I've used Grid for some time - at first just because I wanted to see my entire raid, while on my rogue (back in BWL days).
Yesterday I started using it on my Healer, and though I toyed with the settings for ages, there were two problems I found no solution to.
Grid Groups - they are listed alphabetically.
I'm a restoration druid, and often in the main tank group. As such I sometimes want to target the main tank using my F-keys. The default Blizzard keybindings have F1, F2, F3, F4 and F5 bound to your group, but the blizzard group is not listed alphabetically. The player for instance is always F1, regardless of name.
Is there any way to sort my groups the blizzard way?
Grid and pets - I could not find any way for grid to show the raid pets. Is this possible or should I be looking around for another way to show pets?
Seconded. Fortunately with the new smaller raid sizes in TBC, there aren't as many pets in the raid, so I can either just use my party pet frames, or set an out-of-party pet as my focus target. Still, pet support in Grid is something I'm definitely looking forward to, when the devs have time. :)

Pet support the way Grid needed it wasn't reall possible in 2.0. But 2.1 should have changed things, so maybe we'll see pets soon.
As for the initial question: you'll need sort method INDEX instead of NAME. Have a look at GridLayoutLayouts.lua to see how the default layouts are done and add your own.
Even if Pet's don't fit the nice, clean, tight version of a 5 x 5 Grid matrix for a 25 man raid, perhaps one could have an entirely secondary window that would populate just with Pets so that you could locate it adjacent to the main character window or somewhere entirely differently.
I just use X-Perl for my Target, ToT, Focus and myself and if I wanted to show pets in my party I would use it for that too, but for Raid pets I think a 2nd Grid window would be an option that may be better than trying to fit pets into the current window.

neeeeeed pet heal :(
if there 6 healers only 2 need the pets in that grid window... also 2 windows, 1 for pet, 1 for players would be great! The best is, if the healer can controlling, which pet he can see in grid... but a warlock pet isnt importantly instead of a beastmaster pet (hunter).

If pet support is added, you can make your own layout that does anything you like with pets, whether merging them with your melee DPS group, treating them as a separate class, or putting them in a group by themselves with a big gap between them and your player classes, much like you can currently make a separate group for your party, or for main tanks. There'd be no need for a second window.

I don't think this would be possible. I'm fairly certain that the way secure raid headers work for pets, you can't distinguish between a warlock pet and a hunter pet.

There is no pet support.
But it is on the Grid TODO.
And i also would really like pet support in Grid and other addons.
Ditto!

Please make a pet window possible.

I Installed Grid With Pets Support and didnt notice any Performance decrease or Problems with Reality of Data Showed...
Would love to see the dev Reviewing the code and Applying It to the Main Branch! :)
