Which basically the community as a whole blames for all of this.
Perhaps I require more sleep, less time in between trying to keep up with threads >.<
And quite frankly, for a big part - yeah, I join ranks with the community. But that said, I can understand the "insert moneyz here" from there, just not the method. :(
So what I learned so far : It does not matter whether I am aware of breaching some contract someone else signed/agreed to, if anything from my hands causes damages, I am liable?
If we take that a step or 10k higher -> Say the devs of Notepad++, Notepad++ is used to write some code which is an application to engage in DOS attacks, therefore according to my very limited understanding, notepad++ devs can get sued according to the tort laws?
Either way, I am not happy with this recent development (the "rules"), but I can see why they came into existence. For some devs, it will not be an issue, while for others - and I do believe the rules are aimed at those devs - it will be a killer for income.
I was going to go all cryptic in my next part, but I got confused by myself, so I'll write it plainly - this is in NO way a personal attack (just to cover my bases with legal actions on things I am not aware of ;P) or a slander attempt.
Carbonite shows - at random intervals - a popup with "donate plz, kthxbai". Who's to say they won't jump to "we have x subscribers, we can rent out that popup with actual ads to increase revenue"? Perhaps that's what Blizz was fearing for and caused this "rule book"?
Well if you want the *extreme* portability get a netbook, otherwise you can find a "real" laptop for not much difference in price and have a bit more power at the expense of size/weight.
Yeah I was thinking that too. It'd have to have (wtf, is that even correct?) at least 3 hrs battery life, though I could see if I can snatch an outlet at work (try finding one when everyone has a laptop, 2nd screen and a test machine to his/her disposal). And it'd have to be portable, since I do walk quite a bit between trains/buses etc.
I just have one issue. I spend 4 hrs a day traveling (2hrs to work and 2 back), so I am considering an eePC (some mini pc crap) or a laptop (perhaps a pda/smarhphone could do this too) to use a simple text editor (with syntax highlighting if possible) on the road. Anyone any suggestions?
Editor: Notepad++
Setup: Dualscreen is almost a necessity for me.
References: FrameXML, WoWProgramming, WoWwiki, various forums.
I must admit, having dual screens at work spoils me, it's rather annoying now to have one screen at home. I keep trying to drag stuff over to the other screen (eg. watching Death Note while coding -> dual screen = "ok", single screen = "nope" :(
Oh yes :
- Sublime Editor or Intype or Notepad++ (I am currently testing Sublime and intype, usually notepad ++, looking for a decent Textmate clone on windows. Or I may just give up and use gvim again)
- Refs : same as everyone else lol
- I keep wow open (or drycode) and just test it with loads of /rl . I use tekerr and oshit for errors. Though I am grabbing spew as well
Well, I'd start by looking up which api calls are needed on wowwiki.com (or wowprogramming), and look into the functions for frames and buttons as well.

Might I inquire as to which addons you are perusing?
Aka can you post an addon list?

I would like to know how you achieved such crisp borders, they're exactly 1px. Mine usually end up fuzzy, especially around my unitframes. :(

It was the SetDrawLayer that did it :P Thanks

Maybe I wasn't referring to male nips ... lol
I just wondered how you got the buff timers to overlap the bottom edge of the icon. I've tried, but the text then is UNDER the icon >.<
