Mar 4, 2009Well, I understand some of the doings/changes, BUT:Posted in: Grid & Grid2
- some squares are named corner-bottom-left while they could have any location. This is confusing.
-> Squares: Heals, HoTs, Debuffs, Aggro (is in place). Or revert to how those were named, right now it's painfully confusing. I'll think on this some more though.
And I agree with your petpeeve, it's why I still check pre-fight which buffs are missing. Namely pally buffs drive me insane, I don't care whether or not they use PallyPower or whatever, if I see 4 pink names, I wanna see GBoK, GBoM, GBoW and GBoS on everyone, tank, melee dps, caster dps or healer. :P *end rant*
Anyhow, I'll sleep on the indicator thing :)
Mar 3, 2009I have a few points :)Posted in: Addon Ideas
1. Allow font size changes (Right now it's so small I can barely read it.)
2. Perhaps opt for coloring known recipes and unusable things but include a * before and after the name. This would allow people who are visually impaired to benefit from this addon as well.
3. I love the speed with which it does its job, please don't change that :P
Other then that, I encourage people to try this addon, it is very nice.
Mar 3, 2009What are your computer specifications?Posted in: AddOn HELP!
Do you use wireless or wired?
Do you run a lot of background processes?
Did you notice a line in when you disconnect? Is it during trash pulls? A lot of AoE? Does it happen in naxx10/25?
Have you tried it without addons?
(These are just questions that could be forming an issue. Heat in the pc could be the issue as well.)
Mar 3, 2009Posted in: General ChatQuote from grayggrThought I'd give BlackBox a whirl
Like it so far:
Modified bblean biagra blue (just changed to green!)
Sexy, and I notice a fellow West Wing fan, the episode where CJ got assigned her own security team, which she did not like :)
Mar 3, 2009If you guys want me to test some other stuff, let me know :) I've been using Grid2 in raids as well so I do notice more now :)Posted in: Grid & Grid2
But I have to hand it to you, it's looking very very good and I do like the config method.
Quote from AzethothMeanwhile I found the threshold setting and will hook that up.
I also noticed something whacky I have not looked into: opening and closing bags (I use Bagnon) changes the health bar background.
For the first note, thank you :)
Secondly, attacking/targetting a dead mob does that too for me at times (but this is untested, so I can't provide a decent reproduce-method.
Mar 2, 2009Posted in: Grid & Grid2Quote from AzethothMmm, I briefly played around a bit and it seems to be set up that way already. However I could not get it to behave as mentioned. I am not sure that health deficit has a threshold at the moment...
THat's my issue as well.
Also : That "I can't see the textures" with no addons but Grid2 I still have that issue. Doesn't seem related to anything but the textures.
Here's what I tested.
1. Cleared Saved Variables.
2. Installed Grid2 clean.
It's a long odd test. I have 3 textures (Blizzard, Gradient and Solid), I've tested without hightlight and with, and when the unit is target and when it is not.
I've then tested it a second time, same setup everything... And got different results (I even couldn't get Solid to show up)
1. bar-health-color + bar-heals-color = default (not inverted)
- bar-heals = Blizzard
* bar-health = Blizzard -> NOK < if I target something else but me OK though
* bar-health = Gradient -> OK
* bar-health = solid -> OK
- bar-heals = Gradient
* bar-health = Blizzard -> OK
* bar-health = Gradient -> NOK
* bar-health = solid -> NOK
- bar-heals = Solid
* bar-health = Blizzard -> OK
* bar-health = Gradient -> OK
* bar-health = solid -> (NOK/NOK/OK/OK) < when unit is targeted OK
Note : When healing, the unit will no longer show the depletion and have just a black overlay in total (you can see that it does contain green).
Mar 2, 2009Posted in: Data Broker AddOnsQuote from SeerahWhy not point to both? :p Many users (myself included - *before* I was staff) fully prefer to download from wowinterface over Curse.
And that list isn't a bad idea :) If I come across an addon to be slapped on there, I'll do that.
Mar 2, 2009Can we not make this a "it's all arrow's fault" thread please? Nothing good will come out of that. Keep it to a discussion on where our civility has gone, but please for the sake of people getting upset - refrain from using direct names :)Posted in: General Chat
For the record, I moved the thread to the admin section because I felt it served no point and could only instill more name-calling/insulting.
Mar 1, 2009Actually, RAID isn't done mainly for speed, although it's often used for that reason (both mirroring and striping). It's done for data security. Though with striping you're screwed lolPosted in: General Chat
Which is why mostly you see 0/1 or 0/5 iirc.
About the issue : I've had a similar issue, which was down to an incompatibility between my sata controller and the hard drive itself. Linux had no issues, yet Windows spewed blackness. Perhaps worth looking into? It could be due to hard incompat. Or perhaps a lingering MBR (Master Boot Record), I don't know for sure if these get wiped with a format.
Mar 1, 2009Posted in: Grid & Grid2Quote from PhanxTechnically that's already possible, by setting "missing health" on the same text indicator as "unit name" with a higher priority than the name. There just isn't a configuration UI to let you do that in-game yet.
That said, I'm still waiting for a way to eliminate the "center text 2" indicator and move "center text 1" into the middle of the frame. Two texts means that either they are too small to read, or Grid takes up literally half of my screen to make the frames big enough to fit both at readable sizes... plus it's just more visual clutter I don't want.
Quoted for the truth, I severely miss that as well. (And the ability to set it to show missing health when HP is at 99%)
Quote from jokeyrhymeI have SharedMedia installed, and I'm using the Graphite texture absolutely everywhere (although I used to find LiteStep quite nice too).
I have both of the inverse settings turned on. When people have taken damage, the health they are missing is black and the health they have is textured. And when getting heals, the healed amount is textured.
Ideally, I'd love the heal bar to just be a sliver, perhaps 5 pixels thick at the most, so the current health is never completely obscured. I'm not sure if this will be possible in future.
I don't understand why I am having this issue. With the "coflicting" addon removed, it still does it. :( I honestly don't know how to solve it anymore. A complete exit of the game sorts it again though, whereas a relog does not
Mar 1, 2009Posted in: Grid & Grid2Quote from jokeyrhymeMoon, have you experimented with the "inverse" settings for the health bars and/or heal bars? I find I have to tick these for the colours to behave the way I'd expect.
It's odd. I can't select the same texture in heals and health, if I do, I see nothing. But occasionally it'll still freak out on me. (Happened during Patchwerk on Naxx25 :P)
How do you have that set? Heals on inverse and Health on not inverse?
(I want to get dark when full HP, and depletion in class colors with a green tone to indicate heals)
