I don't know if either of these is currently possible, I'm looking to:
1. Find a way to have an indicator that will just populate in an expanding/shinking fashion with every debuff a person has on them, similar to how the default target or focus frame does.
2. Tooltips for that debuff list when I hover the cursor over one (again, similar to the focus frame)
I realize it would be fairly spammy - but I'm hoping to set grid2 as a viable arena frame (already using it for a raid frame). With the configuration I'm using, the length of a debuff list will not be a problem even if it went into the 16+ range.
In an arena match it is pretty key for me to know EVERYTHING a person has on them, including things I'm not capable of removing, and sometimes you may be talking about 10 or more debuffs on a single person. I suppose I could set up individual indicators for everything - but I'm not aware of a way to make them expand and collapse to save screen real estate. I would have to pick a unique spot for every indicator?
Example: My warrior teammate has, 5x winters chill, frost nova, frost bolt, immolate, unstable affliction, corruption, death coil, shadow word: pain, devouring plague on him, I'd like to see ALL of that at once, and have the list collapse as I dispel things or they expire naturally (or expand when more get added)
This very well may be outside the scope of core grid2, I would appreciate any advice I can get, thanks!
Understandable, I'm not really using it way it was designed for. I'm actually basically just trying to imitate and expand on the old PerfectRaid style layout, which I've used for both arena&raid for far too long considering it's no longer updated. Here's my setup if you're curious(In both shots I've got both Praid and Grid2 displayed):
I have a custom 1x25 vertical layout with it 200% scaled with 10x60 frames, with the player names outside the health bar to the left, similar to the old perfectraid mod. Ideally I'd put my expanded list of all the debuffs on the outside-right of the frame - I'm just generally opposed to stuff overlapping the health bar display.
Anyway, I appreciate the response. I'll figure something out :)
You might want to look into oUF. There are a ton of layouts already written; there's probably one that meets, or comes close to meeting, your needs, and it's pretty easy to edit them if you want to change something.
I have a different question for you though. Is the point of seeing extra stuff (that you can not dispel yourself) so you have an idea of incoming damage? If so I can see a potential indicator plugin that tracks dots similar to how the the current heals-incoming works for hots etc.
