This is a mid to long term goal for us. There are some technical limitations to overcome but over time we expect we'll be able to get there.
would it be possible to implement at least a central list of the other sites and their private messages statistics (total/unread, and so on)?
We are looking at a few ways of doing it, I expect the changes we plan on making will resolve this but we don't have an ETA for those yet :(
