As a mage I would love to see Audio alerts in Grid (Curse, Missing Debuffs, etc). I know that this is the avenue that the author of RDX took with his Grid clone (I dont advocate paying for RDX btw just a comment). Really this is the only thing that has prevented me from using GRID as my main set of raid frames -- i'm paying attention to everything else going on and as a non-healer am not used to watching those raid frames aka. whack-a-mole.
I use Grid as my party frames as well as my complete raid set. When I know that curses are coming, or I don't have as many responsibilities it is easy to watch for curses and clear them. When I'm working in a small group situation though it is harder to notice when a party member is cursed, as I'm paying more attention to the surroundings and situations going on. Something that could help would be either a (toggleable) audible notification when someone is cursed (just as a reminder to now check the frames and clear it), or an interfacing with MSBT/SCT to print out an event to their visual areas.

Hey another quick ? -- Any way to do a mock layout of Grid without bring in a raid? I would like to center and position it for 40man layout (ideally not while in a raid).
I also am curious if it does or if it does not can this be done -- any way to set the layout for 40man, 20man, 10man as seperate layouts -- IE: I got a EEPANEL im putting my Grid raid frames in and would like it to be the same size no matter the # in the raid but upscale the icons in the grid depending on the # of people. I hope I didnt confuse anyone with this -- i'm still suffering a bit of a hangover -- TIA.
Since last SVN Update i get everytime i join a Raid Group this Error:

I've seen people request bringing in the Squishy feature where it highlights the person you should be healing based on a priority system. Pastamancer & Maia's stance seemed to be to have someone else write it, so I made the attempt. This is my first mod so be kind.
I had an issue last night that I did not notice before. The bottom row of the raid layouts (any layout, 40man for example) I was not able to clickcast or select target on the entire square - only the top section, top border if you will. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to do some troubleshooting. Grid bug? or maybe from one of the Grid 'addins' ?

I don't think my problem has anything to do with that ticket (being in combat or not as well as having people added to the raid and clickable). Just that the bottom row of any layout, the squares are not fully clickable, only the top border is. I'll dump my variables and test tonight, post to trac if necessary. But, I take it no one else has had this problem?
For lack of screenies:
----- < clickable area
| | < not clickable
----- < not clickable
Again this happens for the bottom row only of squares, everything else is perfectly fine. Using latest build of Grid, no Grid Modules.

I love Grid for the raid layout, but it's missing things like Pets, Main Tanks, Focus units, etc. Since these unit are more often not available then they are available, it'd be nice to have an additional frame that you could configure for additional units you want to watch. You could add units while out of combat. In the add menu, you could select "All raid pets", "oRA/CTRA Main Tanks", "oRA Player Targets", "My Party, "My focus", or "My current target". You could also remove any unit by Unitname.
How extensible is Grid when it comes to Indicators? I've seen 1 Indicator addon (GridSideIndicator or something), but I would really like some more small text indicators to accommodate the display of the number of different hots on a target or other stuff, mana amount.. etc etc... IMHO 2 text indicators is not enough as a healer I need as much information as possible. Is anyone working on something like this? Does functionality like this fit the main design goals of Grid? Or was grid never intended as a full blown raid unit display?
i also got occasional people on my grid who i cant click.
these are usually people who "logged out", or are disconnected, but their grid status is not updated yet, so they dont show as offline.

It's easy for addons to modify Grid. Personally, I think two text indicators is one too many, but I'm not going to prevent an intrepid addon developer from adding more via their own addon.
I can't imagine what your ideal raid frames would look like. I'd probably die from informaiton overload.

Grid works good the way it is mostly.
a bit more "size" options, and number of debuffs to show would help greatly though.
e.g. chromaggus can do up to 5 different debuffs on hou, and its hard to prioritize anyone because you can only see 1 on each person.
if somebody has 3 he is in critical need of a cleaning though.
if it was possible to make the grid units wider (custom setting), and show up to 3-4 debuffs (perhaps scaled) per person that would definitely be a big improvement.
who knows what TBC will bring, if some bosses perform 1 mass aoe curse, and 1 randomly to some people.
also, perhaps an option to either fade / blinkfade (like blizzard does) debuff icons when they are about to expire, and probably not worth decursing.

i wouldnt mind seeing an extra "class" in the grid panel for pets.
however, as the author said
I don't find either option very appealing. Until the SecureRaidHeader allows pets to be treated like normal units, I think you'll find that most raid frames won't display pets.
As far as showing debuffs goes, I keep magic/curse/poison/disease in the "top right corner" indicator and have only specific debuffs on the "icon" indicator. Spend some time playing around with the Grid -> Frame -> Indicators menu.
until blizzard treats pets as seperate units(they should), i doubt we'll get that.
for maintank windows and player targets i use ora2, but i can see that your idea may be useful to some people.

I use it together with Grid and they work like a charm. ;)
Check out this thread.
I'll work on integrating GridAlert after the documentation is finished.

Sounds like an invisible frame ontop of Grid.
Mouseover that spot and run this macro:
Ahhhh there you are... Thanks.
