TDurden is right about Auctioneer Advanced itself being optimized, I think idle it only used 500KB, and scanning I think max 2MB.

Thanks for the help there :)

ANd honestly, I like my tooltips more than my unitframes now ;) They show more info :P. Seeing as pitbull uses DogTag too (how about ag_UF?) I may switch to PitBull from ag_UF.

Edit: Ha, just went to PitBull, we'll see how we can change it. But quite frankly, this entire DogTag system sparked my will to get my UI precisely as I want it.

I have to ask, since it's driving me mental. Is there a way to have the HP/MP value colored based on it being less than a certain percent?
    HP: [CurHP:IsLess(([CurHP]/[MaxHP])*40):Color(ff6600)]
Of course gives an error. But I hope you can see what I try to achieve. In short, I am trying to do something in the lines of "HP: If XP > 40% then { show XP in red} else {show XP in normal color}", preferably I would use SmartHP, but then you lack control over the input (it can be int or percentile, and well that matters)
    The error I get is
[2007/09/08 16:18:57-390-x6]: DogTag-1.0.45953: Error with code "HP: [CurHP:IsLess(([CurHP]/[MaxHP])*40):Color(ff6600)]" on "mouseover". [string "local DogTag = AceLibrary("DogTag-1.0");loc..."]:1: attempt to compare string with number:
    CowTip-r46200\Text\Text.lua:199: in function `RefixLines'
    CowTip-r46200\Text\Text.lua:289: in function <Interface\AddOns\CowTip\Text\Text.lua:262>
    <in C code>: in function `pcall'
    AceModuleCore-2.0-43318 (Ace2):142: in function `CallMethodOnAllModules'

    CowTip-r46200\CowTip.lua:192: in function <Interface\AddOns\CowTip\CowTip.lua:185>
    (tail call): ?:

I tried with CurHP:IsLess(40):Red (let's for easy-sake keep it red at the moment lol) but then the HP was constantly colored, even if it was 100%

I am trying to achieve the same on MP, but HP matters more to me. Since I've disabled the HealthBar and PowerBar at the bottom, I feel the color stuff is important (personal thingie).

Also is there a way to make the name appear in Bold?
    And I 97th the import/export settings to share lay-outs.

CKK, I too, wanna have your babies. You're simply amazing, can I read your mind and copy it to mine?

    To respond to TDurden,

I did read all those FAQ or whatever, even the pages "A day with Slott industries" it's a fairly long read when you have a lvl15 character and it's your first as well. At that point I didn't see a use for a Banker/AH character because my inventory/bank space sufficed.

Some of the readers here, just want to optimize their current addons, no matter which one it is or on which character. Or what about those with low-end systems, who can not spare the memory, I know with 1GB I can, but I don't need to be running firefox with some tabs and scanning the AH because then my HDD goes into Swap file mode ;)

It's not a question of wanting to put up with extra memory or not, it is about finding ways to optimize the memory alloted to WoW, to cram as much functionality as possible into it. And also, if you look at my previous post about Auctioneer Advanced (and the one before that), you'll see I've very much so applauded the advanced version, it is perfect, and does its job well. Yes, while scanning the mem usage goes up, which is normal, upon completion, ram use goes down a lot again. I realize that both Informant and Enhtooltip will stay heavy to use, especially informant, since it is a database addon, so I looked for viable replacements, and came to people who wish for similar things.

About replacing Informant by Mendeleev, I skimmed 3.5MB of my mem usage, so that is good. I have always had Informant disabled for most info, I only really used the "Used in:" and vendor values - mainly for grey items to sell. Enhtooltip takes care of displaying values in the tooltip while in the AH, so yes, it is possible to run auctioneer (even on a main) without using as much ram.

Moonwitch, you can delete Informant and use Mendeleev instead. It give you more control over what you see in your tooltips.

Yeah, that's what I am testing atm, see if I can change some things like that around, since informant still is NOT mem optimized, while Auctioneer Adv is. And while BottomScanner did in the past land me some sweet money making deals, it's not worth running it on your main (I did end up making a bank/AH character where those mods are enabled)

Yeah, it's /aadv scan, the good thing is that you can pause the scanning process to eg. go to the bank, get mail, and resume it. But still I find it using quite some resources (Enhtooltip is passable, Informant however is bad.) Auctioneer Adv. uses a config GUI, yet no options for what Informant is to show in the tooltips, which would limit the resources poured into it.

I would love to make an ace based addon like Auctioneer, with those features, but as a first add-on, that might be way too high ;) I've tried a simple StatusCaller (Like Cosmos' CombatCaller), and even that failed lol.

And indeed, I had disabled QuestFU, but forgot to delete the addon folder, that was where my issue was. >.< Sorry, I totally forgot to delete it. It can happen, don't hate me for it :( Thanks Baracuda, when I read your post, I remembered I hadn't deleted QuestFu :) Now I have THE quest addon I dreamt off :)

I've been a long time user of QuestFU,but lately the lack of being able to change the width annoyed me. So I looked around and stumbled across nQl, which I LOVE, I only have one issue, and most likely it will be a simple user-error. I get the nQl minion, which is set to hide quests not of my current zone. When I then zone out, the default Blizzard tracker shows up, I disable quest tracking in the blizz log, zone - and boom there they are again. I've made sure the Automatic Quest Tracking in the Blizz Interface options is unchecked, which I assume to be disabled, but still the tracker shows up when zoning.

This is the only thing preventing me from using this.

    catching up a bit...
    - automatic abbreviation isn't in, yet but I was thinking about sth like that myself.
    - and no, text can only be to the side of the icon currently and for the time being I don't think I'll change that.

I don't know anything about lua, but would you mind if I take a look and see if perhaps I can get the bottom text display, I love this addon and it's simplicity, but it's one of those things I personally prefer. Thank you for considering it though :)

I may have missed this option, but is there a way to display the time left on buffs underneath the actual buffs (like Buffalo2 Dream Lay-out) does? Other then that, I love this mod ! Keep up the amazing work!

Thanks Zidomo (I think) for the tip on Mendeleev, I'll see how much more memory my pc can tolerate. With Auctioneer I cycle at 45MB, which is largely due to BottomScanner, Informant and EnhToolTip. Those 3 together actually use almost 15MB, Auctioneer Advanced, while the Auctioneer part itself seems to be a LOT better in resource use, still those three aren't modified it seems, since those still clog up my system like mad.

So while AA seems to be doing tuns better, the "dependencies" are horrid still (also Auctioneer Advanced is once again prepackaged with Enchantrix and Enchantrix (Barker) whatever that is). So I've returned to KC_Items which now seems so much less confusing. In Auctioneer advanced, you can post multiple auctions at once, but you have to enter the price per item, even if it's in stacks of 20. I was lost on what is what, and lost my "Scan" button as well. So yes, KC_Items does the trick with Fence, and now I am going to give Mendeleev a whirl. I'll most likely post back about that. Simply because perhaps others are looking for the exact same thing, and might find this helpful (the comparison).

One more thing, which could be due to a small database of prices, but KC_items seems to underprice all my items upon dropping them. The tooltip however is accurate. But eg. if the tooltip shows 1g for a stack of 20 linen cloths, the fill-in-price will be perhaps 70s.
