouring a cup of coffee and smoking half a cigarette. Dis-embedding cuts my load time from roughly 5 minutes to under two.

Granted, I'm not the "average" user, but I don't feel that I should have to be "punished" for knowing better by being forced to go through every addon folder I have and moving the libraries up a level. AFAIK, though, there will be an option to dis-embed that's somewhat hidden from the "average" user. I may be wrong, but I hope not...at least until Ace3 becomes the magic bullet it's supposed to become. :)

If you do a bunch of FuBars stacked on top of eachother it can. And if you use FuBar2Broker you can use Guild/FriendsFu with broker displays. ;)

For the most part, that's right. However, I have completely removed FuBar from my setup and there are addons which have FuBar incorrectly set as a ReqDep instead of FuBarPlugin. The ones that I don't feel like rewriting to a broker format I've simply removed FuBar as a dependency for and hoped for the best. Seems to be working so far, but FuBar2Broker is only a stopgap and doesn't work elegantly with everything out there.
