These forums are not busy enough to warrant bumping threads. Your thread was already at the top of the Grid/Grid2 forum, even. Furthermore, it's the holidays, so many people are not reading the forums. The only thing you achieve by bumping your thread is to annoy the few people who are reading the forums by making your thread pop up on their "new posts" list again for no reason.
Also, you should probably specify which addon you are talking about as Grid and Grid2 are totally different projects by different authors, and any specific advice won't be relevant to both.
Off the top of my head I'd say you'd need to use a namelist and manually update it with the names of yourself and your group members in the desired order as the group roster changes, which is probably more work than it's worth, and you're probably better off just getting used to the "official" party order. Whatever macro you were using on the default frames (when you're talking about specific code, you really should post it; making people guess about things is a good way to make them not bother replying) most likely won't work with addons like Grid that use the group header system, since any manual positioning you do will be overwritten and the sorting options are limited.
I just had this Thread bookmarked and i just came after 2 Days and bumped it.
Didnt mean to make this a rush, i just thought it would be on a different page after 2 Days ;)
The Script is:
/run LoadAddOn("Blizzard_CompactRaidFrames") CRFSort_Group=function(t1, t2) if UnitIsUnit(t1,"player") then return false elseif UnitIsUnit(t2,"player") then return true else return t1 < t2 end end CompactRaidFrameContainer.flowSortFunc=CRFSort_Group
For the Script to be working, you need an update on the raidframe (either swapping between 2 existing blizzard raid profiles, or entering a dungeon/arena) once you are shown at the bottom, you will be at the bottom until you log out.
I thought that its an common script and ppl woulda know what iam talking about :) I just know its alot used in the PvP Scene.
well, since grid always keeps me first in group, cant it be easily changed for "always first" to "always last"?
atleast thats what ive thought woulda be possible.
i very much appreciate the help and i hope i maybe can figure it out for the future.
Yes, as I suspected, that macro cannot be made to work with Grid, because Grid simply does not work the same way as the default raid frames, and cannot work that way due to Blizzard restrictions on addons. Your options for sorting frames using secure unit headers are "NAME" which does exactly what it sounds like, and won't help unless your character is named "Zzzz", or "INDEX" which sorts by internal unitID, and you cannot modify the sort function -- "player" always sorts before "party1". Your options for achieveing what you want are either to use a namelist as stated in my previous post, or use a different addon that creates and manages individual frames instead of using group headers.
