Well, I reinstalled Windows and overclocked my PC, and deleted all my Grid settings... and seem to be having a much more pleasant Grid experience - with several of the mods disabled (inc. Recount/Parrot) - I think the culprit was the oRa2 plugin for Grid - the layouts addons too - we'll see.
Only problem I'm having now is occasionally healthbars sticking. i.e. I heal someone to full, and their healthbar shows them at 60%.
I have healthbar to show death, offline and unit health. Class colors are turned off, and healthbar color shows only aggro warning and some other debuffs. I was able to "fix" their faulty HP by buffing them with Blessing of Kings to increase their max HP.
I'm only running Grid, Sideicons, GridStatusHostileUnit, GridStatusHots (doesn't seem to work) and the raid debuff one.
If you get errors you should copy them and post them here, otherwise we have to guess ... ;)
And since its patchday today , that might be the reason
this was yesterday, when it was still 2.3.
There was no 'errors' to post because it was all performance based i.e. a person would get moved around in the raid, and my screen would hang, grid would refresh itself, I could move again.
You don't need GridStatusIncomingHealth anymore; its functionality is now built into the Grid core addon. Also, GridManaBars has frequently been pointed to as the culprit for Grid-related performance issues. Finally, although you probably know this already, GridDynamicLayout, GridLayoutPlus, and GridoRA2Layouts have overlapping functionality and shouldn't be run together.
Actually I think it is time to either:
- change the description of outdated Grid modules
- move them to a branch/tags and replace them in trunk with an empty readme.txt explaining what module to use instead

GridStatusIncomingHealth isn't outdated because it still can be (and is) used by people who want/need to use IncomingHealsLib instead of (or together with) HealCommLib.
I already changed the description and the readme.txt. Don't know how to make it else plain to the people that they probably don't need it anymore.

And what, exactly, is the point of encouraging Grid users to use IHL instead of LHC? As far as I know the two are not compatible, so users who keep Grid up-to-date and are using LHC won't be able to see healing data from users who, for some reason, are using an old version of Grid with an IHL-based plugin instead. A quick Google on "IncomingHealsLib" on svn.wowace.com reveals IHL used by the following:
The first I assume is standalone; users should switch/upgrade to VisualHeal. The two GridStatusIncoming* plugins should be removed, as their functionality is now included in Grid itself. The other two Grid plugins, although I personally think they don't need to exist at all, should be updated to use LHC. If there are any other addons using IHL, they should also be updated to use LHC.

GridStatusHealer was renamed GridStatusHealPriority, so GridStatusHealer shouldn't exist anymore. It has been using LHC even before Grid supported it, but it had backward compatibility (to IHL and HC2) for a while because the Grid on WoWI and Curse didn't have LHC. As of Tuesday morning all references to old libraries were removed and it's now expecting the latest libraries to work.
BTW, what irks you about it existing? It was only meant to replicate a function that Squishy had. Grid replaced Squishy so for those that miss this functionality, the plugin fits that need.
I don't want to encourage them, but I also don't want to tell them what to use. Exspecially because GSIHealth works perfectly (and in fact only) together with the new Grid since it uses the HealBar from base grid instead of its own.
A reason for keaping IHL instead of LHC whould be the HealGraph of IncomingHeals and the broadcast of resses and hot-ticks (thats the reason why I still have IHL running together with LHC).
In general, the problem with outdated/deprecated modules is that Grid newbies tend to install Grid with *all* available modules, simply because they don't know better. And I guess the same happens with Cartographer or other modular addons. Which is why I'd like to see modules that have their functionality more or less built into the core being phased out. Same with modules that seem to cause major issues (GridManaBars?).
there is a threat in generals forum regarding a general svn-cleanup, but i doubt, that it will happen anytime ?sooon. maybe a list of gridmodules that work together and which you dont need ,etc could solve a few problems meanwhile?
I have the following layout with the "Layout -> Horizontal groups" option selected. This makes a nice long row of everyone, but the pets are obviously on a separate line. Is it possible to have pets in the same group as their master?
Another question is how I could go about doing a small spacer in the Horizontal groups and maintain one line. Doing this works, but the spacer is a new row.
I just counted all of these gridaddons available on WAU , i think there are too many (31+ grid itself)
A lot of them are older than 30 or even than 90 days.
As discussed in http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=11472.0 , get rid of these old ones.
Maybe someone of you has the right to do so on svn, or a better idea.
Writing grid 2 could be another option, but thats alot of work.
I updated the Wiki page on the available Grid modules, and tried to collect notes on conflicts, etc. from the various threads here. I'd appreciate other peoples thoughts as well.
Please don't make it a flame war though.

Isnt GridLayoutPlus the replacement of GridoRA2Layouts in some way? i think you could kill it together with the healer layouts, which are basically included in layoutplus as well ;)
Incoming Heal and IncomingHealth should be deleted as well, they are included now and use deprecated libs. This is also true for other things that are now in core like extraBar
Im not sure about layoutplus&autoframeresize&dynamiclayout, they all sound to be very similar
GridDynamicLayout and GridLayoutPlus clearly have overlapping functionality and I do not recommend running them both at the same time. GridDynamicLayout's goals are to be a very dynamic layout to group the raid in a way that makes it easy for healers to find and identify people by their role by looking at their buffs. GridLayoutPlus's goal was to merge a lot of the functionality of the included layouts, and many of the layout plugins that were available. I added in a sort by role that is similar but not the same as GridDynamicLayout as more of a challenge and a proof of concept. Since 2.4 sort of killed the idea of sorting the raid based on talent queries, I may remove the code. The good thing that came out of it is that I made a TalentQuery library that is now in use in DogTag and Pachelbel's MoBuffs.
So I highly recommend you try both and see which one fits your particular need. But definately do not run both active at the same time. Turn on one and shut off the other would be your best bet.
Grid2 is being worked on by Pasta and Jerry. I have a small hand in it as well, but I don't know how much I will be able to contribute other then adding some of the functionality of GridLayoutPlus into the core. I still think I'm a newb addon programmer, but I'm learning a lot.

My old font was SCT Adventure.
Grid gets all of its extra fonts and textures via SharedMediaLib. It's likely that SCT or another addon you use was providing the SCT Adventure font.

Nice work! Reminded me of GridExtraBar which is outdated -> removed its content and left a readme.txt with a note.

BTW, Great job on that wiki Pachelbel!
How did it kill your idea?
