i love grid, but recently ive been having a little trouble with it, where the health bar lags behind the normal UI, so if someone was at 30% and then went up to 70%, it wud show its at 30% for 2 more secs. it never used to do this before, only after the last patch, (although i did update it) and i havent added any new mods really. any clues what that is about?
Every custom made Unitframe has a not avoidable amount of "lag" that is greater than the StandardUFs. Its gets bigger the worse your ping and PC is.
While most people deal with it and dont even notice it, some of our healers for example dropped custom UFs and just used their (enhanced) standard frames, because they hated the "lag", even if it was just some ms.
Matrix, this isn't true. There's no reason the default UI should be any faster - in fact, Grid can theoretically even be faster than the default UI, if it's better written, listens to less events etc. I've been raid healing with 3-4 FPS on a iBook from 2004 until just a few months ago, so trust me, I did spend lots of time testing which addons lag me less than others.
As for the lag that has been reported in health bars, it's probably either related to a wrong indicator assigned to the health bar, using a very old version of Grid (the ones that didn't listen to UNIT_MAX_HEALTH), or using an external module for Grid that's causing issues.
In any case, without narrowing down the bug report, there's little that can be done.
I know the GridStatusAFK module caused my Grid to just *not* update health at all on random units (not necessarily AFK ones), so it's likely that other modules can cause the same problem or similar.
well i tried removing all the external addons i added, as well as resetting the options. i just wanted to know if this was a problem im facing, or if its a general issue
