Navigating and setting up stuff on these forums takes me a whole lot longer as it did before, I can't check posts how I used. I can't get to "View last UNREAD post" only "View last post", which I am sure is extremely hard for visually impaired folks.

I had the same problem, until I noticed the little icon to the left side of the thread name that looks like a little down arrow. That takes you right to the last unread post. The only reason I knew what it was is because it has a little popup when you mouse over it.

Well I am not liking the fact that my addons directory got hosed after running the new client for the first time tonight.
Add to that the addons it detected and "updated" or should I say downgraded is only half of the list I had using WAU..

As it stands now I would like to get my addons back on track with WAU as I did not use externals in WAU.. an option curse client doesn't even offer that I have seen

can you get WAU back up for those that need it at this time?

I am missing (ie curse client doesn't see) roughly 18 addons that WAU saw with no issue.

For now, while it's still accessible, the only option is to point your browser to files.wowace.com and manually download the addons. These aren't the latest versions - they are what existed before the official merger - but they're only a couple of days old.

My thoughts are to add some identifiers to the change log file, similar to how we did on the old wowace, that'd allow us to know for sure where the file came from.

There's an ignore forum script in place in the UserCP -> Edit Options.

Considering the Warhammer forum has nothing to do with the WoWAce forum...having us ignore it instead of it just not being there to begin with seems silly :)

Blizzard isn't calling the shots anymore.
Last I checked, Activision had no qualms about selling unfinished software.

I was thinking something along those lines, with all I've heard of beta not being anywhere near ready - yet Blizzard has posted a definitive ship date...

For now, I *just* discovered (cause I was having to zoom in to read Phanx's post with tired/strained eyes, too) that in ff3, you can check "zoom text only" and then the graphics on the site do not change, just the text size.

Thankye. Not perfect, but workable. :)

last but not least, what kind of lua editor do you guys prefer? i know its not the right topic to ask, but just a quick question in between ;), since i tried modifying the lua files in pitbull, except in notepad++, notepad2, notepad and winword i got loads of blocks instead of text, dunno if i'm missing something.

    thanks in advance,

    CM

When not in a UNIX-like environment, I go with XEmacs. It provides syntax-hilighting and code indentation.

BEWARE: It is HIGHLY configurable, and the defaults are usually NOT what a Windows user expects. My suggestion is to read, read some more, and then RTFM. Afterward, code.

    Quote from tekkub2
Well, they *are* regexps, they're just not full blown perl/POSIX regexps as many users expect.

I'm quite apologetic for having to state the fact that "regular expressions" are VERY irregular in the normal context of everyday conversation. I posit that they be excluded from further addon development to avoid any unnecessary user confusion. That is all.

P.S. - German beer is good.

I use Firefox. On this site, and many others, I feel the text is much too small. Therefore, I use page-zoom. On the old site, it worked flawlessly. Here, apparently, the webmaster is stuck in 1999. My widescreen monitor is apparently not wide enough. To be intentionally annoying: "PLZ FIX NOW!"

    P.S. - :D

We're making progress I promise guys. I'm sorry for all the delays. Forums should be more or less at 100% come tommorrow morning. Also going to work out some deal to at least redirect links to the index here.

Is there any way to make the new forums behave like the old ones in regards to new posts? In the old forums, I would be taken right to the newest post of the thread. In this forum, I have to scroll through all previous posts first. I know I can reverse the order to make newest posts show first, but I still have to scroll down until I find one I hadn't read yet - and the read upward. :)

That will only work if the updater grabs metadata from the addon's TOC, and the version there exists and doesn't overlap. Big "if".
